Would Leicester be running away with League 1 if Wotte was the Manager. What's Pearson got to do to earn some respect from the Lowe Luvvies, win the Premiership? Is this ******* contest going to continue with very Manager appointed for the next 10 years? Most supporters think Lowe should have kept Pearson on, and made a mistake by not doing so.Judging every Manager that comes in against, Pearson, will still not change that fact.

I think any more protests are bound to decrease in size and value, if it's the same thing over and over again. Now people can see there's been a slight change of direction and ALL the squad are available for selection, now is not the time to protest. Lowe has got us into this mess and needs to go in the summer, but nothing will be gained by it before then. Personally, I intend to get behind the whole Club, and think everyone should do the same. The time to let Lowe know our feelings is after the season ends. or god forbid when it's impossible to stay up.

It is quite common in Football for an incoming regime to want their own man. In fact keeping the present Manager is sometimes a distraction and a bad thing, because he never really has the backing of the new people, and speculation about other Managers runs riot. I can understand Lowe wanting his own man, although in hindsight it looks like a major error. What gets to me is the "we couldn't afford him" line. Instead of Lowe thanking him for his work, but saying he wanted someone else to move the Club forward. He spun us this money line, when it was obvious he was not going to keep him on. Had Glenn Hoddle been willing to do the job for Pearson's wages, Lowe would have appointed him. Had Pearson not been so popular with the majority of the support, Lowe would have just got rid, without the "money" line. Personally I think Lowe bottled it and tried to bring his new regime in without upsetting the fans too much, the end result was he looked shifty and underhand and it was not a very good start to his return.

Makes Wotte's decision to take him off against Bristol and leave McG on look a bit silly as well. Let's not forget if Lowe had his way, not only would Saga have not been playing yesterday, but Rudi, Euall and possibly Kelvin as well. The only way we'll stay up this season is if Saga goes on the type of run he had 2 years ago. He needs to play every minute of every game remaining, and maybe he may just manage to ensure that Lowe's "policies" earlier in the season, do not end up being fatal.

Why didn't Wotte speak up earlier in the season?
Lord Duckhunter replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I thought he resigned. Unless the Club aren't telling us the truth. I thought the last regime "failed to communicate with supporters" according to Lowe, so he would keep us all informed and tell the truth, wouldn't he?, unless he's a hypercrite, of course. -
Why didn't Wotte speak up earlier in the season?

Under Jan we stuck 3 past Preston, so let's not get too carried away. The fact that we're now playing more direct, with senior players all involved is a good thing. Most have been calling for that all season. If Wotte manages to save us, it will just show how stupid the appointment of Jan and the selection and formation policies were earlier in the season. It takes a big man to admitt his mistakes, but I somehow doubt whether Lowe will consider earlier policies a mistake. I fully expect all the blame will be laid firmly at Jan's door. -
You didn't answer his question though, did you? You claim Lowe's conduct was "professional" and yet you then claim he read it out "on purpose, to rub Crouch's nose in it". That's hardly "professional" is it?

There's no guarantee that anyone will do a good job elsewhere. However if they've been sucsessful elsewhere it leads me to believe they'd have been so at Saints.Had SAF gone to Newcastle instead of Man U, would he have had the same sucsess, proberly not, although it's inconceivable Newcastle wouldn't be better off then they are now. Being in Preston's postion now as opposed to Everton's, Moyes is exactly the type of Manager we need (that's the Moyes at Preston). We had someone similar in Nigel Pearson (in my opinion), and Lowe let him go. There's no guarantee that Pearson will become a Moyes, and do a good job for someone in the Premier League, however there's more chance of him doing it than Wotte.........

I can not see that sort of support (Pompey Post) whilst Lowe is at the helm. The spirit was alive and well for last season's Sheff Utd game, despite a god awful season. Supporters were united, together and got behind the team all game. Lowe destroyed that stright away. I can not see it returning with, him, Wilde, and the people propping him up, still at the Club..........
-
The longer Lowe stays, the more unluckier we seem to get.
-
I heard it as well. Our only slim chance of staying up is if Saga goes on the type of scoring run he had 2 years ago, he's not going to be able to do that from the bench.

everyone has accepted we are in league one next season

Bloody supporters have cost us another 3 points again........... -
They don't make them like they used to, Ron Davies story.

Some of ours wouldn't get in the local park side nowadays, whether they wanted to play or not. -
Didn't Crouch work for nothing last season? If so, this proves there are people who'll put the Club and it's financial problems ahead of personal gain.
-
Did Crouch get any severance pay when he left?

CN had the hardest job going replacing Lawrie. Not only had we massively overacheived and signed players beyond our wildest dreams, but the people running the Club were never going to back him as they did Lawrie. This may sound corny, but I always thought of CN as like George Harrison in the Beatles, with Lawrie and Ted as Lennon and Macartney. Looking back Harrison wrote some great songs, however he suffered in comparison to the other two. CN was always going to be put in the shade, following the great men, however take his record against the others that followed and it's pretty good.

He didn't go on holiday during the season either.

From memory I'm sure all PLC Clubs have to inform the stock market of changes in major positions at the Club. I'm sure Clubs have waited until the stock Markets open to announce Managers have gone in the past.
-
I agree, the line was always "he OFFERED to pay himself". Did anyone see confirmation he did pay it?
-
There isn't another Chairman in the top 2 divisions who would have appointed JP, let alone kept him on after his performance so far.
-
I dont believe Coventry are in a bigger mess than us, in fact I find it a bit strange that anyone could think they are..........

Thanks, however there's one question perhaps you could answer. Leaving admin without a CVA carries a 15 point additional penalty from the League. As you say Football League rules state all Football creditors need to be paid in full, to stop teams signing/paying players they cant afford. My understand is that this is the aspect that the IR object to, and hense their stance on CVA's connected to football Clubs. Would it be possible to pay all football creditors off in full and the IR. Would this solution mean the Revenue would drop their opposition to a CVA, and therefore we would avoid the points deduction.

Or SCW's What about Pulis? Forecast?

Ouch so we didn't want Jack Cork enough?
Lord Duckhunter replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
If it's down to money, there's rumours that Watford are in severe financial difficulties. Perhaps they thought these would be made worse by another relegation, and are therefore carefully spending a little bit extra on players that'll improve their situation. This is the sort of approach we took at the end of last season, with Wright,Lucketti and Perry. Now we're a bit more "progressive" and "visonary", we take an altogether different approach....... -
what is lowe getting out of being here?
Lord Duckhunter replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Be fair, the guy said if he COULD make a profit in League 1, he would rather that than a loss in this league. The point is, Lowe is not bothered by anything but money, the sooner people realise this the better.
