Are you both just trying to make me angry! Three first team players, in their SAINTS prime, like I've bloody well underlined and put in bold in the ****ing OP, to avoid exactly that kind of idiocy. Pack it in! First two idiots only put in two players and one picks players I especially mentioned as not being at their post-saints prime! ****S!
-
Taking our current first eleven as Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Wanyama Schneiderlin JRod Lallana JWP Lambert which three past players, in their saints prime (especially relevant for the likes of Bale or Shearer, who hit their prime at other clubs), would you swap into that team to improve us most? It doesn't really work to just name your three favourite players, would MLT really manage our high pressing game? Would Killer complement Lovren best, or be too similar? You may love big Ivan, but is Clyne the best player to replace? Jimmy Case was great, but was he really so much better than Schneiderlin or Wanyama? Keegan would be a good bet, with good fitness, control and team play, we could also get either a clinical finisher like Davies or a fast, skillful player like Pahars. So what's your eleven with your choice of any three saints greats added to our current team?

Next thing we know they'll be refusing to allow words like **** and **** on here! Luckily the people who run saintsweb would never be that PC gone mad.

Because he had something to say? Do you never post on threads where you disagree with the OP's viewpoint?
-
Eh? His responses were directly in reference to what you posted. Then you asked him about praying, you weirdo, where does praying come into it? What are you rambling on about? He didn't mention prayers at all. If you keep making yourself look such a tit here and on the main board, you're going to need another new identity pretty soon.

has he been moaning? I have honestly completely missed that. Where was he moaning and what did he say?

Just bought a season ticket for my nearest slope, just under an hour from Bergen. Not the biggest or most exciting place, but it's nice to be able to a few times a week.

He needs to get a few games in a run, we're known for laying a particular system and he's getting very little time playing that system in competitive matches. Lambert has been struggling to make an impact lately and it seems a perfect time to give osvaldo a few starts. Not all new signings settle into the team by being given substitute appearances every couple of weeks, he needs to build a chemistry with players like JRod and Lallana. If he gets that chance for four or five straight matches and can't make anything of it, then we'll be in more of a position to judge. JRod has been given infinite patience, he has played regularly since he arrived, despite having a scoring record worse than Ramirez. He went through long periods having little or no impact, but is only lately starting to look like a player even close to the value we paid. Let's give osvaldo a bit of a chance too. Wanyama started pretty poorly too, but MP stuck with him and the more he started, the more he started to look like the real deal.

How do you rate our options upfront & can we rely on them?

I'm just trying to think if MP has shown any willingness before to bring in players previously frozen out? I can't think of any. Now gaston's out, he seems to be far from MP's plans, same for puncheon, lee and our other strikers. Sam Gallagher is the extra striker he's talking about now, so I assume mayuka stands little chance, although we as fans got to see little of the reasons for that. I agree with what most on here seem to have said, that osvaldo needs a run to get himself properly established in the team and it should probably be at the expense of Lambert, who, despite still being class and an important player for us, will probably have a diminishing impact for us as his age starts to tell. despite being an under-achiever as far as goals go, JRod does fit into our system well and plays an important part, but you do have to wish he could score a few more. If he could be a bit more clinical, we may well have hit the top spot this seasons, albeit briefly. -
Clyne, JRod, Wanyama, JWP and Shaw all playing pretty well. Be amazed if Wanyama gets through the game uncarded though.

A thread of helpful things for expats

don't use expat shield, go to mediahint.com and follow the simple instructions. You'll have quick and reliable access to iplayer etc within a couple of minutes. -
http://www.newsinenglish.no/2013/11/21/oslo-passed-lost-wallet-test/ So a journalist dropped 20 wallets around the city, each containing about thirty quid plus change, a bank card and enough info to track down the owner. 15 of 20 were returned, 12 of them intact. At first I was impressed by that, but actually it really highlights our low expectations of other people's honesty, that we are happy to hear that only about 25% of people would steal from us if they got an easy chance. It's also worth noting that in the same test in 1996, all wallets were returned. What do you think? Would you return it? Are these results impressive or saddening?

What this country needs is more paper salesmen, like Turkish. Who wouldn't aspire to such a job? -

For anybody who wants to watch iplayer or similar abroad, google "mediahint", it's made the whole thing really easy now, you just add it to your browser and never think about it again. It also allows you to access US Netflix, which is far better than netflix in any other country. -
After having seen his posts, does it tell you something about your own posting style? This is somebody who is perceived to be just like you, to the extent many find you barely distinguishable. Perhaps it's a good insight for you into the person you really are as opposed to the person you see yourself as.

I've only read a couple of chapters of the second book and it's even obvious to me it's Kitson and that the club and fans he's expressing so much dislike for is Pompey.
-
This sort of thing just makes me concerned whether that battery got charged up in time or not.
-
I've just started reading that, very clearly about Pompey, so it must be him. They don't come out of it looking good, including the fans.
-
It tells us a bit about how good a manager MP is when we see how average our players can look in another team. Our team is probably greater than the sum of its parts.
-
That bit was great to read: but it was interesting to see his expectations too: Nice interview, I hadn't heard comments like those about how much the players prefer things under MP before.
-
No, perfect for a cosy evening in with a good bottle of red too.

We're doing well, but I think we need to be a bit realistic about the sort of player who'll be willing to join us when they know they'll probably be back up. We might get a better keeper, although they probably won't really be significantly better than the two or three we have. I don't think we'll sign a much better defender than Fox and Yoshida/Hooiveld when they know they'll probably be second fiddle. We are almost better sticking to the cover we have, players who already feel like part of the squad and youngsters keen to come through and be the next Shaw or JWP. it's easy to look at last week' spoor cup game and say that our second string aren't good enough, but there's a world of difference playing lots of second and bringing in one player who will slot into a sharp and functioning team. You wouldn't have picked cork out of that team, but we know that with the right players around him, he is good enough.

Yep, make my own as you can't buy it many places here. Plenty of garlic. I have it most weekends. The only problem is that it goes so ridiculously well with red wine that we get through bottles three times as fast when we have hummus alongside. Usually just eat it with raw carrots, but it's great with pitta. The main dilemma is whether or not to shell the chick peas. It's well worth doing if you have the patience, because it makes the hummus far, far better. Only worth doing with large ones though, too fiddly with those tiny ones. Basic recipe I follow is one tin/box chick peas, two tbs tahini, 2 or 3 garlic cloves, juice of half a lemon, good olive oil, salt and pepper. Then you can experiment with adding other stuff like cumin or cayenne and stuff.

He just predicted us to win only one more match before Christmas and to fall to 9th.
