Well, the fact is that we are currently in the race, we are massive outsiders, but we're clearly in there. People on here mostly won't say that, because being optimistic or positive and ending up wrong is miserable and you'll be sneered at as delusional, people will go on about it constantly, but being negative and being wrong means that afterwards you can just dismiss it with "delighted to have been proven wrong" and anybody who goes on about it is a moaning idiot. So it's no surprise most on this thread have quickly dismissed the idea. frankly, I'd still be delighted with anywhere in the top half' including tenth, and would look back very happily on the exciting days when we were third after 11 and playing amazing football.

How are people feeling about the arsenal game? A draw is probably best in the long run, fewer points shared out by our rivals. A man it'd win means top spot is possible next game, but puts united back in the hunt to overtake us too. Arsenal win keeps united out of it and top spot is pretty unlikely anyway. i'd prefer a draw.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 4-1 Hull City
norwaysaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
For once it's very unlikely we'll drop places after Sunday's games too. Great match, one player that I thought was immense, but haven't seen it mentioned was Clyne, I hope Hodgson noticed. Every goal including the penalty was spectacular today. It's a shame JRod couldn't finish with the goal he deserved, but only an idiot could have missed how big a part he played. Excited to see what happens next week, Arsenal were the team that absolutely humiliated us last season, it'll be interesting to see if we can hold our own against them now, especially if they lose badly tomorrow and we're playing to go top... -
It is a problem with our rapid development that we are now seen as "big" enough to attract some better names, but I don't think we're really big enough that we can expect players of real quality to want to stay and warm our bench for long periods. Cork is a great player and I find it incredible that we are able to put out a midfield that leaves him as second choice. We will know we are really getting somewhere when we have players of his class as back-up to all positions, but at the moment he doesn't even get a match from any kind of squad rotation and he's really in the prime of his career. He surely won't be satisfied to be out of the team long term, he was mentioned as a possible England call-up last season, so his career's taken a big step through no fault of his own. It would be a big shame if he felt he had to move on, but I don't see us as big enough to hold onto him as a reserve yet. Hope he stays though, he played every single match the season we came up and was a key player last year. He'd be a regular starter for many other PL teams.

That's the only one I've found, but it's pretty poor.
-
Only found one, very poor, working link so far. Every other link ends up at Villa and WHU. Anyone coping better?

I considered getting this at the start of the season, but thought I'd wait and see how it went. To be honest I've been so happy with the free streams that I haven't even considered paying for it. seems a mixed bag reading through this. Must be annoying if it juddered, my stream yesterday was smooth throughout.

Snide comments again? Will you be calling people silly derogatory names again as well soon?
-
Quite interesting to look at their forum, I'm surprised they're generally quite sure they'll beat us and most seem to think that man for man their team is better or as good, except for up front. http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/board/2/stoke-city-fc we could lose to anybody on the day, but I'm surprised our defensive record means so little.

Eh? You write that like you haven't been responsible for a good portion of them. Or are you being ironic and it's going over my head?

Liberalism supports freedom of the press, Barry. by the way I think your decision of what liberals are like is quite flawed. I've met many people fundamentally opposed to liberalism who display those characteristics. I'd say the whole righteous indignation thing is something I'd associate with people as far right as the Tea Party more than the average liberal. i think your own prejudices are clouding your judgement. You seem to set yourself up as quite the conservative, which is generally how you come across on here. Is that where you'd place yourself?
-
I'm not offended, it's just a shame your posts are dominated by name calling. Does it make a difference how long it's been used? I see you couldn't help finish with a snide remark again either. Try entering a discussion without name calling, see if you manage.
-
What does it all have to revolve around name calling with you? It makes it pointless to engage. Come back when you have the maturity to enter a debate without silly derogatory name calling and snide remarks.

What is the average height/weight of the posters on here?
norwaysaint replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Muppet Show
I don't think the sample group of one that's available to you is really enough to extrapolate. Still, it's given us an insight into the life of Barry Sanchez. -
Well, isn't it?

I think we need to make a decision, is he most like a young Scholes or a young Beckham, maybe a poll?

You sign Whittingham, we sign Pochettino....
norwaysaint replied to Saint Mikey's topic in The Saints
No problem with people singing what they like, I'm all for it, I just imagine it's an ego boost for Pompey fans to hear their team still being sung about in the top tier. I'd be delighted if we were down there, but I still heard our name loud and clear on MOTD. -

If I were a Pompey fan, about the only heartening thing these days would be still being sung about loud and clear in the premier league every week. Thousands of saints fans who should be celebrating the best team and the best football in thirty years still thinking about Pompey while they watch their team. It must give them a lot of hope and pride to hear songs like that. if saints fans stopped singing about Pompey, that would hurt them far more, but no, we have to keep telling them how important and relevant they are to us every week. -
Incredible to be third when we've already played Liverpool and United away. Poor Boruc has been faultless all season, but never gets the chance to stake a claim for MoM. I actually am one of those who rates Ramirez, but I'm not sure that he fits in with such high intensity play. I wouldn't start him over JWP or Davis either. Lovren, once again, also deserves a shout for MoM, but went a bit more unnoticed as it was a day for our attacking players to show off.
-
I've questioned JRod's ability before, but he was my MOM, followed by Lallana and Wanyama.

Watching that reminded me of playing FIFA with the difficulty level notched down.

Not really anything I'd change as I find it amazing that a person like me has got everything I've got, Even the bad decisions are ultimately tied in with getting where I am. I didn't do anything especially worthwhile when I took a couple of years out, I just worked so that I could afford to go to uni, but I had a bloody good time during those years and I'd do the same again. Wife's 6 years younger so I had to have a few crap relationships before I met her at the right age. Although I did turn down a threesome with two girls when I was seventeen, 25 years later and the chance never ever cropped up again... Also, for a few years I was one of those crap "social smokers", who go on about how they only smoke a few on a night out. That seems so pathetic and stupid when I look back, so I'd change that.

Have you tried " the new 'my name.' freeforums.org? Or maybe even googling my name?

He didn't say it was different. Maybe their generation of gifted players will do better than ours, maybe it won't.
