  1. Found this pop-up ad while looking at something else. Might be useful.
  2. Japan 1 up after 25 minutes
  3. OOPS
  4. Just ask one of your passengers to pee on it for you then.
  5. As I see it, some anonymous characters have told Birch that they might be prepared to take the club on for the same pittance as Chinny, provided that they manage to acquire the surrounding Gaydamak land from the other administrator at a knock down price. Another property developer enters the fray. And it's fully supported by a non-binding letter from a bank which confirms that somebody in Dubai had $20m in the bank two weeks ago. As it has been said on here many times before, what could possibly go wrong?
  6. We had the game live on satellite here as well. As you say, he came on for the last half hour when Uruguay were already 3-0 down. They lost 3-0, not 4-0. GR was pretty solid when he came on. Strong on the ball, not easily muscled off it. He popped up on the left and the right up front, but also chased back well. He was all over the pitch, and apart from giving the ball away once playing out of defence by trying to be too clever about 25 yards from his own goal, he was IMO Uruguay's best player (along with Forlan). Their game against Ecuador on tuesday night is also on live here, so I might get another look at him. I liked what I saw, and his style of play looks good for the PL. A midfield including him, Morgan & Lallana is an exciting prospect.
  7. It's live on satellite here, I might take a peek.

To create opportunities for Chinese traders to sell bootleg shirts in flea markets across the world, of course.
  9. But on the basis that, according to Maskell: I don't see a long queue of property developers looking for a chance to be involved in a scheme which doesn't have any, er, property development.
  10. Put Marigolds on first, though.
  11. No sweat, there's nearly 2 hours left Seriously though, I know there are reasons why, and if I knew what they were I'm sure I would agree with them, but I'd feel a whole lot better if Büttner was wearing our red shirt rather than theirs.
  12. Sorry, quoted wrong post above. Bloomin' 'eck. 1500 pages into 5 lines. Although, to be fair, a great deal of those pages are dedicated to following the hilarious attempts to turn a football club back into 18m.
  13. Been away for a couple of days, but I sense you're getting a bit het up, Nick. Look at it this way, they are in the pop-up toaster, and will, without a shadow of a doubt, pop up as soon as the last parachute payment has gone. It has always been this way, nobody has got away with anything. The root of the evil is the idiots who run the PL. They agreed to pay £48m in cash to every club that got relegated. They wrote it into their rules that they have to pay out the money in full, but they were pretty vague about who it should be paid to. Sorry, did I say idiots, I meant chairmen/owners of PL clubs. Sorry, my mistake.
  14. But we will get somebody as good as. Or better. The right way. Eventually.
  15. How many of our L1 team played today? Davis Fonte Schneiderlin Lallana Puncheon Guly Lambert Big step up, & they all took it.
  16. Premier League nuns only please, none of that lower league tat this season please
  17. Just read a post from one of ours on the main board, Kraken I think, who went to the game coz he got a free ticket.
  18. Faaaaaaaaakin' scummmmaaaaaah!
  19. Got 4 to choose from live on tv. West Brom Liverpool West Ham Villa Arsenal Sunderland QPR Swansea Then Newcastle Spurs later. Too many choices. I think I'll go for a bit of hoofball.
  20. In normal "how player's wages are quoted" terms, our offer to Ramirez is less than they were paying Ben Haim
  21. See Plymouth match reports
  22. A few random thoughts: 1. It must be costing them around £100k a month more to pay the PKF team to run the company rather than a new executive board + support staff commensurate with a L1 club with turnover c. £5m. That's £1.2m a year up in smoke. 2. Birch is simply giving the PST an opportunity to make him a proper proposal. Their previous business plan is in the bin, where it should be, because most of the assumptions proved to be wrong, and now they have a chance to see if they can come up with a real one. How long? Who knows. 3. Those "monthly rent a team" players are probably playing for next to nothing to keep themselves in the window while clubs are still recruiting for the season ahead. There is a recession on, and a lot of people inside and outside football have lost their jobs and had to take what they can get to keep their heads above water 4. Watch Chinny. He won't be chuffed that the first thing they've done is sign the players he told them not to sign. The only person to benefit from pushing them into liquidation right now is Chinny, even if it's HMRC that wind them up. Chinny has a fixed and floating charge as far as I remember, so that spare cash is his. Why oh why can't they see it coming? The best they can hope for is to be taken over by the PST, paying off the old clubs debts with ....... new debt? If they could just get past that "we have to play at Fratton Park" dogma they could have quite a bright future, and a lot of fun on the way.
  23. I don't think it will be quite that simple. Non-contract terms means that there is no contract, but the player is registered with the club until the end of the season. Registration can only be cancelled (for instance to allow the player to sign with another club) by mutual consent of both club and player. So in theory the club could refuse to release the player if he gets an offer. That's why so many players are rushing down to Portsea as fast as their Bentleys will take them. edit: Although Birch isn't proposing non-contract terms, he's proposing short-term one month contracts, which is nt the same thing
