  1. I think the value of a Prem return is easily overestimated. Yes, it's a cash cow in the sense that you get a guaranteed income for nothing, but clubs with the Skate's meagre infrastructure simply cannot compete long term without accruing dangerous liabilities. PFC in the Prem next year does not suddenly become a sensible investment. Serious investors in football clubs in recent years plough money in to clubs with infrastructure and potential, not those with a temporary cash flow and massive short-term liabilities. Like Dubai Phil said, they are destined to lurch from one dodgy owner to the next. And I'm not convinced Gaydamak is about to fold either.
  2. 'tis one of the better stadia in the division, TBF, but £23 does seem a bit steep.
  3. Trying to shaft Gaydamak really isn't a great idea for a number of reasons.
  4. I saw some beautiful horses in the Forest last weekend. I did not milk them.
  5. You numb-nut. Total and utter dinlo. Where do you think all the money received in loans went? It went on players and their wages. Where do you think the tax liabilities came from? They came from player's wages. You didn't go around taking loans for the sake of it - you took them to pay players. God, you're an idiot as well as an unpleasant turd.
  6. Christ almighty, how many mongers have been dragged out on the news today to say: "welfare cuts hit the poor more than the rich". FFS, of course they ****ing do you gimp-headed spazz-flob! It's a ****ing welfare cut.
  7. The problem with the vociferous lefties is that they are just so zealous. They're are blinded by some sort of weird religion/cult. It's indoctrination, it's sad and it's damaging.
  8. I'm not sure if "disgraceful" is the right word. I would say "retarded", personally.
  9. I would definitely start with Barnard. Whether Lambert or Guly partners him would depend on Lambert's fitness, I guess.
  10. Abso-flipping-lutely!
  11. Although funnily enough most polls I've seen online seem to come out with a total of at least 50% either in favour of the cuts or believing they are a necessary evil.
  12. Against Saints, probably Michael Bridges, Darren Huckerby or Duncan Ferguson.
  13. Aye. There is something so simple-mindedly pathetic about the, "the bankers caused this but the poor people will pay", line that angers me. We're talking about public spending cuts. Of course cuts in public spending will affect the poor more. Why? Because the poor rely on the state more than anyone else. "Fairness" etc is not relevant. This is not a normative thing it is an inescapable truism.
  14. Antonio Cassano. Complete headcase but utterly brilliant when he can be bothered.
  15. Predictably, the overblown and irresponsible hype has been far worse than the reality.
  16. His defending was pretty ropey at times but he was only 17 and it was obvious that wouldn't be his forte as his career progressed.
  17. Exactly. A full-back has no right to consistently be man of the match.
  18. Have some of that you thieving ****.
  19. Osbourne just pointing out that, even with the cuts, Government spending will increase over the next four years due to the interest repayment obligations on our debt.
  20. Fair play. Big society all round. Repsonsibility, duty, pragmatism and consideration.
  21. Defence spending should be savaged. We should contribute forces to NATO, UN etc in the same proportion as similarly sized Euro countries and apart from that we should mind our own business.
  22. Ahh, sorry, I didn't pick up on the Cameron dig. No doubt the private sector will pick up the people that it thinks have something to offer. I'm no economist either but evidently whether there is a net saving or not depends on a huge number of factors such as: mean time of unemployment, average wage of dismissed employees, savings on pension contributions, savings as a result of streamlined operations etc etc, blah, blah, blah. What would be a complete crime would be failing to address state sponsored inefficiencies and gravy trains at this time of economic difficulty.
  23. FFS - seriously, it's turning a tap on dearie. I don't agree with the attitude that if he couldn't get someone to do it as a favour he would let the tenant wait until Friday - that is indeed reprehensible and a dereliction of responsibility - but there is nothing wrong with getting someone who is not a fully paid up professional to turn a tap on. EDIT: and it doesn't look as though he was planning on making them wait anyway.
  24. You moral bankrupt, you spawn of the devil, shame on you and your ilk.
