  1. There it is again! Haha.
  2. with this on it!
  3. He was on Radio 5 between 9 and 10. Seemed like a decent bloke. Grateful we've given him a chance to train. He's impressed with how fit we are!! Says he has a point to prove. Could be a great signing IMO.
  4. You should attend hearings. Even if you can't afford representation. If you don't, the judge will assume you are a pikey scumbag. No offence meant, and I'm sure you're not - doesn't sound as though you are from your story. I'm putting it in those terms so you can see what it might look like to a room of people who don't know you and only hear one side of the story. As you've found out; if you don't turn up the other side are also more likely to obtain whatever costs order they ask for.
  5. ROARS OF LAUGHTER! What a bunch of wags.
  6. The "Soton FC" could be changed to "Markus Liebherr" actually: "Markus Liebherr gonna set my soul gonna set my soul on fire Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn to take the Saints up higher Liebherr, Las Vegas!" There you go - that's quality. Not insulting, safe for all the family and I didn't mention the war.
  7. Original, I like it.
  8. Actually, no I don't. That's ****ing mint.
  9. "Ohhhh, Markus Liebherr He used to be a German but he's alright now." Only joking, I like Germans. "Liebherr" sounds a bit like "Viva" - maybe something to the tune of Viva Las Vegas.... "So'ton FC gonna set my soul gonna set my soul on fire Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn to take the Saints up higher Liebherr, Las Vegas!" etc I apologise.
  10. Exactly. He is a "hole" player, but unlike MLT, Gazza, Rooney etc. he can't kick the ball very well and so is unlikely to ever score.
  11. Haha - that is how such an overwhelming amount of guff gets posted on here. A tells B. B tells C and D. D tells A. A feels more confident and tells C. C likewise, who has in the meantime told F, G and H. H has also heard it from B and posts something on here. D, C, A, F and G corroborate it on here. The Echo runs with it.
  12. Trant? Construction link? EDIT: He wasn't on PLC board actually? Was he? Dunno. Oh, I see, you've said Oldknow.
  13. Well up for it but some plonker has organised a sodding stag weekend for then. Will have to make do with Ajax for now.
  14. He's ****e anyway and, like Surman, is a Champ player at best. If we can get over £1m for him I'd be delighted. Someone should give Mick McCarthy a ring as he seems determined to buy loads of lower league players.
  15. What the devil are you talking about? He played his entire career in the top division. Apart from one good season at Blackburn, Shearer won sod-all in domestic football. I can only assume you are referring to international football? Hardly MLT's fault if he wasn't picked; I think most people would agree he was good enough to have earnt more than 8 caps.
  16. I would suggest that the following may have happened: Pinnacle originally had interest from some wealthy people and were able to demonstrate proof of funds at an early stage (bear in mind "proof of funds" is just that; you don't have to commit the funds, just show they are potentially available). Pinnacle went public and were associated with MLT (whether MLT was entirely comfortable or not, who knows). For whatever reason the rich people withdrew. There were other serious bidders (like our dear friend Mr Liebherr). The wage deadline was approaching but the other bidders weren't ready to cover any payments. Pinnacle, having gone public were desperately trying to salvage their deal and managed to persuade someone to stump up a deposit (which may have been less than the originally touted £500,000 if Fry was getting desperate). Fry had no choice but to accept or wind-up, and had to give Pinnacle exclusivity in return. It became clear that Pinnacle no longer had any funds but other bidders had naturally assumed they were serious vis the deposit and, in any case, didn't want to go toe-to-toe with MLT. Fry gave Pinnacle every opportunity but they couldn't complete. The other bidders were still interested... And here we are! So all-in-all, if that is correct I would say a tremendous "well done" to Fry for keeping the other parties interested during Pinnacle's exlusivity. Of course, that is just guesswork based on what has come out so far. Nothing sinister. Nothing needing "investigation". Just a failed deal and then a completed deal. That's business.
  17. I reiterate that Burley is irrelevant; this thread is about alleged morons and their opinion on administration (delivered to you by R Lowe esq.). If you ask me, it is quite a moronic trait to drone on about something with a ****-poor line of argument ad nauseum. Banging on about 1.54 points really does make you look a bit odd. No one in my lifetime, other than Burley, has ever had a transfer budget comparable with the biggest hitters in our division in which they managed. Promotion was a realistic target; we didn't get it. That's failure of sorts, whether abject, unlucky or partial. 1.54, 1.54, 1.54 is stupid, infantile, myopic garbage.
  18. This alledged "fan split" hardly ever manifests anywhere other than on dicussion fora IMO. You rarely see a "split", before, during or after a match. Clearly unanimity is an elusive beast but a "split" such as would have a detrimental effect? No. I agree about the lack of celebration... I suppose this has been rumbling on for so long that a "Eureka" moment was bound to happen eventually. If this is completed and things look good I predict a real mood of celebration at the Ajax match though.
  19. Burley is completely irrelevant to this thread. It's a shame you had to bring him up.
  20. Great reply; it really cuts to the core of our disagreement.
  21. This thread isn't about whether or not Alpine is a moron (I'm sure we all have our views on that). It was about whether people were still happy. Now... seeing as it seems we are about to be owned by a succesful billionaire who doesn't have any negative connotations (dodgy money, despot etc..), I'd say it's gone better than anyone could have hoped. Don't forget that whether people wanted admin or not, it was Lowe that delivered it (along with another relegation).
  22. I have to say, League One on minus 10 beats another season of Lowe's crap easily.
  23. Er, everyone knows our poorest ever player is Lee Todd.
  24. Rather strangely and somewhat disarmingly, I find myself in agreement with the above two posters!
