Mixed feelings about the FA Cup this year. Would love to have got an absolute minnow, for the laughs but really can't see the point. We should save ourselves for the league and the JPT IMO.

We must do everything we can to sign this lad in January. He has the potential to be the bedrock of our defence all the way through L1 and the CCC. Well done to Pardew, not just for this but for everything so far. What a refreshing feeling to have a competent manager and leadership from top down. I'm looking forward to our next match already. It's been a long time coming!

He has improved a lot but I still think he will struggle defensively at times this season and certainly in the CCC. That said, if he continues to contribute heavily to us scoring loads then it's a fair trade-off!

Been raining here (pretty near town) all morning and is very grey and gloomy. No danger of a postponement but likely to lead to a more unpredictable match IMO.

I was going to suggest The Pensioners. Will probably get pretty crowded near match-time but should be ok around 12:00 and is sort-of (not really-ish) en route. Food is pretty cheap and it's more of an "old man boozer" (no offence anyone ) than a chavvy skank factory like Yates'.

I think it's all just a bit tired now. I usually enjoy the Beeb's World Cup coverage though. Scenic studios. I love the World Cup.

Terestrial football coverage in general is pretty shocking IMO. How often does a pundit / commentator / presenter tell you something you didn't already know? When you watch other sports, those people actually add something. It's rare in football. I'm not sure if this is related to the intellect of people in the football industry or whether it's related to the broadcaster's perception of the intellect of those who watch.

You get teased because you're hilariously obssessed and it really does make the mind boggle. I am one of the teasers but I do welcome your posts as they make me laugh. I'm sure most of other teasers feel the same and it's good natured.

They are definitely good enough to pick up points but they just aren't doing it. Reminded me a bit of old-Saints today. They missed some golden chances and conceded two goals by messing up from set-pieces.
