I suppose the clown isn't a defector either, but I notice that his team are currently propping up the rest of La Liga.

That's true, going down is nothing compared to the PL. Still I think 10 in the first division and 8 in the second would be a better split. I'm sure the snowflakes in the first division could handle 4 extra matches.
-
Third near the end of the season with a chance of relegation? And what other league has 25% of its teams going down every year?
-
I can't make my mind up if he's underrated or overrated.

Who can forget the minute silence they gave us when we went into administration, while their fans held up red and white placards in our honour? It brought tears to my eyes at the time. It's only fair we reciprocate.

It shows how ridiculous it is to have 2 relegation spots for only 8 teams. This relegation threat to most teams was very predictable. If they want an even number of teams for the Div. 1 why not have 10 teams, with 8 in Div. 2? Matches today have turned out very nicely for Hants. For a while it looked like Lancs would win and Worcs could get a surprise win too. Now it looks like both will lose, along with Notts too. If that does happen any relegation threat will surely disappear. Adams is retiring, and Weatherley still struggling, so they do need to bring in players to address the opening batting problem.

Yes, that's exactly what's happened to Somerset: https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/45499310

Who plays alongside Ings vs Brighton?

Ah, the mistress. One of our most overrated players ever (just behind Frannie).
-
Or a points deduction.
-
Take a bow Abbott: match figures of 11-71.
-
Somerset scored 222 from both innings. If they win this would that be a record low total for a winning team (with no forfeited or declared innings)?

Here's a report on that one. http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/8052/report/492130/hampshire-vs-nottinghamshire-county-championship-division-one-2011 It actually was only 3 days, as the first was washed out. Interesting stats: one player (McKenzie) made 96 not out, and in Notts' second innings chase they had a stand of 130 for the fourth wicket. And the pitch was considered poor with a points deduction. Seems very arbitrary to me.
-
Not sure how it works, but if it's over in 2 days I wonder if questions will be asked? Anyway, a slender lead. If Hants end up having to chase anything over 100 to win I fear a collapse, especially with 2 tail-ender level batsmen opening.
-
A featherbed pitch would've been nice, with a draw a useful result. Instead it looks like a 2 day match, with a possible points deduction.
-
Which would've added to his decent England tally. And some here think he isn't good enough for us.
-
Yes, I'll take that.

Not to mention "infinitely better" than Puel (8th and a thrilling cup final, inheriting a squad stripped of Mane, Pelle and Big Vic).

I wasn't lucky enough to be there, but I always consider that to be the 2nd greatest Saints goal. No stream in those days of course, and not even commentary here in the USA. Had to tune into the crackling BBC world service for the final results, knowing that a loss (even a draw) would be curtains. No updates, I had no clue what was going on. Then it came in .. Norwich 4 (slight pause, "****ing hell, that's it, we're down" flashed through my mind) ... Southampton 5 (WTF???) Great thread BTW. -
Shaping up for another bridesmaid not the bride season for "world class" Poch.

I thought overall Hoedt had a good game, along with the rest of the defense and McCarthy. Midfield was very good. Deserved win.
