  1. That's fair, and about time. It was ridiculous that teams going deep into a cup or cups had a higher risk of more yellows/reds carrying over into the league.
  2. When he was Cuco.
  3. Isn't Højbjerg banned?
  4. Thanks to Markus. Relegation 15 years ago was a disaster. Relegation now would be a catastrophe, and for most clubs. I envy sports teams here in the USA. No relegation to ever worry about, and if they're shit one year they get top draft picks as a reward. (It does mean though that teams like the San Diego Padres are content to be shit forever.)
  5. You mean apart from the first 55 minutes?
  6. Clown in the opposite dugout vs. Saints P.3 W.2 D.1 L.0 P.S. Did I mention 8th and Cup final?
  7. Yes. Just like what Dawson and Abbott did!
  8. FIFA are working on that. 48 teams after Qatar, and I wouldn't be surprised if it goes up 64 soon after.
  9. On the left side.
  10. Oh You Pretty Ings - David Bowie Sick Ings - Alice Cooper (when injured again).
  11. In Cedric's case, not much. Someone earlier had posted his awful assists stats for the last 3 seasons. And a grand total of 1 goal.
  12. As a Scottish manager once said (can't remember who, but not WGS), when asked about his main striker: "He can't pass, can't tackle, can't track back. He's useless. All he does is score goals." Sounds like our Charlie.
  13. Thanks. I signed up and was able to watch it on delay (didn't fancy getting up at 5:30 am!)
  14. As others have said, he plays his best when kept away from the left. Play him central or on the right please Sparky
  15. McCarthy or Vestergaard for me. Both excellent (apart from one hair-raising pass by McCarthy).
  16. Agreed. First half he was anonymous, but second half I thought he was very good.
  17. What we have been told is that this is a loan preceding an obligation to buy. In other words we've to all extents and purposes bought him, with the loan being a technicality whose reasons have been discussed. And no sale of players ever have come with a money-back warranty. The only strings ever attached with player sales are add-ons (number of appearances, etc.), which would only save us a small percentage of the fee if he blows out a knee in the next year or later. It's possible that the obligation to buy at the end of the loan has some injury get out clause for Saints, but why would they keep this secret?
  18. Did they generally have all the Saturday Saints matches available for replay? That is the make or break for me to fork out the $50 or whatever it costs now.
  19. Rather sad I'm hoping for the weaker (relegation candidate) teams to lose. Newcastle lost and Cardiff, Fulham, Huddersfield, and Brighton all currently losing.
  20. It does indeed seem there is no contingency in the deal for any serious injuries. Suggestions otherwise is wishful thinking. Fingers crossed that he and Austin form a good partnership: taking turns with one available on the pitch while the other is in the treatment room. Two half loaves is as good as a whole one!
  21. That's what I'm hoping for, and it certainly would be the logical thing to have done. But it's Les Reed we're talking about....
  22. Not as cheap as I would've liked. But any semi-decent injury-prone striker is better than nothing (or the donkey). I hope if he scores he doesn't celebrate with one of these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ck7tFH9R1kE
  23. You missed the biggest positive. The clown is gone. Ok, a bit before the summer, but close enough.
  24. That really is bloody awful, especially considering for the last 2 seasons he has been first choice RB. Cuco got a lot of stick, but he put in a lot of quality crosses. It was clear that he was much better at it than Cedric, and from the above stats that Cedric hasn't improved over the last 2 years.
