I don't understand why people here are so desperate for Saints players being picked to play for England. If they do, they are off (Bertrand being an exception, presumably because he came here as a big club reject, and also maybe because he has outside business interests). Having players who are almost, but not quite, good enough for England is ideal for a club our size (and having owners chomping at the bit to cash in on the family jewels).

Saints have quite a history of sacking decent managers and replacing them with disasters: Nicholl -> Branfoot Luggy -> Wigley Pearson -> Dutch duo Puel -> The Clown

So we're (nearly) all agreed then. He's a lovely guy and a ****ing awful manager.

You forgot to add that we'll probably lose. I'll happily settle for a draw, along with a Cardiff loss to Chelsea. Same as penalty shootouts, but with a goal kick if saved. Good idea if true. I would also make the penalty taker be the one who was fouled (or who last hit the ball if hand ball). Only someone else if he goes off injured.

Interesting, didn't know that about Sanchez and Aguero. Inexcusable that they haven't bothered to learn the language after all these years. They can afford to hire the best teacher if they need one.
