  1. Here's a report on that one. http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/8052/report/492130/hampshire-vs-nottinghamshire-county-championship-division-one-2011 It actually was only 3 days, as the first was washed out. Interesting stats: one player (McKenzie) made 96 not out, and in Notts' second innings chase they had a stand of 130 for the fourth wicket. And the pitch was considered poor with a points deduction. Seems very arbitrary to me.
  2. Not sure how it works, but if it's over in 2 days I wonder if questions will be asked? Anyway, a slender lead. If Hants end up having to chase anything over 100 to win I fear a collapse, especially with 2 tail-ender level batsmen opening.
  3. A featherbed pitch would've been nice, with a draw a useful result. Instead it looks like a 2 day match, with a possible points deduction.
  4. Which would've added to his decent England tally. And some here think he isn't good enough for us.
  5. Yes, I'll take that.
  6. Not to mention "infinitely better" than Puel (8th and a thrilling cup final, inheriting a squad stripped of Mane, Pelle and Big Vic).
  7. No Solent commentary sorry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHOKhyhBjnY&feature=player_embedded
  8. Hopefully. 120-8 at close, with the tail wagging a bit.
  9. I wasn't lucky enough to be there, but I always consider that to be the 2nd greatest Saints goal. No stream in those days of course, and not even commentary here in the USA. Had to tune into the crackling BBC world service for the final results, knowing that a loss (even a draw) would be curtains. No updates, I had no clue what was going on. Then it came in .. Norwich 4 (slight pause, "****ing hell, that's it, we're down" flashed through my mind) ... Southampton 5 (WTF???) Great thread BTW.
  10. Shaping up for another bridesmaid not the bride season for "world class" Poch.
  11. I thought overall Hoedt had a good game, along with the rest of the defense and McCarthy. Midfield was very good. Deserved win.
  12. He didn't dive!!
  13. We all know what comes next.
  14. He has played well the first half. Defense and midfield have been good so far. The question should be why are not one of Gabbi, Maya and Gallagher even on the bench?
  15. This is his best. Old, but still a classic.
  16. No play today, rain. So he can take the bus.
  17. Looks like Vince has been released by England, and can play against Essex?
  18. Yellow cards no longer apply to separate competitions, whereas straight reds do. But no-one seems to know if a sending off for 2 yellows crosses competitions or not. On the Total Saints podcast Adam Leitch thought he would've served it tonight, but he didn't sound totally convinced.
  19. Not sure, I'm missing it too. He just didn't start, but wasn't even on the bench.
  20. And I would argue that MP has a better squad (or at least first 11), one of the best Spurs have had for decades. He's a decent but no means world class manager. JM on the other hand is world class in winning trophies, whining, and getting the sack (and massive payoff) when he decides he wants off.
  21. If true that's ridiculous. Anyway, it was 2 yellows. Is the rule maybe just for a straight red?
  22. That's what Palace said last season. Oh wait ...
  23. 3 fat kids!
