Seeing Southampton recover to get a point in their game against Crystal Palace was another mark of their recent improvement. But the Clarets are unbeaten in the Premier League in 2019 and - as I have said before - I think the old Burnley are back. 1. Keeping Cedric and Gabbi as backups until the summer is not "spending beyond our means." (Or if it is, we're truly ****ed.) 2. We're not comfortably mid-table to allow us to gamble on youth and injury-prone players (or in some cases, players who are both).

Hoedt is the only one who was deadwood. The others are all capable backups until better players are brought in (Cedric and Gabbi in particular, where we are thin in those positions).

I don't remember anyone complaining about him being offloaded (apart from himself).
