I'm wondering why do some struggle with the difference between 'X did a poor job at this club' and 'X did a decent job at this club under the circumstances'.

It certainly was, and that's something we usually do very well. This shows we have a decent players in most areas (minus the gaping holes up front, and a possibly a VVD replacement). There's no reason that with a decent manager and plugging the striker hole that we can't get out of this mess.

That would be nice, but a goal scoring CF is infinitely more important (along with a non-clown manager of course).

What is the argument against VAR? That referees should have their eyes open and should never make mistakes? That it impedes the flow of the game? As if injuries, substitutions etc. don't? At the very least have it to verify any disputed penalty decisions and goals (disallowed like Gabbi's at Wembley, or given ones like today). Common Bloody Sense.
