  1. Neither have Lambert, JRod, Shaw and Lallana.
  2. Glenn Johnson is crap, but I'm glad he's in the squad, ahead of the far superior Nathaniel. Every player for us who gets capped for England gets sold within a year (MLT excluded of course).
  3. The article sums up the fears of most of us very well.
  4. Which means we need to quickly define Yakin as our red and white head coach before June 16.
  5. Of course, by the time we get a new manager there may only be a few kids left.
  6. Yep, probably means when we get a manager all further transfers will involve him.
  7. That’s why we have been able to not agree to any transfers to date, because we have control of the situation, and anybody who is saying anything else doesn’t understand that we are in a strong position with the Saints
  8. For them, or us?
  9. Any bad news here to cheer me up about our fishy friends? Over on the main board things have gone rather mental.
  10. Nerd mode: We can't play ourselves, so a probability of 1 chance in 19, i.e. odds of 18 to 1.

  12. My guess is: yes. Anyway, the good news is if we meet the North London Yobbos in the cup they'll be fielding a weakened team.
  13. Maybe without thinking he was texting Fernandes about new players.
  14. True, but my stepladder idea for the championship playoffs only loses two matches, gives third place a big advantage they deserve, while still making fourth-sixth places worth pursuing for many teams. For L1 and L2 the stakes are much lower, so their playoff formats could be kept as is. Edit: If Sky doesn't want to lose the 2 matches they could make the stepladder matches home and away. But that would mean 4 matches for the 5th or 6th placed team.
  15. Because they're not Man Utd, and they know they'll be pissing in the wind?
  16. I think they should be stripped of promotion. That'll cover the 50 million fine. Cheats.
  17. In order to replace MP?
  18. 20 years ago may have been fair, but with the vast amount of money involved now it would be rather unfair (in my opinion) if a team finishing sixth, 20 points behind third for example, scrapes through the playoffs. Knowing something in advance doesn't necessarily make it fair. If we can't scrap the playoffs at least give the third placed team a big advantage. Playing the second leg of a semi-final at home isn't a big enough reward IMHO.
  19. You can't compare American playoffs with promotion to the PL. If an American team screws up not making the playoffs they shrug their shoulders and try again the next year. Here not getting promoted (or getting relegated) means the difference between 50 or more million (and that's just in the short term). Life or death basically. Having said that, I can't see the Championship playoffs being scrapped. So I would suggest a fairer system: 5th plays a one-off against 6th (at home). The winner plays another one-off away to 4th. The winner of that meets 3rd at Wembley. That way 3-6 make the playoffs, but each higher position gets a significant advantage.
  20. So, any news? I want to get hysterical.
  21. Cambridge must be quaking in their boots. I feel sorry for them, they are probably wishing they never went up. Had to post on page 1959, year of my birth. Make sure, younger nutjobs, that you do the same over the coming months, as we hurtle towards the mythical page 2000.
