  1. They would if they could. Problem is the police have been hopelessly outnumbered in most places where it has kicked off badly meaning that the idiots are left free to do what they like - that's the most shocking thing. The police had to get on top of things in Tottenham on Saturday night but their weaknesses were exposed and comments by the met at the time about police cuts hurting them and morale being at an all time low highlighted their weaknesses for all to see. Thugs saw this and have exposed those weaknesses with sheer numbers. Tonight will be interesting. The police must show themselves to be in control and to be a force to be reckoned with otherwise every little scum bag at home is going to think they're missing out on free stuff which is what has happened so far. Keep the opportunist sheep off of the streets and the hardcore thug numbers suddenly don't look so clever. That has to be the number one priority of the police later today.
  2. Not very many based the footage I have seen.

Sod the game, who wants to join me in a bit of hooli-bashing tonight?
  4. Some quality comments on this thread but this is my favorite! :0)
  5. Saints have always done well on the counter but on Saturday we looked as though we had been working overtime on it. We countered with pace, movement (exploiting Leeds' weaknesses) and precision passing. Our players have an ideal combination of technique and footballing nouce to play on the counter. It got me thinking, with some pretty big clubs in the Championship I expect we'll see far more teams coming on to us at St Marys than they did last season. That will play right into our hands. I also expect us to pick up a lot of points away from home playing on the counter, especially with opponent's pitches being better than they were in Div 1. Watching West Ham v Cardiff and highlights of all the other games, I am beginning to believe that with our style of play we have nothing to fear in this league. We also have a pretty decent plan B, namely lump it into Lambo, but hopefully we'll not have to resort to that too often!!
  6. Did OK but we need a better CB this season to play alongside Jose. I wonder whether Martin would progress better out on loan in Div 1 (let's face it he's not played much competitive football in the last few years) or as a bit part player for us this season given our superior squad and training facilities. Tough one. Shame he didnt score against Leeds towards the end - that would have been great for him.
  7. Jemal is hot-headed and it remains to be seen whether he is stubborn enough to see this through. From what I have heard I suspect he is. The deal is not dead but looks highly unlikley now. Shame, he is a decent player although he does have the potential to disrupt squad harmony. Jaidi is right, this does look unprofessional and we all know how professionally our club is being run nowadays.
  8. The more I look at the teams this year the more I think we are going to finish mid-table. Leicester will be outstanding this year but West Ham may not do as well as people think. Birtmingham will be solid. There will be lots of teams better than ours scrapping it out for a play-off spot. A quality CB and forward really do look needed when you look at the other teams. Is anyone else looking forward to this season more than any other in recent years? I know I am - it's going to be a very good year for the Championship.
  9. Ah, the gamesmanship has begun. IMO this is a smokescreen. I read this as a hurry up for Jemal to make his mind up.
  10. Jemal is the new Skacel
  11. Youtube clips look great - I like players with quick feet. Good with both pegs and looks like he knows how to exploit space. If we can just get Jemal on the bus and drop Ox off in North London I reckon we're just about set. PS. I bet Lambo is licking his lips watching some of those De Ridder crosses.....if he can keep up with him that is!!! ;0)
  12. Spoke to my mate in the gym, who is Tunisian and knows Jaidi. Says he is a very good solid defender, quick and has an excellent left foot, kept saying he was very solid but sometimes might be a bit hot-tempered. Says he was very close to signing for Stoke but Stoke were unwilling to pay the money for him. Suggested Stoke may still be in the hunt but felt Jaidi's influence might just tempt him here. Said he reminded him of Jones, the lad who just went to Man Utd. Felt it would be a really good signing if true. After our conversation I was left feeling that Stoke are probably favorites still but lets see......
  13. Why would you want to rub two youth team players together?
  14. I agree mate. He's good but not THAT good. The player we must keep is Lallana - our results without him show how much he means to the team. I was sad when Theo and Bale left - both better players than Ox and Bale for me was the most irreplaceable by far (don't forget he was winning us games week in week out in the Championship at 17 playing left back!!!) but won't miss Ox. As for one of the posts above - I reckon Holmes could play right wing. Lallana favours cutting in from the left onto his right foot and Holmes could do likewise. He likes to come inside and get involved too, rather than sit hugging the touchline all game. Modern thought also says left foot on right wing and vice versa works well by giving good angled balls into the box (into the grey area between keeper and outfield players) and opens up the option to come inside and shoot.
  15. Not surprising given that he did well playing the best in the land a few months ago.......... I think it's a real shame that we never got to see the best of Punch but there ya go, some players are just like that
  16. I heard Cortese will not let him go for less than £1m.
  17. What we really don't want is a grumpy player afraid to get stuck in or put himself about because he's afraid of getting injured this year and losing his chance to play in the Prem. It'll be a tough one for Nige to handle but I reckon he's up to the task.
  18. I heard that the club have commissioned a statue of Punch and he has missed the Swiss bus to pose for it.
  19. I wouldnt be so sure.....
  20. I don't want Puncheon back, he's difficult to deal with.
  21. You love Ricky Martin.
  22. My pimp hand is way strong
  23. Between 5th and 8th. it will be a good season. Championship isnt such a massive step up from League 1, especially with the quality of our squad. A few good signings should see us be very competitive. I think a very good striker to complement those we already have would be key.
  24. She is allowed to view porn at work. FFS, if she stopped doing that perhaps she wouldnt need to frig herself every couple of hours.
