Charlton 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction
Junior Mullet replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Typical OTT reactions on here. Man U have off days, Arsenal regularly drop points, Chelsea had a whole string of poor games, Liverpool are having a poor decade. FFS guys, nobody wins all the time. We'll still go up second. -
This.

If you could say just one word to any Saints player past or present?

Good player. Bpwyer is also a good player to the guy who mentioned him up the thread. I would sign them both up - better than what we currently have. -
Always thought White was a quality player. Always reminded me of Dickov the way he niggled away at the oppos defenders. Good skill and scoring instinct too. Shame he didnt get the breaks here.

Hahaha, as if Fergie would sign OXO!! Man Utd are only interested in signing players of OXO's calibre if they can sell shirts in South America or the Far East FFS.

All down to money again mate - Wembley need the revenue after the massive overspend on the stadium.

It's a fantastic cup. It also gives some of the clubs with larger squads a chance to rotate things and play younger players which IMO is a good thing - look how Bart and Morgan performed on Saturday for example. Money in football at the moment is heavily geared towards league standings which means that the League is more important to the club's owners but I reckon most managers and players would still take an average season in return for a day out in May at Wembley.

Earliest age to take a child to a football match?

There's been a very young lad going to games this season, sat in the Itchen a few rows back to the left of the Saints dug-out facing the pitch. He could only have been about 1 yr old at the start of the season. Didnt look like he was even walking and yet I never noticed him making a fuss. -
We have a better squad by far than the squads we had for the last two CCC seasons. We could defo hold our own with this current squad. You only have to look at Norwich who we beat several times last year to see that with the right team spirit and aptitude we could actually push for promotion next season. There haven't been many changes to the Norwich squad form last year. Good spirit and the right manager can go a long way.

Break the bank and sign Danns in Jan please

The fact that Lampard even got a game for England at the World Cup was an absolute joke.
-
Spot on.

Just play him up front with Barney FFS.

Yes. To think how many kids have suffered in order to fulfil the sick demand of perverts like Andrew Rees-Long makes my stomach churn. Innocent victims should be protected. Football fans on a wind up are far form innocent.

SAINTS fans were “a picture of unadulterated aggression’’ using threats and gestures of violence to intimidate Pompey supporters after last season's FA Cup derby, a court heard. Southampton supporters gathered behind the fencing were “noisy’’ and “unruly’’ and were only there to bait Portsmouth fans. It was a derby game FFS. Now I don't condone throwing coins - especially if it leads to someone losing an eye but come on FFS, the court should disregard the above comments and anything similar - it was a derby....what did Pompey expect?

This thread made me hungry. Off to Burger King in a minute. I have vouchers expiring soon.

Not for me. The rest of the team would not be on the same wavelength. It is a team game afterall as most of the above posters seem to have forgotten.

L Mac, Le Tissier and Osman are doing a gig at the Salisbury Playhouse on (I think) 5th November with funds going to Salisbury City FC. Well worth the entry fee IMO. If you go, you too will e able to come on here and hint in a ITK kind of way about they say. Details on Salisbury City FCs website if anyone's interested.

We have missed Papa and Antonio this year. Last year they provided a pacy and direct plan B in games where we found it hard to break down the oppo. Failure to sign them both was a misjudgement IMO.
-
Pfft indeed. Are the youth games still open entry, anyone?

Baj and Steve Here are my suggestions. 1. Allow everyone, not just full members, to start threads and post as many posts as they like in the Saints forum. This should help the propoer football threads improve. IMO there is far too much rubbish in there at the moment, a lot of which is started by the same people. 2. Allow access to all other forums such as the Lounge to full members only, with the exception of any commercial or sponsored forums which you would be getting an income for. 3. Make more of commercial opportunities. So in short, improve the Saints chat forum and this site should retain its current position as the best site around which in turn will allow you to make the most of commercial opportunities. At the moment the site is in decline and IMO that's mostly due to the 3 post rule and no thread starting for non-members on the footballing forum. Come on Steve and Baj. Saints are on their way up. The Chairman and owners of our club seem to have great plans. Ride that wave and have the vision to see your site ride that wave with them. This site should be seen as an investment which could prove quite lucrative in time if Saints do achieve the goals the Chairman is setting for them. Thanks

A crowd pleaer but always made at least one error per game in important positions. Fonte is better.
