Episode 91 (post-Everton) - Total Saints Podcast
maxi_sopez replied to TotalSaintsPod's topic in The Saints
Great Pod. Informed discussion and felt that the everton de-brief could have gone on longer. Surprised no one said Ralph should go though... -
Bring back Puel. Seriously. The man got us to 8th in the league and it was largely the same players. To be honest I am sure I feel like most fans... over it. Bored of this sh!t. Do I care if we stay up? I guess, but who wants more seasons of this. Sadly when we go down, I don’t see us coming back anytime soon. The club is rotten. Hard to believe what has happened since Koeman days. Final thought was when England announced their u21 team this week not a saints player in sight. Remember when we used to fill those teams up... now nothing. Even the academy has turned to ****. Grim.

Decent article about saints and our troubles

Fascinating article and clearly The Athletic have a put a lot of work into it with how many journalists are credited. A really depressing read with so many sources (including players and staff) disillusioned. No real solutions offered either... can't help we are turning into the new Sunderland, it seems so rudderless at the moment. -
Unbelievable. Woke up down under at half time and went back to bed, genuinely thought there was a glitch on the bbc app when I checked final score... Can’t help thinking sacking Ralph is the wrong move, but I dunno. Who the hell do you bring in? Puel, Pellegrino, Hughes and now Ralph. Don’t think its the managers who are the problem but the players and the people running the club. a new manager I don’t think will change much... That being said losing 9-0 to Leicester at home is beyond belief so if he does go you can’t complain that much. Part of me is like a lot of you and doesn’t really care if we go down, maybe it is what we need. But I can’t help looking at clubs like Sunderland, Stoke and even Pompey and thinking we MUST stay up. Oh well only Man City next...

Just googled them and it revealed nothing. No twitter handle either bit strange for sports marketing... hmmm

Saints 1 Cardiff City 2 post match dissection
maxi_sopez replied to Crab Lungs's topic in The Saints
most alarming thing I thought was how the players reacted after we equalised. total headless chickens going gung ho for win. A calm head on the pitch was needed to tell them to calm down and take the point. So annoying. ffs -
Feels like a big big game. Win and we're 6 points from the relegation zone and I think will feel like we're waving goodbye to a relegation battle. Lose and I think it will feel very scary again! COYR.
-
I have no idea if replacing Hughes would work or not... but I feel his persistence with Austin sums him up. Worrying that this season is beginning to look like last, not sure if we will be so lucky this time. man the Adkins, Poch, Koeman premier league days were good, miss them.

A sub plot to follow having spoken to an Arsenal mate is their game on thursday night. We need Atletico to win, we want Wengers last game to be against Huddersfield with no final on the horizon. If they get to the final they will rest everyone against huddersfield. If they're out they will play first team v huddersfield and will be desperate to win for him! We need an atletico win

woken up down under and still not over it. that stung. Looked like the saints of old for first 60 mins, and then confidence just disappeared as soon as they got 1 back. Got to remember these lot were champions and still quality team. I dunno maybe I'm delusional but if we play like that in last 5 games we could get a few wins. But feels like it is all a bit too late! In other news 10,000 miles away in Sydney in a pub - Chelsea fans still the worst kind of people on the planet.
-
only good news being in Australia I said to myself if it is 3-0 at halftime I will go to bed. Cheers Marko. g'night

My fear is that the board will wait for Wigan and a likely win, then they can use the Wembley PR bullsh!t to whitewash the Pellegrino Out chat! That is a terrible idea. Surely they now realise it is now or never. If they don't why not? Tell us?
-
I genuinely think this squad is good enough to finish in the top half let alone finish above the relegation zone. I think most fans/pundits and statos agree. With that in mind SURELY it is obvious that the manager is the issue, and he has to go now, so we can get someone who can move us up the table. Luckily it is so tight that in the space of a few games we could be almost safe, but they can't wait much longer. I really think it is now or never.
-
I was at the G - was great to see so many saints fans and flags.
-
Maybe Michael O'Neil if Northern Ireland get knocked out this week? Has done an amazing job with them? I feel the more pertinent question is when will board pull trigger. If Everton, West Ham, Swansea and Everton could all be looking for managers will be hard for us to find someone!
-
Koeman would be ideal - but the bad blood means it won't happen. I think after we lose all these tricky games and we're near the bottom will need to get experienced manager in the premier league. So maybe big sam. bloody hell this is all so bleak
-
omg so bad. Pellegrino is totally clueless. Makes Puels team look like Brazil 1970. ergh Next 5 game so hard, we are in deep sh!t. Bring back Ronald please.
-
Went yesterday and like every other game I have been to this season... god it was boring. We were so flat, pedestrian, average and uninspiring. It was interesting in second half how quiet the fans were, looking around everyone looked so bored. That Brighton team was crap, we should be taking them to the sword. Something isn't right.
-
The most alarming thing for me is that we have had the easiest possible set of fixtures to start the season bar United at home. And we have been so disappointing. We are going to go on a trick run soon and we will lose a lot of games in a row. Fear we will start tumbling down the table. Surely Pellegrino needs to make some changes: Drop Forster for a few games, bring boufal in for Redmond and not play two DMs. If we don't get a win against wba then I really think it is time to panic.
-
Went yesterday. My biggest takeaway, and it wouldn't have changed if we got the draw is: God we are boring and predictable to watch. it was just so predictable pass it out wide, crap cross, repeat. I think this is is worse than last year. really boring. we desperately need some pace going forward!
-
Back home. although not a classic was pretty good. lemina was playing on another level to everyone else. so good. Hoedt looked solid as well. Still feel we were pretty tepid going forward. not convinced long is the answer.
-
truly awful. abject going forward. can't see anything MP has done to improve us.
-
when will forster be dropped. so bad
-
finally been dropped by England, maybe that will give him the kick up the arse he needs
