  1. I remember them announcing there'd be a minutes silence. Then, it wasn't silent at all, some moron from the P'boro fans shouted something, the players changed ends, then without any prompting (as far as i could tell) everyone broke into applause. very confusing!
  2. Worst chant = Do do do do! F***ing useless! I actually want to spoon out my ear drums when I hear that. I actually laughed at the "Steeeeve" "chant", much, much better than the above.
  3. We still need another Centre back in my opinion. I don't think we'll see Raidi again this season, and no idea when Seabourne will be back in action. And we absolutely MUST sign Jos in the window on a permanent deal. He's got better and better
  4. He's a c**t. Wouldn't fit into our mentality.
  5. Love it how it's entitled "Why teenager James ditched Pompey for Saints", and then doesn't give any hint of a reason as to why in the online article.
  6. I say play the kids. I honestly couldn't give a sh1t about the league cup
  7. lol - weirdly, I live in Reading, but am in Plymouth this weekend and need to find a suitable boozer to watch the game!
  8. If we were going to move for him, I'd be surprised if we didn't try and get him in on loan and make the transfer permanent in January to ensure that we got him.
  9. 100% agreed. Pleased he got a standing ovation when he was substituted, absolutely deserved (and maybe saved him from being sent off in the last 15 minutes!)
  10. Anyone else at the game last night think he was great? I thought he played extremely well, made some good runs, although the only criticism would be his tendancy to cut in onto his right foot. Very capably filled in for Lallana imo
  11. Two words - Michael Ricketts. Another two - Francis Jeffers.
  12. I'm happy we're not getting much of a mention. Until the media hypes us up, we're still underdogs doing very well. That's the way I like it. Expectation levels being low/neutral in the media keeps us grounded, and puts less pressure on the players
  13. lol - this is well funny. He was at Carlisle a couple of seasons back, did really well on his 6 month contract, then got all "billy big bollix" and signed for Swindon when they were doing well. What happened? Surely he'd get a league one team at least? lol Vincent, mega, mega lol
  14. Presumably "up for job seekers allowance"
  15. lol at Leon Best and Jake Thomsen being on there
  16. Hate to say it - but I think he'd be a great England boss.
  17. Why are they talking about us anyway? It's the equivalent to us starting a thread on Charlton, and saying what a great season they're having.
  18. Comically he tweeted this days after joining - straight on the banter!
  19. Well done Alex!
  20. Anyone else like the quote from the Echo? Beattie would "love" to return to Saints. One word quote. lol Doubt they've even spoken to him.
  21. Nope, it's a re-hashed joke from a couple of weeks back. Think the initial target was some American football team in the US
  22. I think it's very genuine. The lad could have just not said anything, in fairness. Worse, he could have "done a Kevin Phillips". I don't blame him for leaving, and I certainly don't blame Mr Cortese for selling him either. Every lad growing up now who loves football dreams of playing in the Premier League, and AOC is now different. I must admit, I didn't like the way AOC went to the national press saying he wanted to leave, but I expect that wasn't necessarily his idea...... Whenever he comes back to St Marys (hopefully next season when we go up....), I hope he gets a warm welcome.
  23. Last season, I was always the first on Hammond's back and I really didn't rate him, but he's been great this season, and this is just what he deserves. Great work Deano.
  24. I reckon Jos has the potential to become a cult hero, similar to our Claus. I read that whole interview with a Dutch voice in my head, it was hilarious!
  25. He's a very, very loyal character. I expect he'll be our manager for years to come. Remember when we took him from Scunny? He absolutely refused to move until compensation was agreed between us and Scunny - he said he wouldn't resign and therefore wouldn't let it go to tribunal. The clubs had to agree, or he was going nowhere. He completely earned my respect by doing that - and there's no doubt in my mind he'd do exactly the same should a "bigger" club come calling. Given he's on a 5-year deal now, a bigger club would have to stump up some serious wonga to take him off our hands.
