  1. Ladies, ladies, ladies. Our most recent accounts published last year, as I recall, showed us having a six to seven million pound deficit caused by our spending last year. Given our wealthy owners, this obviously wasn't too much of an issue. Cortese has always said he wants us to be sustainable. This is why we're not going to go spanking £6 million on a player, be it Gary Hooper, or whoever. The "chamberlain money" will have been partially used to plug last year's deficit, as well as funding the signings we've made so far this season. This isn't to say there's no money available for players - it appears we're being sensible this time around, rather than just spanking every last penny on the likes of a Rasiak, or an Idiakez.
  2. How about to the tune of "you're not very good": Tadanari Lee, Tadanari Lee, Tadanari, Tadanari, Tadanari Lee! Simple!
  3. This - I thought he was great too. In fact, I was there when Jesus crossed the ball to Pele, and he scored. Don't think there's a lot of people that can say that (well, bar the other 31,999 people in St Marys at the time. lol)!
  4. Interesting we even bid for the guy. He's a very good player, and some have touted him as a potential England international.
  5. I'd give him another go. He's a cracking player, and possibly just what we need right now.
  6. Wasn't there a sexist thread closed yesterday, and the member in question banned? Just saying.....
  7. Remember watching him a couple of years back in a friendly against Eastleigh, and I thought he was one for the future. You might all remember that Lallana wasn't that great when he was first thrown into the team - different players develop in different ways.
  8. Why are we discussing a player where the source is some lad on a Celtic forum? Why am I even posting this?
  9. Ok, I know i'm jumping the gun here, but is his scoring record all that? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tadanari_Lee Obviously hesitant to use Wikipedia as a source of information, but what's the standard of the J-League like versus the championship? Don't want to be a doom-monger, but this potential signing doesn't excite me
  10. Actually it's not, as we are still top of the league
  11. So you're saying you'd not sell him for £59 million??? Be pretty shocking turning down potentially the 2nd/3rd highest transfer fee of all time!!
  12. I kind of felt it was my fault personally. Every time I've bought/received the new Saints shirt (i did for Xmas), we've gone on a dismal run. Has been the case for god knows how long. It's my fault. Not yours.
  13. lol - must say, i was expecting this to be completely sh1t, despite all the positive comments on the thread - but it was well funny! Great work!
  14. I love it how there's already suggestions for chants for a player we're still not quite sure: 1.) what nationality he is 2.) Which "Lee" it is. lol
  15. Bugger, Boro have just scored
  16. He was terrible when he played for us last season, although interestingly he was by far and away our best player on the pitch in two games - against Bolton in the carling cup, and against Blackpool in the FA cup. The lad is quality - there's no doubt about it, but he's got to want to do it every game, not just the games he fancies. In a few of our league games he missed some absolute sitters, like he was deliberately missing.
  17. Even more gutting is that Marian's facing a race to be fit for our next game. Could really do with him against City
  18. Absolute tripe. He's got a £3 million release clause, meaning if he wants to leave, he can talk to anyone matching that offer. It's shoddy journalism. No-one in their right mind would pay more than £3 million now they know about this clause.
  19. Quite shocked by the lack of Steve De Ridder's name on this thread. I thought it was a toss up between Morgan (midfield maestro yesterday - had a very Vieira-esque performance) and Steve De Ridder. Think that particularly impressed me was his willingness to tackle back - with his best moment of the whole game (bar the cross for the first goal which was fantastic wing play) was hammering it back to tackle Scannel when he had burst through, and he put in a crunching challenge. Legend. Also loved the chant for him too (na na, na na na na! Hey hey hey, Steve De Ridder!)
  20. ARGH!! My mate has just informed me it's his stag do that weekend and a yet-to-be-disclosed UK location - hopefully Southampton.......
  21. Not strictly true - Asamoah Gyan's loan move apparently sees him pick up a lot more than he's on at Sunderland. Doesn't make a lot of difference to your argument mind, i'm just being a pedantic so and so
  22. What a terrible, terrible App. It's got nothing on the fart generator.
