  1. I'm back! What Minty said.
  2. Excellent site. The apparent path across the sky and varying durations of visibility make so much more sense now. Also it's pretty amazing to think that it's halfway across the Atlantic when you first see it and by the time it disappears six minutes later, it's over central Europe.
  3. I missed the impressive one tonight but there's another one in four minutes time.
  4. Check Dog's link at the top of this fred. The best viewings last 5-6 minutes and start in the west (Bournemouth direction), have a high elevation (above 70 deg) and end in the east (towards Pompey), so 2205hrs tonight and 2230hrs on Thursday.
  5. It looks like a bright star but it's obvious it's moving. I guess it's a similar sort of speed to a passenger jet at high altitude.
  6. Can you not see Florida from Southampton then?
  7. Yes. The clouds didn't cause any problem after all.
  8. Actually, it may be ok. I can see a few stars.
  9. Look towards the west. It'll probably start low near the horizon before going almost overhead. I think the clouds will stop you from seeing anything though.
  10. Looking a bit cloudy. Booooooooooo.
  11. You do realise that is their entire air force? Still, it's better than navy I suppose.
  12. The pedestrian actually has right of way if they've started crossing, but then again, they also have far more to lose so rarely try their luck since most motorists don't know this. Rule #8
  13. I don't think you're too wrong there. The American action is significant because the Brits are so thin on the ground that they are unable to hold any gains they've made in the past.
  14. The danger is if it fits in and doesn't charge, you may have already done damage. Check the voltage input on the laptop is roughly the same as the output of the charger. Then check the current output of the charger is at least as high as the drain of the laptop. Also, check the polarity is the same. Then plug it in. I regularly see new laptop chargers on eBay for under a tenner from Hong Kong and about £10-15 from the UK. ps I've just noticed this thread. How are you getting on Jan?
  15. Chinese lantern. They're all the rage.
  16. Yeah, we know. Seriously though, there must be thousands of undelete utilities out there and this is the very reason why you shouldn't be too bothered if you're told to delete your pictures at a gig or match. Even an in-camera format shouldn't permanently delete them. "Undelete" was a command in MS-DOS 5.0 in the days before Windows was widespread.
  17. On a non-uniform day once some kids sprayed some silly string in a maths teachers hair and he went ape-sh*t screaming and throwing fists but didn't connect. We were quite quiet and well behaved for the rest of that class.
  18. It was obvious #430 was that sort without needing to link.
  19. I don't have a PM, but I do have google.
  20. Tell her she needs to sort out her priorities.
  21. Our first goal was a pullback from Jake Thompson which was kindly converted by a Totton defender. Totton pulled one back almost immediately after we went 2-0 up. What was worrying was the way our defence froze when the cross came in for their equaliser with the last touch of the game (excluding the restart).
  22. 200.
  23. Taken at 7:45 tonight. Could it be a sign?
  24. My nan is 101 and lives in a nursing home in Hong Kong. True story.
  25. I was given three tickets last night and was planning on going tomorrow, but can't rearrange lunch with my girlfriend's grandad so they're up for grabs. The stupid thing is he lives in Brackley so we'll be driving to within five miles of Silverstone anyway. They include paddock access and grandstand and available for pick up in central Southampton. http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/championships/worldseries/overview/Default.aspx
