Love Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer on MOTD, think Lawrenson and Hansen could do with replacing though.
-
I think if we go down he'll definitely go somewhere. If we stay up I'm 80% sure he'll stay.
-
So does that mean that that particular judge could help them weasel out of the -10?

RIP. Someone like Maggie is just what this country could do with right now.

100% serious. Thought he was excellent in that game, hardly noticed he was there and gave almost all 50/50 decisions our way.
-
I'd absolutely love an 'anticlimatic' end to the season. I seriously don't want to go into any of the remaining games this season knowing we have to win them. I'd be incredibly happy and proud of the players if we can stay up, and even more prouder and happier if we can finish Top-12 this season, it really would be a magnificent achievement. Would love if we can beat WHU on Saturday then go down to Swansea the week after and actually be able to enjoy the game without feeling sick for the whole 90 minutes.

At QPR away you hardly noticed him, best ref I've seen so far this season. He protected our players from alot of QPR's physicality/clumsy challenges in that game so I'm hoping he'll be the same this time. He didn't enjoy his best refereeing performance when we played Chelsea in the cup but I'm not really fussed about that as it was only a cup game.

Great results for us in the end except the Newcastle result. Was actually hoping for a QPR win today as I thought that'd be marginally better than a draw and definitely better than a Wigan win. Fortunately it was a draw so we got to see QPR and Wigan drop points on us and Twitchy twitching his head off of his neck at the final whistle which is always great to watch.

I'm gonna sound like a broken record here, but I really can't see us winning this. We struggled severely against QPR and Sunderland who both took the Direct approach. We can't seem to play well against teams that play that way, MoPo said himself after the Reading win 'that's difficult to press in the opposition half when the ball spends so much time in the air!' we couldn't beat Sunderland or QPR who play this way, and West Ham are a much better team than those two. You just know if they go 1-0 up then they have the defence to defend against us, whoever takes the lead in this game will be key I think, if we score first it could be a relatively easy victory as West Ham would have to attack and therefore semi-abandon the Direct-approach, which would mean they may actually have to play the ball on the floor a bit more...which would play right into our hands as it means we could easily counter-attack them with the pace we've got in the team go up the other end and score. If they take the lead though I expect a very long-drawn out 'sit back for 90 minutes whilst playing balls upto Carroll' approach. They're very good at set-pieces (something we're not particularly good at defending at) and they have some decent players. Diame will cause us no end of problems, and players like Carroll have scored for fun against us in the past, he will be a real handful and I think we'll struggle to deal with him. Can't see anything but a 0-1 West Ham victory at the moment. Seriously hope I'm wrong though! Would be amazing to get to that magical 40 point barrier with 5 games left to play. It makes me cringe everytime I read 'Oh yeah 5-0 easy win' '3-0 to the mighty saints, we're gonna smash 'em' etc. on here. It is embarassing. Everyone was saying the same before the QPR and Sunderland games as we were on a good run of form back then and we got beaten by them (playing direct). Everyone was saying the same before Reading this weekend gone and we were quite lucky to scrape a victory there too, we were nowhere near as good as we were against Man City/Chelsea/Liverpool. I also don't get the particular hate of West Ham, they're a cocky arrogant bunch but most 'established' PL clubs' fans are exactly the same. Not really bothered about the way they play, yes it is appalling but I don't pay money for a season ticket to watch that ****e every week so I'm not bothered.

Edinson Cavani? Apparently Napoli would take £70Million for him?

Yup, they are absolutely hilarious. Saw earlier this week a stupid skate thinking he was for real correct him on something which I thought was funny.

I started following this guy on twitter about 2/3 weeks ago. His tweets are absolutely hilarious. Especially his 'Wes Brown Albion' Logo.

Saints 2 Reading 0 - Post Match Reactions
BlakeySFC replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Fantastic win. I didn't watch the game as I was so sure we were going to lose, amazing win. Only another win and a couple of draws away from safety. -
As one of the few on this forum who actually like the current pinstripe kit I wouldn't be overly fussed if there was a similar design in place for next season. If we do go back to stripes next season I hope that it isn't just the generic stripes of 08-10 or 05/06 and something a bit different, similar to the mock-ups found previously in this thread. I think we've got two choices: Generic Nike Kit (see Barnsley and Everton) or Generic Adidas (Stoke, WBA, Sunderland) realistically. Personally, I feel the generic Adidas designs look better than the generic Nike designs so I'd marginally prefer them over Nike.

Realistic target placing next season - current squad?
BlakeySFC replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
I'd say historically teams that are relegated don't do too well the next season or do very well. I think Play-offs would be a good target for next season. Hopefully we won't have to off-load too many of our decent players in the Summer and can make a push for automatic promotion again. -
God no. We're still going down, the loss to Reading this Saturday will be the start of a downward slide.
-
I guarantee we will lose.

Really can't see us winning this one. It has got 'Typical Saints Banana Skin' written all over it for me. 1. It's on Sky (we've not won on Sky yet in the Prem this season) 2. We're on a good run at the moment which means a QPR/Sunderland/Wigan-esque performance is inevitable at some point 3. We don't exactly have an amazing record against Reading, especially at their place over the years. 4. They're due a win 5. I've got the same 'bad feeling' I had for this game that I had before the Wigan, Sunderland and QPR games 6. Its got a 'typical saints loss' vibe about it already, beat Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea but lose to QPR and Reading The arrogance on this thread in extraordinary, I know everyone is ecstatic about us beating the Pool and Chelsea back-to-back (myself included) but some of you lot sound like Man United fans. It won't be a 'massacre' it'll be an extremely tough match against a team that's fighting for their future and survival in the Premier League. Think it'll be 2/3-0 to Reading and send us all back down to earth with a bump. Still think we'll be joining Reading in the relegation zone before long, this upcoming game will be the start of a bad run until the end of the season I feel.

I'll admit I shouted 'Get the ball in there' at Fox when he was taking the ball into the corner as I wanted to see us score another, but him keeping the ball was fine. The only times I moan during the match is if the Manager makes a silly substitution, a player gives the ball away and concedes a goal as a result, or if a player misplaces a pass. I'll never actively boo or slate one of our own players, I've never booed Guly and have never been part of the 'Ramirez is ****e' fanclub, I've moaned when Fox has given away the ball or something but that's just the usual reaction for me when a player gives the ball away in a silly position. There were loads of people at Wigan away that kept slating Puncheon (admittedly not his best game but he was on a terrific run of form at the time), Ramirez and Lambert which thoroughly ****ed me off.

Fantastic news

Chelsea: Loss, Reading: Loss, West Ham: Loss, Swansea: Loss, West Brom: Loss, Spurs: Loss, Sunderland: Loss, Stoke: Loss. Don't think we'll get another point this season. Can't see where our next win is gonna come from unfortunately, our goal difference is going to take a battering against Chelsea in just under 2 weeks time as well.

We're going down, no doubt about it. The win yesterday and performance is just pointless. We might as well of not won really, we need to get a gap on Wigan, Reading and QPR as they are looking most likely to go down at the moment and we haven't done that. Even though we haven't been in the drop-zone since December now we just don't have any luck whatsoever. Luckless teams get relegated.
