  1. Have you the evidence for this if so please can you post it because I doubt it is true
  2. I doubt if sick note Austin will start
  3. Where Hunter was probably in the right then
  4. No it was David Burnside
  5. Surely a great mind like yours can see there is a possibility though very remote because of the above that West Ham could get in the CL if they do they will need extra players so they may have Mane on their list of possible new players I am sure that SFC also have a list which the Brentwood Gazzette or whatever it is called are not interested in because many of their readers are West Ham supporters
  6. If they get in the Champions League they will have deep pockets so it is a possibility
  7. I go and see Ipswich once a year when I visit a friend in Suffolk
  8. Channon made his debut for Southampton as a 17-year-old in 1966, scoring in the match against Bristol City I was there
  9. I agree not helped by them losing to Chelsea
  10. Pretty incisive analysis
  11. I think that our squad is possibly the best we have had for sometime now that we have Austin and Soares and Romeo Claise are starting to play well. The four summer signings have proved to be pretty shrewd signings the old hands Davis Long Wanyama Fonte Bertrand Tadic and Forster are playing pretty well and Targett and JWP are beginning to show more than promise I always thought we had a good squad and it is a shame we had such a bad run at the end of last year but the starting XI seems more settled now after RK's little tweaks
  12. Yes it was a 'free header' but he was relaxed and composed when he headed it must admit I would have been upset if we had conceded it as no one was marking him but very good cross from the under estimated JWP
  13. I would have been happy with a draw but delighted with the win perhaps the draw will come against Arsenal I wonder if Morgan regrets leaving us probably not as he earns loads more cash but if he was still with us we would probably be much higher in the table
  14. I have read the article but I find this a rather strange comment
  15. Seems a strange thing to say I thought they were showing ambition by investing to get into the PL which they did l agree I would be astonished if Austin is on £100k pw. I would be surprised if it was earning more than £50k
  16. It has been pretty underwhelming to be honest poor European Campaign 6 1 defeat at home in League Cup out of FA Cup in third round poor home form in the League until the last two games. But of course we could easily finish 6th or 7th if we can continue to play well
  17. Gold is only replying to West Ham Fans about the Austin deal as they were in for him at one time be nice if we could get Tweets from Ralph. I think Gold is right if we are paying 100000K a week it is not a bargain but we dont know what wages he is on like me Gold is only making a comment. He seems to be doing a good job at West Ham are probably did not go for Austin after the problems with injuries with Carroll
  18. I think it was Gateshead he was involved as a player I think he was coach at Bishop Auckland first on his way to Doncaster and Grimsby Although Souness was not a World Cup Winner it could be said he was more successful than Ball Tottenham Hotspur FA Youth Cup: 1969–70 Middlesbrough Football League Second Division: 1973–74 Liverpool Football League First Division (5): 1978–79, 1979–80, 1981–82, 1982–83, 1983–84 League Cup (4): 1980–81, 1981–82, 1982–83, 1983–84 FA Charity Shield (3): 1979, 1980, 1982 European Cup (3): 1977–78, 1980–81, 1983–84 Sampdoria Coppa Italia: 1984–85 Player-Manager Rangers Scottish Premier Division (3): 1986–87, 1988–89, 1989–90 Scottish League Cup (4): 1986–87, 1987–88, 1988–89, 1990–91 Manager Liverpool FA Cup: 1991–92 Galatasaray Turkish Cup: 1995–96 Turkish Super Cup: 1996–97 Blackburn Rovers League Cup: 2001–02 Alan Ball England World Cup: 1966 Everton Football League Division 1 championship: 1969–70 FA Cup finalist: 1968 Arsenal Football League Division 1 runner-up: 1972–73 FA Cup finalist: 1972 Southampton Football League Division 2 runner-up: 1977–78 League Cup finalist: 1979 Vancouver NASL Soccer Bowl champion: 1979 NASL National Conference champion: 1979 NASL Western Division champion: 1979
  19. I think Alan Ball was Saints most successful player who became a manager and Lawrie Mac the worse but Lawrie was more successful than Bally as a Saint's Manager
  20. I think you are one of the best posters on here making really good points but sometimes you do seem to obsessed with particular issues first there was your love in with Jack Cork now the opposite with Matt Targett. I too have not been impressed with Matt but it is the policy of the club to bring through academy players and as an England U21 International he has been identified as a future PL player and will play if Bertrand is not available Surely he can only improve and if he does not and we buy in another LB what is the point of the Academy
  21. Managers get millions of pounds to manage football teams are you suggesting they are a waste of money and anybody could do the job. Some managers are better than others I am quite impressed with Mopo he did well with us and is doing well with Spurs as their League Position shows. Koeman seems OK when things go well but not when things go wrong and his tinkering with the team is not helping
  22. Surely we are not going to qualify for Europe or finish 7th this season so we will have gone backwards.
  23. I agree with this at the moment but can anyone convince me I am wrong
