  1. I've refrained from contributing to this thread until now. I like to think that shows considerable self-restraint. But your rant is just too much. I don't blame the majority of the Pompey fans. I feel sorry for them. In their position, I would hope the club ceases to function, so a new Pompey could be formed - one that an honest person could whole-heartedly support. As to this thread being "dull and boring", no-one is making you read it. And describing it as "dull" twice in one post is, er, dull.
  2. I agree but Nigel plays AC more often, and makes fewer changes, than I would. AC's a good player but not ready to be playing every game.
  3. Hard to choose a MOTM - so many good performances.
  4. The Liberals are not spineless. If they were, they'd cave in to the pressure from the media, the students and the thugs. They were dishonest; they made a ridiculous promise to oppose tuition fees, because they thought they wouldn't get into government. Now they've been found out.
  5. Exactly. The difference between a thinking tory, a thinking lib dem and a thinking socialist is that they have different analyses of what will help.
  6. Sadly, such people are not restricted to any political party. I really hope you weren't serious.
  7. Yes. Also, Bart, Connelly and Martin could use some game time. But it's dangerous to make 6 changes. I hope for maybe 3 from these.
  8. I'm not sure Jaidi will want to play 2 games in 3 days any more. Maybe Martin will come in?
  9. Oh the waves of nostalgia! I loved that old ground. I have so many memories. It was at its best before they put seating under the stands. But there's no way we could compete if we were still there. For me, it's a pity the stands at St Mary's are so far from the action. Part of the Dell's atmosphere was the way we were almost on top of the pitch.
  10. We have one of the best squads in the division, if not the best. We have enough ability to retain possession and play good football. We can play through midfield and Puncheon and Lallana are talented players who can play down the wings. Chamberlaine, too, has talent. He also has pace. But today we gave possession away cheaply time after time (again). Jaidi was most at fault in this. He kept hitting it long and I can't remember it working once. It seems to me that what we need is not new players but the discipline and confidence to play properly and not just keep lumping it forward.

    Barnet

According to the OS, he's a trialist
  12. Am i the only one who would prefer Lallana on the right and Puncheon on the left?
  13. It brought a lump to my throat when Brett knocked in the winner. One of the most hard-working players we've had in years.
  14. One concern: when Ricky went off, we (particularly Kelvin) kept playing it long, and we didn't have the height up front to do anything with it. In the summer, maybe Pardew needs to get cover in case Ricky gets injured?
  15. Yes, both. They should both improve considerably over the next year or so.
  16. I thought Wotton did a good job today. I understand that he's not the most elegant of players, but he got through a lot of work.
  17. Eric Martin
  18. I'd rather have Thomas at RB. If he's fit, I'd rather have Holmes at LM.
  19. Didn't Lawrie Mac do a good job as DoF with Alan Ball?
  20. Fighting the 10 points will cost us time preparing for next season. That, in turn, could cost us 10 points anyway. Take the medicine and start moving forwards. We need to get on with the football. And I can't take much more of the stress.
  21. Leon Crouch - a real fan with real money. An ideal candidate for the board, I would have thought.
  22. What's wrong with us? Leon Crouch is a Saints fan. He's put more of his own money into the club than most (or all) of us. Show some respect! Some of us think he may have made a few mistakes. Hands up everyone who's never made a mistake.
  23. Mike, I don't believe you're a bad person. I deeply regret some of the things that have been written here. But it would be good to hear your side of the story. I'm sure people would think better of you if they knew the truth.

    Souness

Either Souness or Merrington would be a huge improvement on what we've had recently. The last thing we need is for us to get so picky that we discourage good people from investing in our club.
