To Renew or not to Renew ..........
Window Cleaner replied to Bourne Valley Saint's topic in The Saints
She"s so vain, I bet you think this post is about you, don't you. (Carly Simon circa 1973) -
I really, really don't. When the FA appoint a decent manager who'll stop this as many Liverpool players as possible and a few other attitude then I might be more inclined to support them as my second international team. Hodgson is a dinosaur, England need to get knocked out and made to pay for the error of appoiinting him.

Which of course is why he's out of contract with the relegated Ajaccio and yet no club seemed to be falling over themselves to sign him before Tuesday. He's hit and miss, same can be said about any goalkeeper really. Look at Jaskalainen against us at St Marys, didn't finish the season as Number 1 at West Ham though.

Will Koeman Give Osvaldo Another Chance?
Window Cleaner replied to Pastor Patrón's topic in The Saints
Wasn't he just, but now that it's done I feel that there's no way back for him!; should never have been sent to Juve on such watery terms anyway. We needed him, other clubs get round it, we couldn't. I really don't think it was a Mauricio decision, it came from "upstairs" as was said at the time. -
Don't really care who wins myself, just hoping to see a decent game. Shouidn't be too hot in Sao Paulo today so England shouldn't be too disadvantaged on that front.

I don't think we'll get any money for him at all right now, which is why we're trying to loan him to Inter for the season with an 11 million euro buy option at the end. Inter are only warm over it though, Mazzari wants him but there are other options, if they take him it will be on their terms not ours. -
depends if Kenya look like being able to qualify for the next ANC really, I don't think they're very good though so perhaps not. If they did it would mean us being without him for 5 or 6 weeks early next year. Right looked it up, Kenya have a 2 legged play-off against Lesotho this summer to see who goes into the main competition, games on 19th July and 1st August. Just what we need to get our pre-season under way, presume they'll have some sort of training camp before that. So in fact when you take away all the WC players there won't be many of our top lads available at the start of pre-season training with the club, must be what about 2 weeks away now?

So basically Rogers and Reed are running the club, Rogers and Reed, sound like bespoke tailors really. Never figured what RK was supposed to be doing anyway myself, can't see that it makes much difference whether he stays or goes. He won KL over with his gab at the WEF, she wanted to give him a job in the new set up, what that is exactly remains to be seen.

It's money down the drain anyway, just need to get him off the wage bill and take whatever we can. -

Les Reed is still there right...only thing that makes any difference. Reed sent him away, he'll not take him back. -
Even though he's said he wants to play for a top club on at least 2 occasions you mean. He's just more dicreet than the others that's all and totally occupied with his current task just now. Might even get a game tomorrow, Cabaye is doubtful, Mavuba will probably start but Morgan might get a game after about 60 minutes or so, you never know, if not then against Ecuador when the French have already qualified. DD does like his same starting line up though.

Will Koeman Give Osvaldo Another Chance?

The 2 aren't necessarily one and the same thing. The PL requires certain qualities in a player but you can be good in other leagues without them. The main reason is that there are no easy games in the PL, whereas in Italy,Germany and Spain there are sides who just aren't up to scratch and playing against them is just like a week's break in the Bahamas. I presume it's something to do with the distribution of TV revenues, big fish get ten times as much as little fish i expect. -

not in Osvaldo's case though. -

Koeman might, club won't, he's gone, get over it. Other than that I really doubt that he'd be interested, did everything he could to get out of here last season, won't want to come back. Loan deal with Inter in the pipe-line. -
Jeremain Lens I presume, a perennial favourite on the forum every summer since the night of time.
-
Now to me Borini is a known quality, someone who's proved that he can play in the PL, Pelle ? who knows, Steve de Ridder scored goals in Holland. Then again Borini is 23, Pelle is far older I think. I wouldn't mind taking Borini in part exchange at all, not that it's likely to happen, we could also buy Pelle because just now we have about let's see...zero strikers until JRod is ready again. Osvaldo certainly won't be back.

if he's still with the club in August......

Not just yet then............

Wavy haired ...... from Winnipeg ?

Mauricio acted as go between for Bielsa and the OM actually, could have put in a good word for us if he'd wanted to I suppose, perhaps he hadn't made up his mind about leaving in April/May.
-
Indeed they do, I couldn't find a french copy to buy though. However that's not the point, I'm sure his best seller was put forward as a selling point to sceptical fans, never explained that there is..to my knowledge anyway, no English version of this wonder tome, like I said an optical illusion.
-
He's been at Ajaccio these last 3 years or so, might have been at Sunderland before that ..I don't know. He had good days and bad days at Ajaccio though, really nothing exceptional, mind you their side was generally weak last season, probably why they got relegated..Ochoa is now a free agent, his contract having expired. Before we make hasty conclusions about him being the best thing since sliced bread though we need to wait and see how he does against Croatia with their far more efficient strike force. Brazil were lucky that Mandzukic was suspended against them really.
-
Krueger is just all varnish and no wood so to speak, an optical illusion, just like his "best selling" book..only published in French and German I think. Always wondered what he was doing at SFC, still do.
-
As they're trying to pay 32 million for Lukaku it must be substantial, still there won't be much left after that. depends on who they can offlload really I expect, same as us,same as everybody.
-
Just crap anyway, hardly any football transfers are paid in full at the time of transfer, that's why we owe 27 million £ for previous transfers. Still asking for cash in advance is a good way to ensure no player ever leaves the club during the period of his contract. It is also an excellent way to ensure that no-one ever wants to sell you players on favourable terms.
