  1. Clyne was over 21 last August so he'd be on the full list, playing for the U21s doesn't always mean you're under 21.
  2. Odemwinge probably believed the Sun when they said that he was signing for QPR for 4 million £, Sun's never wrong right ? Probably picked up his morning paper, read that he was signing for QPR that very day and thought "F*** me I'd better get myself down there then, only pausing to send a bunch of flowers to lady Di on Mustique and buy a wedding present for Elsie Tanner.
  3. Then again you could argue that Nolan was pretty much instrumental in getting them back to the PL so it was worth the investment. The affair with Tevez and Sheffield Utd has obviously undermined their finances. As they look fairly comfortable to stay up for the time being I don't think they've over much problem with their debt because it's not intrinsic, much of it was generated from a isolated event.
  4. Leigh, isn't that where Eric o A lives when he's in the UK ?
  5. Saints no longer sell players that they want to keep haven't you heard. AOC was a special case, there was nothing we could do about it and at least he had the decency to let us get a decent sum for him. I'd like to see someone try and get Lallana or Schneiderlin or Cork from us against Cortese's wishes actually, it would be Tchernobyl all over again.
  6. In fact he's been a singular disappointment bearing in mind his transfer fee and all of the haggling it took to get him here. About 15 games and just 3 goals, Jeez Jason "the attitude" Puncheon has done better than that. Where's that chap that knows him ? Give him a good talking to or has his head really been turned by Fiorentina despite all protestation to the contrary.
  7. Bouleaux you mean = Birch Trees.
  8. Because he was going so flipping fast. At the speed Remy was going any touch that holds back your trailing foot will send you ass over tit. Try it sometime, sprint up the lawn at top speed and get someone to hold back that trailing foot albeit for just an instant. Defender knew what he was doing, knew the effect it would have and more importantly knew what it would look like.
  9. Château Neuf ? Newcastle have very astuciously exploited the forthcoming tax rise for very high earners in France. A player who was on say 35K a week in France would soon be taxed out of existence, receiving probably somewhere around 13K a week at the end of the day. They've no doubt sold players lesser basic deals and better bonuses. Very astute work. Come the summer French players will be trying to play in the UK for a couple of bob a week because that's all Hollande's tax systems will leave them.
  10. 3/10.. doit mieux faire.
  11. Well no it isn't. Those clubs who want or need to buy, sell or loan players do so. Those that don't err don't.
  12. It's a tendancy of your average Saints fan to underage any local lad who's not doing as well as might be expected. As we have seen at SFC of late, if you're good enough you're in the first team squad at 17/18 and getting games. If you aren't doing that you're probably not good enough and will end up at Bournemouth,Rotherham or Lincoln.
  13. no it wasn't actually, the city player caught Remy's trailing foot and he went ass over tit. French commentators went on and on about it, even had slow motions and stills of Remy's foot being caught by the City defender. No doubt about it..penalty
  14. Laughs a lot then, probably has only just stopped laughing over the 2.2 million quid he rooked us for Gazza.
  15. He's also a friend of Derry's or his son is or something. He was really miffed when we didn't sign him. Made a bit of a d*ck of himself. Not taken any notice of anything he's said since...except about KD cos there he was right as was I.
  16. KP, SaintBletch, BTF and WC are the spelling and grammar police. This is an internal matter.
  17. Spelling his name wrongly KP, adjective instead of adverb, is that an Americanism as well ?
  18. Trouble with Schneiderlin is that he's wearing Brian Howard's shirt apparently :smug:
  19. won't get into that squad until he's more in view. Gonalons is dire most of the time but he still gets called up each time. Deschamps is very old guard centred.
  20. you obviously didn't watch them against QPR. Mediocre everywhere, lucky to get a draw because the ref turned a blind eye to Remy getting tripped in the box.
  21. Thought Reeves might have found a better level than League 2 even if it's only for a month. I seem to recall somebody insisting that he was almost at first team level not long ago. Need to get our development group sorted out because apart from those who jump from the U18s to the first team there seems to be a complete wasteland area. Millions spent on nothing. Those that are good enough make the step up straight away and those that don't are just farmed out until they find their level.
  22. talking of boobies, I see that Justin Bielber (whoever that might be) is in trouble for grabbing a fan's tits. Now in my day a popular music star would only make headlines for not grabbing any stray tits that strayed into sight. Don't know what the world is coming to. In fact in my youth it was considered ungentlemanly not to grope some unknown girl in the lunch queue at the Uni refectory.
  23. bit of a homing pigeon isn't he? Always seems to end up in roughly the same geographical zone.
  24. City weren't great against QPR and with the number of their players that will be involved in Internationals next midweek I can see us getting something from that game. Without Touré and Kompany they looked pretty clueless.
  25. Kelvin Davis = Adkins binky. When will people stop debating this point.
