I got slagged off for saying that, last summer and again last week. Martin seems to be a bit of a sacred cow on this forum. Once again I don't think that many of our co-posters realise just how good you need to be to play regularly in the PL.

Lambert did have a reasonable PL season with Norwich last year though. Looks to me as if that may have been down to the players more than the manager. Players adapted to the PL but the manager didn't quite really. Some of his player choices this season have been abysmal .

In fact we did spend one tenth of 12 million on a player who isn't much older than Gaston today and who is of a level equal or superior to his. Best thing Lowe ever did but then how much of that credit we owe of that to Georges Prost I couldn't say.

wouldn't think he'd get the job in front of Di Matteo for the time being but if they leave it too late and it's an NPC job that needs doing I don't think Di Matteo would be interested. Probably a couple of better jobs coming up anyway. I'm thinking Fulham.

No I meant if we had signed him in the summer and he had had the full pre-season with us and then started at City. To me not signing a number 1 keeper in May was at the root of all our subsequent troubles .

to be fair we should have won at least 2 others in that run but we didn't ...thanks to Adkins. If we had had Boruc between the sticks from day 1 we'd probably be on about 30 points by now.

means you'd have to take the dead wood out of the official EPL squad that's all. Butterfield, De Ridder, Lee even. We already have 1 space I think because Dickson and Seaborne were part of the original 25 because of EPL rules.

Looked through my recording again, don't think the ref got a very good grip on Everton's alehouse football, constant holding and shirt pulling, couple of smacks round the ear for our lads, all unnoticed or seemingly so. Fellaini needs watching he's a filthy bugger and knows how to hide it from the ref.

Biglia is being linked all over the place, heard that Anderlecht are offering him to Inter. Anderlect want 10 million euros, Biglia, who wants to leave, thinks that it's excessive and has thrown a strop and gone back to Argentina recently complaining of migraines for which he has a sick-note. Anderlecht even sent a doctor and a bailiff to ascertain the truth. He should have been back at Anderlecht yesterday anyway because his sick note ran out on Sunday. He's trying to drive down the price and Anderlecht aren't having any of it for now.

Arsenal seem to have real problems signing players just now. Thought they were after M'Vila but he's seemingly going to Russia for a shedload a week. 80K a week after tax if you believe L'Equipe.

We could do with Fulham giving them a real mauling in the Cup this week-end but as it's Fulham they won't. Total wimp side is Fulham.
