  1. Who cares really, must say I've never really been able to see why he's here at all. Must be something commercial I suppose and that shouldn't affect anything to do with football. As long as he shuts up and keeps a very low profile it just doesn't matter where he is.
  2. Sounds about right. As for 40 + million for Walcott, soon to be 29 and injury prone to boot, well that's just not going to happen. Personally I'd not take him on any long term deal involving money, perhaps a try to buy loan but those don't really happen.
  3. Bielsa is trouble, Blanc would not even consider a club like Saints. There are no realistic options available, we'll stick with what we have for the time being I expect.
  4. 3 million a year ? No wonder he's crap then, that's Championship pay.
  5. Sounds pretty feasible. Football is not a greek democracy. Players need to do whatever the manager asks them to do to 100% of their capability. If they can't or won't then the manager needs to get players who can. Oh and having at least one "top player" who wants away in the camp never, ever helps.
  6. Or just not capable enough of getting much out of a mediocre bunch of players in a league where exceptional players abound. Spanish or Portuguese league manager.
  7. Probably had a visually impaired linesman on that occasion then.
  8. Be in here somewhere I expect. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57504-Virgil-Transfer-Rumours-Summer-17&highlight=van+dijk#.WkOrpFXia1s
  9. Well he's actually 29 and is proving for all to see that for a dump footballer a contract is like gold in Fort Knox.
  10. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/11186391/maya-yoshida-says-southampton-are-in-worse-position-under-mauricio-pellegrino-than-claude-puel
  11. it was Burnley yesterday, perhaps they nearly lost against Watford as well though.
  12. Then again he probably is.
  13. Not really expecting a lot of incoming activity, squad is top heavy (in numbers not on quality). VvD sold and maybe one or two little other little outs.
  14. But there are far better managers than Monk available right now. Foolish owners have sacked them and replaced them with inferior idiots, just for the sake of it, or so it would seem; When you can get Pulis or Koeman for nowt then Monk is toast.
  15. Don't think so, the suspension will just be totally meanigless in terms of missing games but I think there are fines attached on occasions as well. I mean how many one gamers have been fulfilled on meaningless league cup and early round FA cup games that the player in question wouldn't have played anyway. That's where Rugby U has got it right, the ban is for a certain time and not a number of games. 10 week bans are fairly common for not so awful disloyal play offences.
  16. Have you see the price of tomatoes lately !! Cabbages are what you need.
  17. Seemed to be more like an "I'm a hard guy, think twice about coming out for the ball next time" gesture. A Huddersfield player said something to him straight away and you could see Austin telling him to "f*** off". Nasty piece of work is our Charles these days now that he's got the big beard and the fine array of tats.
  18. Probably short of the price of a stamp, cos unsolicited e-mails, well who actually reads them anyway. Not to mention those of which the author can't even spell sincerely to boot.
  19. I have to watch the game on SFR Sport, it's where the PL is shown in France now, they showed the incident about 30 times. Doubt that you can access that but as they probably take the feed from Sky anyway it shouldn't be hard to find.
  20. Which will probably turn out to be about 45 plus adds on including winning the Ballon d'Or, the Champion's League 5 years in a row and discovery alien life on a passing comet. Press figures are never, ever accurate.
  21. Well obviously you have a distorted view of the incident then. Austin deliberately flicks his boot into the keeper's face. It's not an accident or one of those things that happens in football, it's a deliberate kick in the face.
  22. Seems to get sacked an awful lot, might be just an uninformed impression though.
  23. So, the FA gives him a ban up until a certain date to make sure his thuggish act is punished. Say the start of next season or so.
  24. Couldn't go in the summer because someone talked themself into a corner and didn't want to lose face, as per usual. When we get rid of the chief bolloaks spouter who just has to open it about anything and anything, we'll be a damn sight better off.
