Will Cortese send adkins on his way should we not secure promotion?
Window Cleaner replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Half of Swindon's defence is now called Brighton's defence, we weren't the only ones who took top players from last season's rivals, except that Paynter and Greer are still doing it for Brighton. -
Don't know but it certainly wouldn't be the first time a promising player has been hoicked out of the academy for unruliness. Nile Ranger being the classic example.

Tis true FF definitely told us that, a few others as well perhaps. -
Unfortunately "win at all cost" is sometimes the mentality needed from a very young age if you want to be a great player or a great champion.I know a few, they'd never be where they are today if their parents didn't kick ass when they got "soft". Not condoning it but it is necessary in some cases.Depends really on just how much talent the kids have, no point flogging a dead horse really.

Just a hypothesis I think, he'll still be here if we get promoted, not so sure if we don't though. -
Go on then...I did some in my student days....excellent....confined it to pop festivals and holidays in Barnstaple though. As the Beatles said "Strawberry Fields for Ever"
-
Some people aren't fit to be parents....it's a simple as that.
-
Maybe not even Gobern.Bart has at least another year I think, signed a new contract last summer. I heard the other day that Morgan can leave for free if we don't get promoted, came from someone around his home town, might be crap though.
-
You'd think that after 12 years or so he'd get tired of making up crap wouldn't you.

Do Footballers still use dubbin on their boots
Window Cleaner replied to Viking Warrior's topic in The Saints
I expect they do, but it's not called dubbin now, its called Himalaya Wax and it comes in spray cans.Wife puts it on her hiking boots. Can't stop progress I guess. -
I thought this lad was supposed to be the bees bolox

Although they'll probably have it wrapped up before then,Brighton have 5 or 6 games before we play them and I'd think 3 wins out of those will seal it.
-
But by that reasoning none of our players should care about a game with Pompey either and yet the build up to last year's cup game was massive, the club remembered, the fans remembered and the players were made to remember whether they gave a toss or not. Little things like that never go away in football,it's part of the culture.
-
Probably not no. They might even remember our game against Spurs decades ago when neither team made any effort whatsoever and both teams got promoted at the expense of Brighton.
-
i have stopped thinking about this, Brighton are top and we'll be second, roll in the NPC.
-
Don't know about that, depends if he's in the plans for the U21 Euro this summer doesn't it, because this is the last of the build up games. If not I doubt that they'll make him postpone his holidays just for the sake of being local for 1 game.

Still we want to get as many points as possible so that when people look at the tables in years to come it doesn't appear that we just scraped up because all the rest were crap.

Family Skiing Holidays (For Clueless Folk)
Window Cleaner replied to View From The Top's topic in The Lounge
If the Alps comes up too expensive you could always try Mont Dore/Super Besse in the Massif Central. It's not like the Alps of course and I don't think you get the same sort of nightlife either but it sure is a lot cheaper.Tends to get very crowded in the school holidays though but sometimes UK hols are a bit off the French hols which are spread over a 4 week period. The "locals" will be first next time round and the Parisians last.So locals (Clermont/Lyon/St Etienne) start on 12th Feb and the Parisians start on 26th Feb each zone for 2 weeks. The best period would be from 19th Feb onwards and the snow should still be reasonable then. -
Side stitch is a something which is really not well understood. Some say it comes from taking on certain types of fluids immediately before running, others say it's mechanical due to ligaments around the abdomen being pulled out of place whilst exhaling and foot striking at the same time.People who land on their right foot whilst exhaling are less prone than people who land on their left apparently.Never had a great problem with stich (or exercise induced transient abdominal pain as some prefer to call it) myself but then I'm not a fan of reconstituted orange juice, coca cola etv and only take on energy gels after I've done any warm up that I might do before sessions.I don't eat solid stuff less than 5 hours before running because it never does me any good, I have a few jelly babies now and again though, I like jelly babies and they're one of the easy and cheapest ways to get instant energy, I even sometimes carry them when I'm out on longish runs, 4/5 JBs and a drink out of my Camelback and all's well with the world. What you need to do is experiment with different circumstances and see what causes SS least, try a bit of heavy breathing every couple of minutes or so, sometimes 4/5 shape outbreaths makes it go away. Ifnot just try running bent forward a bit till it disappears.

wouldn't they have taken Norwich's money if they were going to do that?
-
He probably won't even get a game
-
We should be OK but we have 3 or even 4 games that are not gimmes, I just hope that we don't go to Brighton having a game in hand but with 2 (or 3) points to make up because they just ain't going to roll over and let us win.
-
Perhaps with those N'Guessan crosses you need some sort of aerial presence in the opponents box, not sure that we had much of that on Tuesday, then again I haven't looked at the second half yet..

Saints sign 21 year old Dale Stephens on loan - official
Window Cleaner replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
At least he'll get paid on time whilst he's with us. -
I think it will depend on who we have available and and how much they decide to rough us up this time.
