Other Premier League Transfers - Deadline Day
Window Cleaner replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Just another José whim I'm afraid. -
Solid start from Adams and Dawson today then we got bogged down and are now losing wickets.
-
And the French have been fudging it ever since. Due to Hollande's largesses with the public purse in a vain attempt to be popular and in a position to run again this year, we're going to miss the set target by a fair old number of fractions of a point again. Still the EU will just gloss over it again.

Think we'll be cashing in again do you ? Or just can't keep good players when they get a whiff of a "big club". -

Always the plan in football, better players everywhere, preferably for less money as well..... -

Aren't Juve trying to persuade United to sell them Darmian as their first choice replacement for Alves? Perhaps they want to play him on the wrong side mainly though. -
Win percentage can only be used as some sort of indicator when all of the matches are of the same level. A manager can have 20 games in L1 and win them all and 20 games in the PL and lose them all but he'd still have a win ratio of 50% wouldn't he. Adkins was OK at lower levels but just wasn't a top flight manager. Failed to win either L1 or the Championship with what must be one of the best sides ever seen at those levels. Chock full of what turned out to be international class players.

My my, a lot of posters really did themselves proud there. Still, most of them have disappeared long since.
-
Probably not but they're probably just trying to step up implementation.
-
Chinese government now said to be clamping down on foreign investments, particularily those seeking to do it with loaned money. Probably put the mockers on any take over this summer then.
-
Haven't lost yet but we surely will, that collapse to 50/5 or whatever yesterday afty will cost us 5 points, pity. Oops, spoke too soon, all out 30 short of making them bat again.
-
One who can get us into the top 4 without any much further investment I expect. Must be one somewhere about with a big bag of oofle dust to chuck on Long, Forster, Stephens etc to turn them into world class superstars. We won't progress until we've got more depth of better players, it really is that simple.
-
Don't think Utd are interested in VvD. They've got a few CBs at their disposal already.
-
You are probably not wrong. I really don't see that any of the "names" bandied about here so far will do a lot better than Puel, not with the same players and structure anyway. I do not think we had any cause to sack him and hope he's taken us for every last bent halfpenny that we owe him. If we can get a top manager d'accord but all these german upstarts who have proved nothing don't fall into that category as of yet, neither does De Boer.
-
As I believe i told you all at the time. St Etienne is about 50 miles from here, people in the village go for bike rides with senior staff there, never a very serious candidate.

Zero'ish
-
But for VVD to go on strike at Liverpool he'd have to sign for them first right? Badly thought out argument.
-
Probably incredibly cheap though.
-
Doubt it, we've said Virgil isn't for sale, if he eventually is the FA will just presume that we've altered our position and have sanctioned the sale. They can't do much anyway because the legal eagles will come down on them like a ton of bricks.
-
That really isn't the name of the game, football is about winning (or not losing when necessary) and finishing as high up the table as possible.
-
I think that would need to be judged by the gap to the teams above and possibly below. Not finishing just above Bournemouth on goal difference would definitely be a start in my view.
-
Well we obviously need more rain and less muggy conditions then.
