  1. Hahahaha... surely even Bournemouth fans can't take that article seriously.
  2. When asking a question you should end it with a 'question mark, ?' rather than an 'exlamation mark, !'. Don't worry though, this is all covered in primary school English lessons, you'll pick it up in time. And to answer your question, yes the statue of the man is intended as a tribute.
  3. I'm sat on my laptop and cant seem to access facebook either...
  4. Just seen that on the bbc website http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/charlton_athletic/9360972.stm Doesn't strike me as someone who will reinvigorate the side, but then again I know very little of him as a coach.
  5. What a load of rubbish The headline reads that he favours a move to Chelsea, but no where in the article does it actually say that. Infact one of the few quotes they do have, from Chamberlain Snr: ‘You see some of these young boys nowadays who are on big contracts, earning “X” amount of pounds, acting like they have made it,’ he said. ‘I wouldn’t like it if Alex was to go down that route, I wouldn’t be too pleased at all. He’s fine at the moment but we will keep an eye on that.

    Do Prado.

and more importantly... what a waste of a great song it would be!
  7. Got my 3 tickets in the post today, but no idea how many have been sold. After saturday I'm not sure we'll shift all 2,300. It was a pretty good atmosphere last season with 1,800 I think, I'd expect to get around that again.
  8. Article from friday says the fist batch of 1,500 has been sold and now onto a second batch of a further 1,000. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2240656,00.html
  9. i might be wrong here, but was mills not player of the season when he went on loan to s****horpe in their promotion season? NA managed them back then, he must think a lot of mills... so to let him go out on loan in the division above he must think our current LB/ LMs have even more quality. He surely knows what mills has to offer so i dont think he'll just let him slip away on the cheap.
  10. Spot on. It may be possible that AP and the rest of the staff know more about professional football than Alpine. But then again Alpine could well be Sir Alex Ferguson in disguise, I'll probably never know for sure...
  11. I was listening to the Leeds commentry and at one point they said they we're embarrassed by how bad he was. They seemed to agree with the crowd, that the ref was clearly giving Leeds decisions which he wasn't giving to Saints.
  12. Unlikely, but looking at the fixture list all the top still have to play each other. Charlton have 10 games to play, including: Huddersfield (A), MK Dons (A), Southampton (A), Huddersfield (H), Norwich (H), Leeds (H) Swindon still have to play: Southampton (A), Norwich (H), Leeds (A), Colchester (A), Milwall (A) So plenty of points that will be dropped by the teams above us.
  13. But don't we have far more financial security and long term prospects than those teams?
  14. Certainly the proudest I've been as a saints fan since the FA cup final 2003. Would take our position over any other team outside of the Premier League, and many in the top division, particularly that lot down the road.
  15. anyone see that saints fan dressed as w*stwood in the kingsland? stood up at the start of the match with his big hat on and a toy bell, trouble was everyone behind thought he was the real w*stwood, not sure how successful it was as a **** take but a brave effort anyway.
  16. I didn't really get the point of that. Why dress up as a skate? How did he think that would be funny. Although some dim people did take a while to understand that he wasn't actually W******d...
  17. I'm sure those blocks will be open immediately, the club know it will be a sell out.
  18. 6pm draw, we're still number 1. All the numbers are listed on the FA website http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/FACompetitions/TheFACup/NewsAndFeatures/2010/5RP_draw.aspx
  19. I wasn't at the game today, don't think I've heard the song before. What are the words and tune?
  20. Travelling to this one from Birmingham. £6.60 return. Anyone know if away tickets are available from MK Dons on the day?
  21. Rumour has it Jaidi is currently in Oceana with a few other players, so can't be a serious injury.
  22. Some of you seem to have a pretty blinkered view. I can see him being out for a fair amount of time.
  23. 'The fans should be assured that the long-term future of Portsmouth is going to be secured.' ...is going to be secured There is nothing here to suggest they are any closer to finding an investor or a way out. TBH it looks to me like they have secured another, small, short term loan, adequate to cover the wages of december, but no more.
  24. think Paterson's better than Pericard, Mclaggon probably is as well, and Saga definately is.
  25. Sitting in the Kingsland, I thought Itchen often came across much louder. Good to keep the away fans boxed in and quiet too.
