i don't think the 14m on Gaston has been wasted or payed over the odds but the 7m on jrod probably should of been spent somewhere else. Mayuka im sure will become good over time but he was a lot cheaper. Like almost all South Americans they need at least a season over to get used to the winter conditions etc so i'm sure Gaston will be a good buy but i think the amount we have spent and the position we're in we're all wondering about the 14m but if you take away the 7m from jrod it wont seem too bad. It's that 7m that has been wasted not the 14m on Gaston.

strange he's off to liverpool when he was there a few years ago and from what i read that his dad has been talking to Sir Alex about a move to Man Utd. Matty Phillips would be a good boost for us but more clubs are now looking at him now just hope he chooses us.

Got Lee coming back no need or room for Hooper.
-
I'd get Lee in there somewhere tbh, gives us more than Rod and we're only playing Rod cause of his ridiculous transfer fee. If it was the other way around Lee would be playing week in week out with Rod playing for the under 21's. 442 also does not work and we play a lot better when we play that 4231 formation so having a left back in the left mid position wont happen, we have players who can play there, it's a whole squad league we need to start using other players other than the 14 we use week in week out. mayuka would also fit in but punch and clyne has a good understanding going on would be a pity to change it if punch was to switch to the left to fit in mayuka on the right. Gazza/Davis Clyne Fonte Yoshi Shaw Cork Morgan Punch/Mayuka Ramirez Lee/Punch Lambo

Saints ranked 8th in the English rankings for player production
DrunkenSaint replied to mdearlove's topic in The Saints
I thought Arsenal buy all their youngsters from other clubs, really cant see them being that high. I think they have got all the facts wrong, don't think they have looked if they have produced them or bought them, we would be alot higher up in the euro league than most of the uk teams infact you'll probably see a lot of lower league teams on that list if it was players produced but Barca would still be top i reckon. -
JRod and Guly no thanks ( it will be Guly though ), id prefer Reeves or Lee any day, both are left footed, Reeves will be better defensively but Lee's movement and pace with Ramirez passing, a very good combo in the making. Mayuka yes i like him yes he should be given a chance but he's a right sided player and Punch is playing very well on the right and has a good understanding with Clyne.

Must win, we can't be dropping points against teams in the bottom half of the table and expecting to stay up, Norwich and Liverpool were disappointing, Liverpool are a shadow of what they used to be and should of had something out of that and we must be beating teams like Norwich at home.

As always leaving it too late.
-
Would of liked a change, take of punch for a Jwp, need someone with a bit of fight in the centre closing them down quickly.
-
needed a change today, probably needed another cm in there, cant play same team week in week out and this is the 3rd game in a week.
-
Everybody is quick to criticise the keeper but never best players for not shooting on target as Lambo + Lallana both blazed chances over, on target and we might have won and nobody would be saying anything about the keeper. Again he did a great save which made up for his mistake, he needs experience and im sure he'll become good.

Said in the paper today that he wants to stay at Spurs
-
i said before season... 1.Man Utd 2.Man City 3.Chelsea ------------- 4. Everton 5. Arsenal 6. Spurs 7. WBA 8. Fulham 9. Saints 10. Swansea 11. Sunderland 12. West Ham 13. Stoke 14. Newcastle 15. Liverpool 16. Wigan 17. Reading ------------ 18. QPR 19. Norwich 20. Villa

Played very very well from back-front bring on Norwich, Yoshi/Fonte and Gazza were solid today glad NA has kept faith in them.

Harry accepted job, takes control after man utd game http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11711/8273686/Sky-Sports-understands-Harry-Redknapp-has-agreed-QPR-deal-to-succeed-Mark-Hughes As others have already said, bad news for us. QPR were crap but Harry will turn it around so now its gonna be tough, i can see all those games we've been ahead and got nothing could very well come back to haunt us.

Nobody played well against Leeds (he was being played out of position also) and im sure Lee is getting ****ed off that when he was fit players like Guly were getting into the first team before him. I really rate Lee, his movement was outstanding last season, he set up quite a few goals being not greedy and scored a cracker against derby. I have seen him play 3 times and each time i when i was watching him he lost his marker each time, just a pitty we had no-one who was on the same wave length or he'd have been clean through. Barnsley home i seem to remember he skinned 1 defender used pace to get the the bar line, waited til 2 defenders came towards him then he neatly passed the ball to lallana (i think) to score. He would be a better player instead of JRod at this moment, Jrod just needs time and i can really see Lee's movement linking very well with Ramirez.
-
This is really old news, heard this last week and it's already been sorted from what i heard.
-
So you have forgotten already the saves he has made?
-
Said from the start of the season we should be playing him week in week out, he is so much better than Fox, quality ahead of experience always works
-
Need some pace in the squad today so i'd go with --------------Gazza Clyne--- Fonte--- Yoshida----- Shaw ----------Cork----Morgan-------- -------------Ramirez ----Mayuka ------------Punch --------------Lambo Sorry Adam but it's for the best, we need pace from at least 2 players against QPR as their defence is slow, id have lallana come on in the 2nd half for punch or mayuka though if we're ahead.
-
The way we play we need at least 2 players with pace, and if that means dropping Lambert and Lallana or Punch and giving players with pace like Mayuka and Lee (if fit) ago to get results i'm all game but the thing is it wont happen because the fans are too fickle and players like lambo and lallana must play at all costs. I dont think AL has had a good season so far, trying to hard cause he's captain maybe, and the lack of pace from lambert is showing now. I'd give the captains armband to Cork ( i've always said the captain should always be a central defender or a defensive mid) and try Mayuka and then try Lee when fully match fit in the side to give us some good movement and pace which we miss. Our front line is ok on paper and will probably always get us 1 goal but we need 2 or 3 more with our defence as it is, like i and many more have said, we need players in the team with pace and movement in which will suit Ramirez's game.
-
Cortese didnt look happy at all, it could be time to say goodbye to Adkins. Bizarre sub to bring on Fox when Shaw was having a good game, lack of pace upfront showed but no Mayuka
-
Played well should never of come off, probably played better than Fox has done all season. I think Merson on sky was right to question that sub Adkins made.
-
Mayuka needs to come on, we lack pace upfront
-
Best formation for us but have Shaw instead of Fox and maybe Jwp instead of S.Davis and cork should be the holding midfield
