GET DE RIDDER ON NIGE!!! Deserves his chance IMO.

Couldn't agree more with many of the responses on here. Definitely deserves a contract IF his fitness is good and he is prepared to fight for a place and be currently content sitting on the bench. Pay as you play would be a great option. Same sort of deal structure as Hargreaves is on at City and I'm sure all parties would be satisfied.

how come we are allowed 7 subs rather than 5? not very good quality control and testing is it

Going to be really tough. Agree with bringing Schneiderlin in as the ball playing midfielder and trying to nick something from it rather than going there and trying to play as a home game (eg wide, attacking, full backs bombing on). We need to be measured and pack out the midfield because players like Whittingham and Cowie will enjoy the possession. One thing that will affect us will be Conway out wide. If he plays on the right, I can't help but feel that Fox may be slightly exposed due to his attacking mentality. Of course, Miller and Earnshaw are international strikers so their movement is going to be some of be best we'll face this season. Hooiveld and Fonte need to stay alert, keep talking and stay on their toes. Also no dodgy passing out from the back from Kelvin would help! Think we're gonna get beaten here. 2-1 to Cardiff.

Kelvin puts us under pressure again with poor passing out from the back. He needs to really start learning when to pass it and when not to pass it!

Nice to see Saints player is working

I really rate McCormack. Thought he was brilliant tonight. Great touch, brilliant movement, pace and 2 brilliant goals. First one was a superb strike and second was great anticipation to get to an area in the box where he thought it may fall. 8/9 goals this season so far - would be perfect alongside Lambert.

What a game!!! Thoroughly deserved. She's had it hard but now its her time to recover and 250k will help a bit i would've thought
-
No we don't because it will attract more interest in him!! got to try and keep him quiet and under wraps for as long as possible!
-
Gonna be tough tonight. They aren't pushovers and have a very good side. Were bound to rest a few but so are they so it could be very interesting. Saints to win 2-1

You spoke too soon... 2-1 to Burnley now - Andre Amougou (Andre Bikey)

Just saw it on Twitter!! haven't lol'd like that for some time. Can't believe it. Surely someone from the championship would've taken a punt on him?

I know what you mean. It is very fluid. FIFA 10 and FIFA 11 were clunky but in a good way. FIFA 12 is very smooth and the gameplay is much more fluid.

Just come on now for QPR for Wright-Phillips for at least the last 2 minutes.

I for one love the way that we are not one dimensional and resort to pumping the ball long HOWEVER.... We need to know when to pass out and when not to pass out. This was demonstrated when Kelvin and Fox decided to do a 1 - 2 resorting potentially in a penalty. It was stupidly dangerous. Also, midway through the second half I looked down to the bench and Crosby was telling Kelvin to start going long towards Lamberts chest - he seemed to completely ignore this and keep passing short. It's good playing short, but only when available and necessary.

That is something i have never had happen in my games.

I've rated him since he joined. I think he is a really solid right back and was unfortunate to have got inured in pre season last year as he would've most probably got 40+ games for us last season. I don't get why people are constantly against him. We paid decent money for him (400k+) and he was in a team of the year. This doesn't make him 'poor' and i don't agree with the people who say 'Butterfield is way better'. Definite starter in my books and i'd be more than happy to see him as the regular for the rest of this season.
-
They make the deal look even better IMO. He has a great chance of making at least 30 apps this year for them as he is a key member of their side so thats another 60k and I'm pretty sure it won't be long before they do get promotion. Great deal for a player that didn't want to stay and wouldn't have got much of a look in anyway.

Steve McClaren rumoured to be on the verge of quitting Forest in the next few days. Are we gonna be facing new manager syndrome again?!

Which striker could you realistically see us getting on the Bus next week?
itchen_dan replied to AndyD's topic in The Saints
Would love to get Simeon Jackson. He would've been one of my main targets for a permanent deal - pace in abundance and knows where the net is. Got something like 8 in 8 at the end of last season -
Never thought I'd be saying this at the start of the season but this game should be comfortable. They've looked really poor defensively particularly against Leicester and West Ham. Confident that Lambert will win plenty of flick ons and free kicks against Wes Morgan and Chambers and Lallana and Guly/De Ridder can really attack the full backs. Can't see Miller doing much upfront. We contained him really well in the friendly against WBA and began to get very frustrated when he wasn't getting the ball. Very Confident. Saints 3-0. Lambert, Guly, Hooiveld

Didn't remember the snow?!

May sound stupid but kind of glad we lost to Leicester rather than someone like Barnsley. Also a defeat will help keep expectations realistic rather than all getting carried away. However, must say it was a brilliant second half performance by the sounds of it and plenty to be positive about - Lallana sounded awesome, could've scored more had it not been Schmeichel in goal and Adkins and Crosby are able to recognise problems and are not afraid to make changes. Disappointed but feel more positive after this game.

I'm just waiting for the inevitable - Sibley to appear on twitter and inform us to check the website in the morning for some big news.
