  2. or even his son:rolleyes:
  3. trouble is I can't see the solution
  4. I see on the OS report of the match it finishes by saying "there was a ray of hope for Saints fans when the 4th official held up the board to show there were 5 minutes of injury time to be played". Wow were they really suggesting there was hope going into added time when 3 goals down - that is blind optimism.
  5. Although I have a ST I won't be going - I just can't face watching McGoldrick and BWP. I shall turn up to the pub for a pre-match pint however because that these days is a far more pleasurable experience. I was prepared to give JP and the kids a chance but it is now very apparent if things stay as they are (and let's face it there's not much hope of change) this once great club is doomed.
  6. The boyse were a beet tired after midweek.
  7. Time to reveal the photographs
  8. Where on earth do you get "highly rated business man" from. Crouch has made 10 times as much as Lowe for a kick off. It is your nodding dog attitude that let Lowe off the hook last time when during our relegation year he was saying "its just a blip". Open yer ferkin eyes man - look where we are thanks to your highly rated business man.
  9. I checked this out last night. LC wrote a cheque out and handed it over with no conditions but it was never cashed. When he enquired why to David Jones he was told it hadn't been needed. A few months later he was asked by the executives for another and this time he refused having fallen out with Hone by then. As far as I can see Crouch is the only person so far who has dipped into his personal finance to help the Saints out. Whatever you think of his short time as Chairman the man does at least deserve a little of our gratitude and like I said he is prepared to go further now.
  10. Mark Wotte is telling people that Lowe is running team affairs!

    Stern gone!

You posted with a pretty entrenched opinion which really is a bit out of kilter if you haven't actually seen us play this season

    Stern gone!

the formation Jan has chosen? Jan chooses nothing - DoF Lowe chooses everything. Time we all wised up.
  13. Pretty sound post Stanley, it was a shame that LC took over when things were so dire and he had the unenviable job of trying to rouse the fans with cod PR which was always going to be unplausible. I have no personal contact with Leon Crouch's but mutual friends tell me that he is as passionate as ever about the club and he has been to every away game this season, sometimes travelling by himself, sitting with the fans. They tell me he is prepared to pump more money into paying off our debts but thinks Lowe and Wilde should also contribute. He was devastated when Lowe removed Pearson as he believes Pearson's appointment to be the moment our fortunes turned. Debateable I know but personally I am losing faith with the well-meaning but out-of-his depth JP and would snatch Pearson back now if we had the choice. With the news of Dowie's sacking today I feel I would like to see (as an interim measure) this club chaired by Crouch and managed by Dowie. Not maybe a dream team but certainly one good enough to keep us up. Crouch is not on a power trip apparently and I hear he has no long term ambitions to remain Chair but he is anxious enough to pledge money and time to dig us out of this developing mess. Just my thoughts - no doubt more abuse will arrive.
  14. Although I don't think boycotting SMS is a good idea the thought of watching BWP and DMCG in tandem turns my blood cold. I just couldn't face it.
  15. I hear he is now prepared to up that to £2m to help pay off the overdraft but still expects Wilde and Lowe to match him. fat chance.
  16. Hey you made me smile:)
  17. Nah I think I'll keep him to myself SlickMick for the time being. Not talking about you but too many others on here line up to shoot the messenger with a result that the message usually gets lost amid all the insults. Wilde knows he's drinking in the last chance saloon any way and his glass is nearly empty. Cheers!
  18. Phil - fair questions politely put so will attempt an explanation. The reason I have only just posted this story was it was only corroborated by a 2nd witness to me on Tuesday. I first heard the story from someone who worked at SMS last year but was asked not to say anything. That person has now given his permission and when it was backed up by a second witness I felt it should be in the public domain. Whether or not it is acceptable that the manager and chairman should be "on the ****" in a public place at 5 am on the day of a match is debateable but someone losing his job over something he said in that company is something else, I guess. I gather the lad made a remark about the execs which was not complementary and it found its way back to Oldknow, who insisted on the sacking. I guess the lad was bang to rights for dissing the execs but there was a lot of drink flowing and he felt OK in the encouraging presence of the Chairman. (As for Burley, I no longer have an interest in his alcohol intake (that's down to the Scottish FA now), but the fact he was there does kinda confirm what many on here were saying last year). Can I also point out that I have not spoken to or been contacted by the person who was sacked, but the two witnesses who have spoken to me were both in the hotel with the official party on the night/morning in question. I am concerned that Wilde is our Chairman and there are lots of other failings I have also heard about which convince me he is unfit - hence my post. I hear that he is "uneasy" at SMS at present and with what is lurking around so he should be. Hope this goes some way to answering some of your questions.
  19. I think you have lost your arguement in your first sentence - if you can't see the difference then it really is not worth me spending any more time jousting with you. No offence but I prefer a more sensible debate with people more attuned to Planet Earth.
  20. Thanks mate, whoever you are for at least taking this thread with a degree of seriousness. IMO Wilde is teetering and so he should because there is a lot more scandal out there.
  21. Pretty insensitive response- he was quite good at his job not that you would care from your flippant reply. And if you think it is OK for the Chairman and Manager of your football club drinking publicly at 5 am in a hotel bar on the day of a match then you have probably got the team you deserve.
  22. Fair point and I will get around to it when it becomes neccesary but I will say this. All I have done is set the hares racing but my comments are not cryptic as I have been precise. Wilde, the Chairman of SFC was drinking with someone (and it can't take much imagination to work out who that was) throughout the night in a North Eastern hotel prior to the Sunderland away game, autumn 2006. There was quite a lot of drunkeness (not a issue unless the two biggest drunks were the manager and chairman of the club) and during the evening things are said that shouldn't be. End of season tour? Not a problem - everyone needs to let hair down but this was mid Nov before an important league game and also present were minor club employees who were in a scenario they should not have been exposed to. Things were said which were thought OK. Not so. Young lad gets sacked. He has suffered but not the two men who were meant to be leading and representing our club who emerge scot free. One now manages Scotland and one is our Chairman who continues to lecture us all on fiscal prudence. Is it relevant to now? Yes because Wilde is still here. Has the guy who got sacked got a new job? I don't know - I hope so but he was sacrificed on the alter of Wilde. Are Saints in capable hands? No I don't think so. Make no mistake administration is looming - our overdraft has risen to 8m and Barclays have expressed their displeasure with Lowe. Surman and Lallana are as good as gone in Jan despite their reluctance to leave. Unless we find the right people to deliver us we are about to take a massive step into the unknown and with Wilde at the forefront there might not be a way back. Laugh, joke, flame away I appreciate no one likes nastiness when it comes to slagging Southampton FC but the future of this club relies heavily now on honesty and trust and under this current leadership we are not likely to get it.
  23. Thanks Ron - appreciate the report back despite the lack of positives
  24. Quite, and I would like to accept the general concensus but his inadequacies over crosses seem to be largely swept under the carpet. Saints fans have a habit of doing that when it doesn't fit the story line.
