Your false equivalency on the violence in Charlottesville was rather odd.

When it’s aimed at ‘virtue-signallers’ and all the other alt-right buzzwords? The mongboard milo schtick ain’t a great look.
-
To be fair, ambiguity, irony if not outright trolling is straight out of the alt-right playbook.

Carrillo may be poor but you can't fault his effort.

Not necessarily. In reported speech i.e. "Neil Chen told", the verb is usually one tense back in time, so "had faith" could easily mean "has faith" in this context.

Saints RELEGATED Liverpool WIN champions league

It wasn’t a soundbite. Ralph was asked why they stood firm on VVD even though it appeared to backfire -and he responded that the club had taken a tough stance with Mané and Wanyama which had worked out, at least for an extra year, so they felt confident they could repeat the trick with VVD. -

Ralph in his talk to London Saints said that they turned down a move for Mané -likewise with Wanyama- and was one reason why they were confident they could keep VVD for another season. From the horse’s mouth. -
Contrast Salah’s second goal with Long’s effort on Sunday

A few things: We're supposedly in talks with 3-4 Chinese companies with an eye to sponsorship - no names but they span industries such as insurance, airlines, home appliances and drinks, though it does say this is attributable to our premier league status. Talks about buying players who can contribute immediately as opposed to proven players per se. Oddly contrasts this 'new' approach with the 'old' one associated with signings like Wanyama, VVD and Mane. Of course most would argue that we lost our way precisely because we departed from this approach in targeting big club cast-offs. Talks about the profile it our academy and the prospect of Chinese players playing for Southampton, though it is currently seen as a pipedream given the difficulties of obtaining work visas. Kit will be launched in July and the team will be doing publicity work. Staff from the academy and management (Les?), meanwhile, will be participating in forums and training events.

Beardy bloke calling team by fake name = definite hipster.

Good lad.

Looking forward to it.

See that Merrington still thinks Boufal is being mismanaged and played out of position.
-
The problem was that neither Bednarek nor Hoedt as the right and left CBs was confident in bringing the ball forward or playing the ball quickly to Cedric and Bertrand. The result is that Chelsea were able to get back in shape and close off the flanks. The two CBs reminded me of Gardos a few years ago at WBA, though he was worse that day and Koeman hauled him after 30 mins, reverting to a back four.

For 14 goals over 2.5 seasons...

Gut?

Boufal wasn't Puel's signing. Boufal was identified and approached by the club before Puel joined - indeed Boufal thought he was signing for Koeman. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/2946170/sofiane-boufal-would-have-joined-psg-if-laurent-blanc-had-stayed-agent

Walcott with the neat finish. At least, we got Promes...

Thought he was much better second half, orchestrating much of our play. Clearly, though, he's been a disappointment, a microcosm of our poor recruitment.
-
True, though he did inherit bit of a rabble, a team of big egos that had missed out on promotion and looked very disjointed following a poor start to the season. Anyone who saw us lose 3-0 at home to Swindon in the JPT under Wilkins will know it was no cakewalk to turn us around.

The idea of a manager telling the board that he doesn't want an extra striker smells fishy to me. Who wouldn't want more options, especially in an area in which we're weak (i.e. pace up top).
-
Why are we in the mire? Because of the Chinese? Because of relegation?

I thought Whitey Grandad was a ref and knew the rules?

Interesting that Hughes isn’t happy with the management behind the scenes (per Blackmore).
