Hello Grant.

Winston Churchill did say that Europe was where the weather came from. Probably some Deutsche Bank ruse.

What are guidos fluffers going to dredge up next to distract attention from this lying shîtshow of a government?
-
Are you another one of guido's fluffers? As the ONS also notes, "while the snow had some impact, particularly in construction and some areas of retail, its overall effect was limited with the bad weather actually boosting energy supply and online sales". Try thinking for yourself pal.

Do you mean write off pal?

Am surprised the jihadis haven't picked up on the latest growth figures - they do, after all, love to give us a running, blow by blow update of the latest economic indicators.

Not sure we really managed the game and Hughes has instilled a grittiness or saviness in us (though we've certainly improved under him). For starters, Bournemouth are a soft side, so it's not difficult to match them. They also had plenty of pressure at the end. Had they scored (and they had the chances), we would undoubtedly be putting a very different gloss on things, how we had caved in before halftime, conceded a poor goal from a corner (again) and had dropped too deep second half.
-
Still don’t understand this - he was much better in the 2nd half against Chelsea. After that game, had no doubt he would be starting today instead of PEH.
-
Austin was also pretty poor today. Romeu not great either.
-
Hojbjerg treating the ball like a hot potato.
-
Hojberg offers very little and Lemina looked much better second half last week. Our only loss to Bournemouth was when we set up with 3 CBs - Howe thoroughly exposed the weaknesses in that fomation.
-
He was considered to have little resale value, so that was a risk.
-
Yet Huddersfield didn't want to sign him, so he wasn't risk-free. You wonder whether, in a similar situation, Les would still sign him today given our business model.

When’s our gang AGM pal?

Could well be, though its worth noting that central government policy on outward and inward investment tends to yo-yo pretty sharply between closure and liberalisation - its almost never smooth and predictable, so I wouldn't be surprised if central government lifted restrictions at short notice in due course. Likewise Lander's probably currying favour with local rather than central government. Of course, by our standards, local governments oversee areas the size of entire countries and have a high degree of autonomy from central government. As the Chinese saying goes heaven is high and the emperor is far away (天高皇帝远). But as you say branding around the academy is a huge asset: given there is a national strategy to build 100 towns dedicated as centres of sporting excellence and increase the land area dedicated to sports and exercise by 50% in the next ten years, you can understand why developers and local governments are trying to get ahead of this opportunity.

From the fragments that can be pieced together, it doesn't seem that they're primarily bothered about nurturing a fanbase in China (as if ever it would ever work). They appear to be investing heavily in developing sports and entertainment hubs/towns (much like WBA's owner). Possibly they're hoping to leverage their involvement with Saints and the academy to demonstrate their expertise and win juicy construction contracts from government.
