I supported the decision to get rid of Jrod, though hoped we would bring in another striker last summer. That we did not and given Austin's absence (totally foreseeable) and Gabbi's form (largely unforeseeable), I am sure he would have brought something to the side. After all, he works harder than Gabbi yet is more clinical than Long. A few additional goals here and there might make all the difference to us staying up or going down.

Obviously you didn’t follow those seasons or watch us play much then. In 2015/16, we were looking down rather than up for the first half of the season (see the reaction after the Norwich away game). It was only a phenomenal run at the end that saw us break into the top six and close the gap on the top four but we were never real contenders whereas in 2014/15 we were in the top 4 for large parts of the season only to fall apart at the end. Tell me how many weeks did we spend in the top 4 in 2014/15 vs 2015/16? Any idiot can read a league table which is what you’ve done - making sense of those seasons is another matter entirely pal.

We were never contenders in 2015/16 - if anything we were more contenders in 2014/15.
