  1. Good excuse then for a "half-time" chocolate break as you wait for the midnight shift highlights. Keep them energy levels up.
  2. CB Fry and Dark Munster = that was a masterclass in mongboardery. Take a bow.
  3. Not saying he won't come good; but as yet not seen much of Austin's link-up play and work outside the box. Pelle is a known quantity. It's also possible to predict when he's going to have some joy. Yesterday was set up for him, with Mariappa, a fullback playing out of position as CB (who was there to be bullied), Delaney's natural lack of mobility (which meant Pelle could come deep for the ball without too much pressure) and Speroni's misreading of crosses.
  4. Your logic doesn't follow. Just because we can't spend £150m or Man Cityesque sums doesn't mean we can't spend more than we have been.
  5. Proof positive that it is a meaningless concept, the way it is liberally and indiscriminantly used.
  6. Coz the keeper who was already on the floor really had a chance of saving it, right.
  7. They started more gung-ho, tweaked things and then stuck to their guns ever since. One might argue they were rigidily gung-ho and then rigidly defensive, though it is equally arguable they played the same brand of low possession, pacy counterattacking football throughout (the only difference is the FBs and the CMs got less forward and opposition teams responded by being a bit more compact). When people mystically incant plan b, they suggest managers adapt to the flow of a particular game and/or pay closer attention to the opposition's strengths/weaknesses - that's not something I saw from Leicester this season (in large part because they didn't need to) and I watched closely in nearly every game this season.
  8. What has that got to do with us when MP only had Lallana and a rapidly declining Lambert as his only two creative options as we limped over the line in 2013/14? Spurs were always playing from behind and their heads dropped after the WBA/Chelsea results. The suspensions coincided with and compounded that. Nothing more. Leicester were in a quite different position. Either way, the sample size is ridiculously small. And it's the singular, not the plural. Frankly Leicester are the worst example you cite of a team without a plan b as they've been dutifully faithful to the same philosophy for the vast majority of the season. But hey it's a concept which can't be pinned with precision and is thus easy to exaggerate, invoked willy-nilly by the moronic who struggle with specifics and complexity.
  9. You mean plan b*****ks. Spurs have missed two of their most dynamic players. Just as we had zero options or creativity off the bench when he was here, rather reliant on a teenage forward who has since struggled to get into a poor MK Dons side. Plan B = the mongboard riddle wrapped in an enigma, the catch-all explanation for the thick as ****.
  10. KBilly's real name is Bill Kenton and related to Darren Kenton from what I understand.
  11. Reading too many The9 posts will do that to you...
  12. True, though he also readily admitted that the pay differentials between us and the top sides wasn't as great back then as it is today.
  13. And yet he excelled in MP's team which was among the league leaders in dominating possession and controlling play. Remember plenty of occasions where he picked the ball off the CBs and played the ball through the lines. He's finding his feet in a united side that reeks of risk aversion from back to front.
  14. Spot on pal. I never ever remember him playing raking cross field balls.
  15. Not sure where the idea that Romeu can't pass the ball has come from up. His range of passing is currently better than JWP's
  16. My favourite two quotes from GOT forum: He has a year left, the club have said he is free to leave, they are giving it the "We would never keep somebody here that doesnt want to be here". A joke of a club. *** Just took a look at the Saints forum. I think they're in the denial phase at the moment.
  17. cogito ergo sum spoken like a true mongboarder.
  18. Clyne has had a very good season. The scousers I know say he's a 8/10 every week. Probably been their most consistent player this season. Lovren is now kicking on and probably first choice CB and Lallana, while still expensive, has justified some of this transfer tag. In terms of honours and big games, they've enjoyed greater success than we have over the same period. Any player who half-trusts their ability and will still fancy their chances at a bigger club. The trackrecord really isn't that bad, except for the obsessed who stalk the defectors watch thread.
  19. If it was for giving interviews, prowsie would already be a ballon d'or winner.
  20. Excellent news - made a huge difference when he returned.
  21. Did I say it never happened at saints? You're the one who was doing the everton sales pitch, pal. I simply pointed out that Koeman has said on record he wanted to see more ambition in recruitment and transfer policy -and that this window was an important one. Ask him if Forster's extension meets this ambition. FWIW I think it's excellent news.
  22. The entire crackpot spectrum is represented here. You'll find an opinion for anything on here. Of course, nobody put those words in Ron's mouth unless he was in on the conspiracy too. Also your pronouns need a bit of work.
  23. I can see how the latter would be a mighty big carrot, couldnt you...
