TDD you don't need to be a brain surgeon to stop people in the street and ask them their views. If they know their job they could also ask for the views of former players and staff. I am not literate enough to be caught on the spot and asked because I just might hurt someone with my views. Illingsworth comes across as a bumbling fool and even people like myself with limited education cringe when he is asked as a fans representative for his views.

I totally agree. I find it both a pi** take at us because we are so dense and sheer plain ignorance and laziness of the media. How is it the media always go to that stupid moronic sounding species(trying to be polite here as it is supposedly a SAINTS FAN) when they want to talk saints. There are thousands of us out there including former players and staff.

He would be ok but not long term I think.

People were giving DMG stick more for lack of effort

A lot of under 21's don't continue improving and then slowly fade away.

Of the three he is definately the best choice in my book. Now can we find us a big strong commanding CB and driving force midfielder to gee the team up.

I am quite pleased because that means they will have no excuses when we give them the stuffing they deserve in the near future. Our time is coming. -
Henderson had the chance to show Pardew that he new the players and how to get them playing. Not to pick a team that conceded too much space and didn't really seem to be at home with the system chosen. I have supported us for well over 50 years and I want to see us trying to win a game first and and foremost. To win you have to score and to do that you need to be able to keep the ball first and learn how to attack second. Then you pick a couple of players who know where the opponents goal is and tell them to shoot. It is not that bloody complicated is it.

SSN are saying FL have cleared the deal and it is now fully exprcted to go ahead
-
John could be playing for a contract and maybe Pardew is ready to give him one. Contract that is before anybody starts.
-
Glad we are picking up a player but where does that leave Fish?
-
With Murty and Perry close to earning their zimmer frames do we really need another candidate for oldest player in the team and or league. We need a big strong midfield general but not only that, he must be able to move above snails pace, ie Wotton.

It felt as though there was a lot of hope being rekindled on saturday. Hope that I expect to be realised in the next few years.

We watched time and time again players being played out of position last season. We could all see that was not the way to go and SH goes and does the same thing against Ajax. Apart from people like Wotton and perhaps Molyneux we should leave the team alone and let Pardew sort them out. JT should not have been sent on as a left winger any more than Fish started as one.
-
One major mixup with KD nearly caused a goal but Murty did look as though he knew what to do. Apart from his lack of fitness he did fairly well until crocked in the second half. With him, Thomas, Perry and Fish we might have a half decent back four. He won't have much life left in him but even a season would help at the moment.

Yes and he will also have a point to prove.

I think the general consensus is one of relief and pleasure. We all feared a much worse appointment and anybody who thought otherwise is dreaming. We now need a few players and I trust AP to bring in some players fully capable of improving the sad frail squad we have at present. Some of our players are about to get a serious culture shock. AP will suffer laziness no more and they will quickly be discarded if unable to show the necessary aptitude for the task ahead. I am looking forward to our new players arriving and can see January being exceptionally hectic if we have to drastically cull the squad. I seriously believe we can now start dreaming of much better fare than that offered over the last few years. Now it is time to improve the drinks and food in the stadium and we will have something to really celebrate with.
-
ML would probably get his right hand man to do it, I imagine. Otherwise I see no reason for there not to be one.
-
To be fair to both AP and Curbs neither had a lot to spend and had to go for cheap almost all the time.

Tomorrow will be our chance to welcome in a new dawn. Let's do it in style. Let's PPPPPPPPPPaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttttttttttttttttttyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

We are bottom of Div1 and minus 10 points. That fact alone cheered me when I heard s couple of days ago that the only name mentioned of note that had applied for the job was Pardews. For him to want the job and not need to be co-erced is a big pluss. It means that he is ready for the battle that lies ahead. I just don't get it with some of the misery guts on here when hearing who had the job. Pardew did an excellent job for Reading and then went to West Ham. Again he did a good job and was removed after a short blip which he might well have been able to turn around. Charlton was a ship sinking slowly before he arrived. They had no money and he struggled. There are hundreds of managers who would have struggled in the same way given the same tools to work with. I say give him a chance and let us show both AP and Markus how we love our club which now includes them.

One thing that we must be careful of in my opinion is not paying to much in wages. We don't want a you were crap{even though true} last season thats why I am getting much more than you scenario. If we can strengthen with a good possible bonus structure I think we will see better end product.
