  1. I just hope that another kid isn't going to leave us as lightweight as we were . 18 and in need of experience. I am not overwhelmed but hope that AP knows a lot more than the previous lot. Something which he has shown us so far. So, welcome jM and I hope you enjoy your stay with us and do us and chelsea proud.
  2. Class!
  3. Though he may help with headers in the box he was turned much too often. Worth a trial though as some of his problems last year could well have been caused by the weakness of our midfield and defence.
  4. The main advantage Gillett has is that he is more mobile. He is very lightweight and can get knocked off the ball too easily. We need muscle and wotton could prove to be useful if we get a larger midfielder to work with. Either that or a more dominant CB.
  5. On another site saw sharp of sheffield United mentioned. Though the back should take priority now surely
  6. Last season we threw a whole load of kids to the wolves in the mistaken belief that some good younguns could beat the hardier experienced pro's in the other teams. AP has already begun changing that and with a couple more additions we will have enough on board to help them. James and Mills have begun this preseason looking bright and better prepared. We are not Arsenal with their array of young talent and shouldn't expect our lot to play with the same results. Adam disappeared last season and up until Northampton had not really done much to boost his claims for first team action. Myself, I would love to see us play with some widemen and defy the opposition to score more than us. We have 2 good strikers with a third learning the ropes. Paterson will get stronger which in turn will make him better. Lallana is never going to be a big strong player but if we have enough muscle around him that shouldn't be as much of a problem as it is now. There are a lot of teams in this league that will clog the weaker teams into submission. AP will know this and will sort it. Adam may well show us more of Tuesday nights form once he has more space which will be provided both with experience and bigger stronger teammates. We still need at least one cB and midfielder. Remeber we are only as strong as our weakest link. Huddersfield and Swindon will show us a lot about our prospects.
  7. Lover? :smt081
  8. Agree completely. Get Ollie out as we did Mills last season. Look what it did for him. Vastly improved because he now knows he can do it and has shown it to boot.
  9. He's in the squad for the game
  10. Finally got player working today. Will be listening to commentary and looking forward to a few goals.
  11. Lambert by the proverbial mile no question. As someone mentioned above it would be nice if we had someone to play alongside him. How about Rasiak? Could he be tempted seeing our intentions?
  12. We are on the way back. May take us a little time but please let me be here to see it.
  13. I don't care how or why. I just care that we now have a striker that can find the back of the net on a regular basis. What price Lambert for top scorer tomorrow and for the season.
  14. And while waiting for a goal We won't sing till.................
  15. How about we'll all sing when Ricky Lambert scores Ricky Lambert scores, Ricky Lambert scores repeated
  16. Did you come back via Switzerland?
  17. Verbal, Livingstone have a few problems, do they have someone we could use.
  18. Yesterday I thought that he was pretty average. He showed a couple of touches but generally he backed out of any serious tackles if he thought he could get hurt.He needs to muscle up and learn that a well timed tackle will do more good than harm. Size isn't everything but boy can it help. He isn't helped either by the lack of a minder or two in the team. I would like to see him play behind a front two but with the squad that we have that probably wouldn't work. To accomodate him there we would need two big strong centre midfield players to pick up the pieces. I don't think Pulis will work out though AP might have seen something. Gobern could help with more experience as could a few of the kids. Experience like last seasons will not help as confidence gets shot to pieces. Myself I would play him in the reserves and try to find him a position that he can stake a serious claim to in the future. Adam has shown glimpses of what he can do but he can only produce when everything is right for him. In fact I am beginning to doubt whether he can be played if Morgan is in the side. On yesterdays performance I would prefer Morgan. It would be very nice if Adam could prove me wrong.
  19. Thomson was fairly good in the air but still has a habit of getting caught on the wrong side of the man he was marking. Perry is what he has always been. He is a player that always tries. Trouble now is that he is getting caught for his lack of speed more often and he has never been tall. He will always give his all but that is not always enough. He is a perfect standin for cover as and when needed.
  20. Looks like we are casting our net wide if true. That can only be a good thing.
  21. I agree about his dad. His dad played for a Southern league team called wimbledon that climbed to the top. at least I think he was in at the beginning. It didn't do him any harm and just perhaps he could advise his son as to how the cameraderie forged in the early days helped in no small way in their climb. Crazy gang mentality is just what we could do with right now.
  22. I left the final word for the rest to decide. They can fill it in as they please.
  23. Just for the record and for the idiot who posted such libellous claims. I used to live and work in London. I worked as a mini-cab driver for a large co based in Queenstown road. I also worked for another large company in forest hill. A lot of my time was spent working the Lewisham, Catford, New X areas. Many of the Millwall nutters are not council scum. Trust me, when they want to do a meet with other fans it is organised by money. A vast amount is spent organising these events and the magority of the hardest thugs are well paid house owners/ private tenants. I was at the game yesterday with my 10 year old daughter and 5 year old son. We saw no problems and chatted with lots of the Lions fans. They also had a large contingent of families at SMS. Trying to make yourself big and in the swing hasn't worked at all J BIZZLE in fact you have made yourself look like a complete
  24. MLT is was and always will be welcome at SMS. I also feel that our new owner will know why he had such a reception. We do not forget our greats or our previous players who have put the heart into playing for us. MLT IS A LEGEND - SIMPLE AS.
  25. This just has to be the first of many windups for this season. We all know that a lost season ticket if handed back to the club will be returned to its rightful owner.
