  1. Enjoy the game all of you. I have a feeling we could really turn it on. Hope so. Sing your hearts out.
  2. Good idea AP Time for all our away fans to sing our Saints songs and roar the team on like never before. Maybe find a song or two that can be altered slightly to let the world know we are always going to support our team and nobody can stop us.
  3. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6211415.ece Doesn't look very promising.
  4. Not bad for a first season . Only 1 scored the magic 20 plus and his goals didn't do us much good. DMG will do better next year and more so if he can add a little more muscle.
  5. Thanx for that. I'll see you all there. 5yo son as well if allowed.
  6. Either I am blind or the date is missing. Can someone help?
  7. Well done Exeter. Enjoy the moment because we will put you in your place never fear. Especially if we have nicked your boss.
  8. For what it's worth I absolutely abhor my mother in law. However I respect her for giving me her daughter. Different topic but same principle I believe. You don't have to like someone but can still respect their achievements.
  9. Reminds me of the Watford match where there 1st goalscorer at st Mary's could have been sent off for violent conduct before his chance came later in the game. Ref didn't even give us a foul. Story of our season though sadly.
  10. Does anyone have contact with a relatively openminded media source? The ref BOTTLED it and even sky sports didn't highlight it. If only we were still one of the favoured then carlisle would have been hauled over the coals. Perhaps Matt should be shown the film of it because it must be on the film of the match.
  11. Just think what we would think if Holmes came back as manager and took us up the leagues as he has Salisbury. Plus he has little or no money to play with.
  12. Bobby was a stalwart for us and would have played a lot more in a weaker team. Then there is the 83rd minute goal for which he will always be remembered.
  13. Taken from another forum Early second half Wayman pulls a thigh muscle but carries on. A Bates shot hits bot posts, drops on the line and is cleared. 82min Bates draws most of the Tottenham defence, slips the ball to Wayman, Wayman shoots with his injured left leg, Ditchburn parries it, the ball goes back to Wayman who scores with his right foot. 0-1 Wayman had to be carried from the pitch and did not play again all season. The defence, especially Wilkins, was given credit for a famous victory.
  14. John B he played for Pompey 1942 before joining us. Ramsey was born in Dagenham, Essex. Having been a gifted amateur as a pupil and as a player for his army regiment, he played for Portsmouth in the London War League in 1942 before moving to Southampton from 1943 to 1949 taken from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alf_Ramsey
  15. Ted Bates Avenue leading to his statue and St Mary's stadium is fine in my book. Seeing as that gives a hint of remembrance to our beginnings. Lawrie Mac stand, Terry Paine stand, Le Tissier stand are all good shouts. For some of the really mature on here Charlie Wayman could have been the biggest of all. We all know the story 8 points clear and he gets injured etc. How many know that in the game against spurs in which he got injured he played on. Playing on with a torn thigh muscle and making it worse was not enough because he even went on and scored on one leg. Nuff said. Time to be shot down now I guess. But there are more names available and if we can't find one suitable we leave a stand till we do. DMG in 12 plus years perhaps.(tongue in cheek)
  16. Sir Alf came from the blue side of our beautiful county.
  17. Bye bye saga. You won't be missed. What a waste.
  18. First season and really chucked into the deep end. In my book he hasn't done to badly. Maybe could have done a bit more but when we were playing such a load of untried kids at the start and they got found wanting the management was incapable of giving any help. James would never make it was the general feeling after a few games but has ended up as one of the seasons stars.
  19. If we get sorted we will finish above Rovers of that I am sure. While not a big club we do have a larger fan base and as soon as bought we will be getting ready to buy our ST's. Don't be surprised to see as many bought as last season if not a few more.
  20. How about the time we had a club? Who will be in our team next season if we have a new owner/s. Will we make the playoffs? Just for starters.
  21. I would like to keep James,DMG and Surman Nobody seems overly enamoured with Spiderman and I would sell him if there is a buyer. We need a back or two and another CB to see us thru in defence. Midfield we could do with a muscular driving force as up front a muscular target man. Get rid of Smith ,Euell Saga and Lallana who are either lazy conceited or just not up to it. Gobern, Mcclaggon and Paterson should be pushing for a game next season and if not get rid. The new manager will have his own ideas and hopefully will be given a free hand to buy and sell as he sees fit within our means. We do have to get Kelvin on a contract asap and Saeijs if a deal can be worked could also be a good signing in a league where talent is not as plentiful.
  22. Talk is cheap. Actions are what we have wanted.
  23. To be able to keep a player like Surman we would simply need couple of hard grafters around him. Give him a chance to perform and I am fairly confident he will. Le tiss wasn't the greatest tackler either but he won lots of games for us . Not that Drew is in his class but he has sometimes shown a bit of grit. He needs more muscle both on him and around him to flourish. Everyone says Saeijs has done well but he has made some horendous mistakes at the back which have cost us goals. DMG is another that could do with putting some muscle on. We will probably keep the bulk of our team next year and as such they will have had a very tough year to grow. Next season could with a decent manager see all the youngsters toughened up a bit or shipped out. It's not much fun seeing your players being brushed aside week in week out. Surman,Lallana,DMG and James have all had a tough year and if we keep them they could help us back to the CCC. Of them all Lallana to me is the weakest and easiest to replace.
  24. All we need is a buyer. Then someone to recognise that we need him. Then that someone(hopefully a bloody good manager) to say sign here. Kelvin is not dumb and knows we are now only a div 1 team so won't ask for silly wages.
  25. We have had some good times and I sincerely hope that it won't be that long before they return.
