  1. I was one of many that marched against Lowe. The spectre of administration was even then a probability. This said I don't believe we felt if Lowe quit in response we would be on the path that we are now on. The only doubt I now have is the lack of posts of some of the organisers of the marches etcetera. I am now worried that we helped our demise even though I paid to go to the games after. I know some didn't. If Crouch has as suggested, put some more money into our club, I thank him. I still wouldn't want him to be part of the club again unless as a season ticket holder. He like the rest had his time and now it has gone. Lowe did in the beginning look as though he would be fairly good for us. The fact is he screwed up big time. I still say his biggest mistake second time around was his pigheaded arrogance in the way he refused to change a losing system.
  2. God this is painful. One minute I am thinking that we are going to be all right and our saviour will arrive in the nick of time. The next I am looking at the end of nearly 60 years of my supporting a local football team. Someone get us out of this mess please.
  3. The last sentence is the best way forward in my opinion if clubs are not going to go to the wall on a regular basis.
  4. He won't be alone. Generally speaking players are checked by the likes of Fergie for far more than their footy skills. Character is also a big factor on his list of player requisites. Though in a much lower league we need a manager who can pick players with adequate skill and lots of character. The money we'll have won't be great so it is far more important that everyone we buy is prepared for the task ahead. Contracts should show a steady rise according to our means and position. This is something our club has failed to do as indeed have several others. They must also show a cut if we were to go down again. Players play for money and will not want to play for nought which is what a lot of ours were worth this season.Any bonuses should be paid at the end of the season as well which could make the team play even if nothing to play for relatively speaking.
  5. Going down to Division 1 if we're bought soon enough will mean very few away supporters for a lot of the games. For us to unite behind the team we need to see players with steel in the team. A modern day Jimmy case or two with a hard no nonsence halfback(showing my age) A big strong centre forward would also be a major asset. With enough muscle in the team I feel the kids would be able to develop a lot more easily. Throughout our history we have sold players to the big boys and with luck this will be possible and not at our expense. We need to revert to a club with solid backing from the fans as a lot on here have begun saying. God willing this club of ours will soon start the fightback to the promised land. I must admit that this thread has given me hope for our future. While we are here it can not die. When do we start buying SR's is the first questions for the owner/s.
  6. I would hope that the council would block any such bids. Also they could help by stating openly that they would do so to make the stadium unsaleable. The ground was originally found unfit for residential dwellings anyway I believe.
  7. I tend to agree that if the bid was any good Fry would have already started the serious talking with them.
  8. Perfectly put. There are a lot of us feel the same.
  9. Mark Fry told radio solent that Pinnacle failed to deliver as requested. Lynam though has said that he is still confident. Who do we believe?
  10. God I hope you're right. Meanwhile we just sit and wait.
  11. Brinksmanship of the worst order Perhaps??? I sincerely hope so anyway.
  12. Well hopefully we will soon know once and for all. I am worried that we will be struggling to survive if nothing happens today.

Quote by Up Up and Away I would not have a problem with this position, if you had done everything possible in the small way a supporter does to avoid this happening. You decided not to support the club whilst Lowe was there and are now unhappy with what remains. You and others decided this was the best action, but have suddenly realised the results of your actions and don't like it. Well wise up and grow a pair. I hope when you become a gooner you leave our legend's name behind
  14. Until he quit
  15. If the club is bought then whoever the buyer may be will know that bills need to be paid. The wage bill being the first and most important item at present. I would imagine that this bill could well be the stumbling block. if they pay the bill will it be included in the price being paid. IE would the half million be part of the original price? The sooner the deal is struck the sooner the ST's can be readied for sale.
  16. One of the fairest ways , in my book, to share the money is to limit the number of televised games each club can have per season. As good as they can be Utd seem to be the team shown week in week out at the moment. I know this will upset the plastic Utd style fans who have never bothered to go to their ground but so what. A fan who can watch his struggling team week in week out has much more right to seeing his club on the box than these plastics. The big 4 have televised Champions League games and should be restricted in all fairness to aide other clubs get a share. There are the 4 leagues and I would propose a split of the money between leagues of 30%,25%,25% and 20%. All percentages split equally between the clubs. Failing that I would offer a 20% of sum total per league. This would leave 20% which could go to the teams seen on the box pro rata the number of games. All leagues getting the same sum in principal. The poorer clubs could in this way be helped and the larger more affluent clubs in the main would have their bigger gates. Add to this the limit that Eufa are considering on club expenditure and you have a much fairer system financially. ALL IN MY HONEST OPINION of course.
  17. He has always shown promise and could even force his way into pole position before the next season starts properly. Especially as I would think Kelvin is likely to move on. MP's experience this season will have done him the world of good.
  18. Good or bad these people have done something to help our club. Personally I will buy it as My 5 yo will be able to play it in the car as we drive to games. As long as we are still alive.
  19. Like a lot of people have previously stated, I have no wish for the feelings regarding the frailty of our club on anyone else. The lower leagues have always seen sides struggle but now is the time for the authorities to reign the richer clubs in. Sanity has to return before our game is totally destroyed. To me it seems so obvious why so many clubs are now in danger of going to the wall. The riches on offer to the select few are so immense that clubs will over spend endeavoring to reach them. With more and more insane amounts of money being paid for overseas players we are allowing far too much to leave the game. Instead of wishing our fate on others people should be fighting the powers that be to change the structure of our game financially. It has been done before with wage restraints and again with the Bosman ruling so can be done. Spread the wealth in a more even manner and the game will be safe. ALL IN MY HONEST OPINION OF COURSE.
  20. The SMS stadium has only one major drawback in my book. At our old ground "The Dell" we were often in touching distance of the players as we were so close to the action. When our new ground was built this should have been incorporated into the plans. The closer you are to the action the greater the feeling of being a part of it. When we had a full house the ground really rocked. At SMS you are quite a bit away and this can have a detrimental effect on the crowd and the players. Especially when a large proportion of our support was brought up in the hallowed ground now defunct. SMS is a relatively well built stadium but it was not built in my opinion first and foremost with the support in mind. We were only in my view, ever considered as a means of revenue.
  21. If as the echo is still showing the talking continues there must be a good reason. Either fry wants some more or the Consortium don't like the way the books are looking or the way the fence seems to be placed. None of us know exactly what they are discussing but if this is last chance saloon I hope they keep talking until a solution is reached.
  22. The saying tomorrow never comes is certainly close to the mark.
  23. The biggest reason has left the building. Let's just pray for a satisfactory conclusion to this bartering. Anything more will be a bonus.
  24. Bang on FS. Added to that was the fact Charlie scored when injured and would have come off in today's game and probably wouldn't have missed all eight games left.
