  1. I believe the new owner has already sounded someone out if the thread somewhere else is to be believed.
  2. My only concern is that a new owner could show us a glimmer of light and then take it away again.
  3. Not overly botherd by that result but nice to see our boys were up to it in Kazakhstan winning 4-0 while Croatia drew 2-2.
  4. So the trust is in the same restricted manner as the mafia. Once in you can never leave. Guess Nick must be a godfather. Which branch is he closest to, Italian or American? This is a load of tosh. He is asked some questions and gives his answers. In most respects he is saying similar to the majority of FANS. I DON'T KNOW HIM AND DON'T PARTICULARLY CARE IF i DIE BEFORE MEETING HIM. WE ALL HAVE ACCESS TO THE ECHO AND CAN GIVE A OUR OPINIONS.
  5. If exciting is the feeling i have felt for the last few weeks I need to remember to take my medicine. The real fear that our club was in it's deaththrows does not ,to me, equal the feeling after Bobby Stokes scored the winner. Or the feeling I got the first time i watched the saints oh so many years ago.
  6. Good thing about it is that we will still have a team playing next season. A good turnout will do us no harm either. I'm quite looking forward to seeing our new setup in action.
  7. Should get a good gate and we will see a real dutch team playing.
  8. Derry you seem to have a bit of an idea about this and seem relatively calm, so perhaps we should take our lead from you. As well as some others who seem quite relaxed and confident regarding our future.
  9. I would love to see Tisdale as manager. He can work with little capital and provides teams that try to play in an entertaining style without losing the winning habit. His knowledge of the lower leagues could work in our favour really well. Finding players and cheaply to strengthen us and knowing how to combat the style of the division.
  10. Going back to MLT, I would hope the group told him of the plan regarding our future before he backed them. I feel sure that they would have outlined their intensions in the same way he would have told them what is needed.

Mills was nearly destroyed by the dutch as he was terrified of playing by the time Surman was put in his place. James was strong enough to fight his way into a half decent RB by the end of the season. Playing for Scunny has done him the world of good as he had cover from his experienced defence and midfield. something neither back had with us. Gillett is the player that we missed most when injured. Pulis we have never seen so he could be treated as a new signing if any good. Getting on Surman,Lallana and DMG's case in the circumstances I feel a little unfair.
  12. When the deal is done I am hoping we get a manager who knows the division we are in and the CCC. This season i am hoping for a good run with possibly a go at the playoffs. To do that we need a good start to clear the -10 points quickly so that we can begin climbing the table. We all seem in agreement that we need a few new players to supplement those we already have. As it seems likely we will be selling a few that means we need to move pretty soon. It will do us no good to see this deal drag on and on as that will limit our options as to who is available. I would expect MLT has already spoken to the Pinnacle consortium about this most salient topic being an experienced pro. With the price apparently agreed it should hopefully mean we are near to knowing exactly who is running the club very soon. I hope we get a nice surprise.
  13. I have been pleasantly surprised by Wotte's demeanour during the talks. He has done himself no harm at all. He has been exceedingly professional and worked for the club's best interests.
  14. Though to be honest dowie in my book would do a good job for us. He has shown he knows how to get teams promoted and given a run he could do a job for us.
  15. Is it not possible that Dowie married her sister? She could have been single.
  16. Everythings looking rosy. It's looking red and white.
  17. Pretty football can do the job if the players are also capable of mixing it when necessary

  19. Fry had to get as much as he could/can. We knew that at the beginning as should all of the interested parties. Why should Jackson not believe Fry when told another offer was on the table? Basically he didn't have the funds to compete.
  20. I fancy the first friendly to take a look at the new set-up before the season begins.
  21. Was a time I nearly gave up on the Saints. Frustrated and scared that my 5yo son would change his mind and decide to follow one of the teams that were always on tv. Last season he saw 4 of the games I saw and not one win. Seeing how poor we were I would start the day in Southampton in the shop. Then we would have our burger and chips(loads of sauce). Once thirst was quenched a slow stroll to the stadium which he always enjoyed because of the vast numbers in our colours. The game which dragged slowly to the inevitable conclusion and a walk to the car. Luckily he always enjoyed the day and was not as bothered bythe result as myself. He will learn no doubt that it helps to win a few games as he grows older. The day I nearly called the whole thing off was the day of the Watford game. Walking away I made up my mind that I had had enough. As I turned for one last look my son was beaming. He was as happy as Larry and didn't give a toss that we had lost. For him the day was enough. Surprising how quickly your mind can change back. Next season I fully expect to take him when we win. Then he will notice the difference in the atmosphere. His room is covered in saints memorabilia dating back to 1976. Now all we need is a quick deal, new manager and some players to bolster our lightweight squad. The news over the last few days has left me anticipating the new season in a way that I have not felt for a long time. I actually believe we are going to start the fightback and am really starting to look forward to the day we get back up to the CCC. One step at a time though as we need to grow in a more sensible manner according to our funds. Bring on the new season. My apologies for rambling. They say the body goes before the mind. Says a lot for my body I guess.
  22. That sums it up perfectly in my eyes.
  23. Yes that was a good night. We needed a point and so did they. The second half was like a celebration party starting early as both sets of fans enjoyed the sharing of the spoils.
  24. As long as the bid becomes a done deal, I for one, won't really give two hoots as to whether any ITK's, actually were. All I want now is to see a manager bringing in some players and ringing the changes. I never wish to watch us playing anything remotely similar to Dutch football ever again.
