Well I've just taken delivery of a £17.99 version of our top - i.e. no Saints logo, no sponsor. It's actually not too bad - better quality than last seasons abomination, but then I have saved an awful lot of money this time round. Pity the club have not seen a penny of my money, but then they should have considered their supporters a bit more and not chosen such a cheap design.

This appears to be much more likely than some of the dreamed up fantasies of some posters on here. lol

Signs are that the market is slow - we'll not be hearing anything definite for a couple of weeks I suspect, but I'm not expecting very high value signings (i.e. above £8m).

It seems obvious to the realists on here that this is one player we can dream of getting, but will never see in a Saints shirt. Too big a target too soon.

I think they're so busy dealing with buyers at SMS they don't have the time/resources to post - I've yet to receive mine, but hey there's a few weeks before kick-off yet.

They really have got hold of the wrong end of the stick there. He said he knows nothing of the detail regarding the negotiation - his agent is dealing with it - not that he knows nothing about the contact. They've just spun the information a different way. I suspect he used careful phrasing because he's been told not to give anything away to the media or the deal is off. This one is therefore looking more likely to me.

As has been said above, we have seen a mix of both incoming youngsters and home-grown, but they've got to be good enough. Some the problem currently is that we've come up from L1 too quickly for top, top youngsters to bleed through the system. There are some waiting in the wings I believe and their time will come, but there's a small matter of ensuring we bridge the gap until they're ready and improve the squad we have. We can either do that with aging journeymen or very good youngsters...you do the math.
