If we were able to keep Lallana and Shaw and sign a couple of top forwards I would be much more easy about seeing Lambert get his 'dream move'. Fact is, this is not just about Lambert in most fans eyes - it's about the systematic watering down of the experienced talent in the 1st team to raise funds to pay for a top heavy Board of Directors including a new Marketing genius. It FEELS like Lowe all over again - not investing enough in the 1st team - and we all know where that leads.

Oh boy...amazing how an apparently steady ship over the last 5 years suddenly turns out to be a complete ship-wreck in a matter of just days. I cannot believe that Reed has not contributed in some way to the success of the club, however I keep falling back to the fact that under Cortese the club was efficiently well run with everyone singing off the same song-sheet. In a matter of a few weeks it's turned into some kind of freak show.

If we lost Lambert and kept Lallana and Shaw I would be 'happier' TBH.
-
Feels like we've turned full circle back to the days of Lowe...pay for a more expensive ST to watch a depleted squad full of nippers. Who knows, it might turn out to be better than that...much better...but right now I'm not feeling it.
-
#itshappeningbutnotthewayweexpected Yup, true enough...this Board are really playing a blinder. Ralph...the new Lowe?
-
Great season for us and I hope he stays, but too early to tell if he's worthy of captaincy perhaps?
-
Has a definite ring of possibility to it, but hopefully the Board would not take a chance on this guy.
-
Joy of joys. Let's hope the Board are more ambitious eh?
-
Shaw. Was told Lallana has put in a transfer request however it seems there might a stumbling block - perhaps Ralph blocked it.
-
It's pretty easy to feel bad about his lack of loyalty, but let's face it very few in football nowadays will show it and we just don't know what the other side of the story was. My feeling is that had Cortese still been here, Mopo would too. So I'll not be booing...I'll not be cheering either...disrespectful indifference is the name of the game.
-
Well that's a relief. Mind you, could be someone even worse I guess.
-
Has anything been said about his coaching staff going with him? (Sorry if it's been posted already somewhere - can't find anything).
-
No.

Guarded naturally, but interesting. You can take his words and twist them whichever way, but the proof of the pudding as they say. If Poyet was appointed for example, the Board would still claim that he was the choice man to match their high ambitions.
-
You're correct I did, but have since read much of the interesting stuff on here. Frankly means nothing to be fair - doesn't mean he will be in the running. I have heard Poyet has been at SMS twice before the season ended. The Board knew Mopo was off weeks ago and have been working on a replacement way before now. Would love it to be Yakin, but I'm not expecting his arrival to be honest.
-
Lowe #2 anyone?
-
Amazing to see many on here still thinking we're about to appoint a decent coach such as De Boer or Yukin (would love that to be true). Think more...err...Poyet? That's probably nearer the truth and reflective of the Board's 'ambition'.
-
#itshappeningbutnotthewayweexpected I would hope most would now have an inkling of why I posted the above a week or two ago. And to those who think Mopo is to blame, well think again. Cause and reaction is appropriate here...Mopo has gone because our Board either (a) didn't want to do the things necessary to keep him here or (b) have another 'master plan' involving another candidate - we have been visited twice now by Poyet so I'm told. I dare say there will be player reactions - whether they are positive we'll have to wait and see, but I have little faith that this Board has the ambition of the fans or the players that will see the club build on last season. Gutted only just covers it.

Obviously. PMSL. And of course how would he keep players if KL told him that the club had to sell? Its clearly a pack of lies...he never had the best interests of the club in mind. -

That bit you've mentioned really interests me. Surely if that were true, then all the money spent on marketing and advertising in all it's various forms (dare I mention the #itshappening campaign?!) is a waste of time and money. I'd suggest the club is arguably more concerned now with how it's viewed by the fan-base than when Cortese was here. The press seem to be doing a great job of providing much negative PR for the club at the moment and this latest story just adds to the impression the wheels are wobbling a bit. -

Seek counselling fella - your WUM routine will not work on me - I'm much too laid back to concern myself about how you 'clever people' view the seriousness of an internet forum. -

Seriously....I didn't have you tagged as thick Trousers and so I don't think I really need to explain that my post is an ironic take on the clubs '#itshappening' pr campaign. Humour, irony or sarcasm should only be attempted by the select few on here. Sorry about that.' -

The problem I think Weston is that every little bit of 'news' (whether that is fact or rumour) so far appears to be somewhat negative. We've just finished a fantastic campaign and yet there's a significant 'feel bad' opinion swelling among the fanbase. Sure there will be some who say "lets wait and see", but its disappointing that ANY bad and unsettling news is surfacing when we were expecting the club to 'push-on'. Perhaps its a case of one step back two forward?
