I take it you've never gambled atall then? Anyways, not a pointless guess as such - just a feeling in me water.

Any real benefit in shutting the chapel?
Saint Fan CaM replied to ooohTerryHurlock's topic in The Saints
Perhaps thats because they had many more windows open for new ticket sales? The queue for new ticket sales was moving much quicker than that for collections only which makes pre-sales a complete joke (especially if there was no price difference). The customer service and ticket office management ****ed up big time for this game. -
Anyone calling for Pimpley must be daft - even with their rubbish team at the moment the chances are they would still have too much about them and we would get spanked and embarrised. Too soon. And why face a big name Prem team like Arsenal when there are lesser teams still in the competition that we could beat and go through to the next round? More prestige and more money for the club. I think we'll either draw Brighton or Burnley.

Keep up - he's already been denounced as a fool on another thread.

Notts Co. I think were after him last Nov. but he refused the loan move at which time Coleman did say something might happen in January. I guess if the money is right this rumour might have some legs. Exciting if true.

Well it would be a clear intent signing by AP/NC if true and it comes off. Just difficult to believe we have that kind of pulling power just yet. Is he out of contract then?

Well you wouldn't know would you, however the traffic into Southampton from the west of the city was horrendous for some reason and gridlock. I had to divert. I can tell you that there was a very large number of people behind us when we eventually got to the collection window. Two windows open? I could say the ticket office were lazy by clearly having prior knowledge of the numbers who would be collecting and only putting on two windows! -

Hang on - as I said originally, I paid for the tickets days before the match but chose to collect the tickets. In all the years going to SMS have I ever seen such a huge queue just to collect tickets - whatever system they employ seems to have changed and today it did not work - it was rubbish. -
Sounds a bit unlikely to me. About to enter his prime playing time and dropping down a division? Unless the money is too tempting then I cannot see this happening.

We won and I thought AP got the tactics right too. I thought Hammond and Schneiderlin worked better together today, with the latter getting forward a little bit more and chasing/pressing in central mid. Lamberts goal was superb, however his all round game is lacking still and I remember Rasiak getting slated on here for similar displays. We need another Connolly type striker (inc. quality) as this player makes up for Ricky's shortcomings (Paterson is not good enough). I thought once they settled Perry and Thomas did OK, but the defence in general is need of repair and improvement. Antonio was not great, but Lallana was a bit 'blunt' today also. We need RB, CB, CAM, RW, LW and ST to complete the squad IMO. Please let's be ambitious and get some quality signings in and then push for that play-off spot in earnest.

After the shambles at the ticket office prior to todays match, I would actually now like to see some basic level of customer service from the ticket planning team at SMS. E.g.... (1) When you write to ST holders and tell them that a perk of buying an ST is that their seat will be made available to them, please keep to that promise. I and many others in the Kingsland (for example) were not offered that opportunity. (2) Invest in a better ticketing system that can handle a modest walk-up at least for collections - that's people that have bought in advance of the game - rather making them queue for 35 minutes missing a significant portion of the match!

The whole organisation around ticketing and seating for this game was rubbish IMO. Firstly, the club broke one of its central mandates to ST holders by not offering us the opportunity to purchase our ST seats (e.g. mine is in block 30). Secondly, I have never known the ticketing office to be in such a shambles for a 15k ticket game - it took me 35 minutes to queue to collect my 2 tickets meaning we missed the first 15-20 minutes of the 1st half. Sort it out please Mr Cortese - this is basic stuff. I trust this poor level of customer service does not reflect what we might expect in the Premiership with 30k gates - it will be intolerable then! -
Agree with comments above regarding need in the past although it is getting colder to the point where frozen ground will stop a game. I think they put covers on the pitch nowadays though?
-
Looking at the particularly cold weather of late got me thinking about SMS and a rumour from a while back that under pitch heating pipes had been installed but heaters had not. Just wondering if anyone has any up to date info on this? Seemslike it's another investment Markus might consider alongside Staplewood to improve SMS?

If this guy is serious, he needs serious counselling.

Have to agree with Alpine on this one. OL is not the finished product and his spell with Grimsby may well have helped HIM, where he will probably be playing alongside a standard of player that makes him look OK. If we are to aspire to the likes of Grimsby then I would say, yes, play him. If you want to aspire higher (much higher), then he really is not going to be a part of a team that will get you there (not at this stage of his career anyway).

What news on ticket sales for the Luton match
Saint Fan CaM replied to brianoneils slidingtackle's topic in The Saints
What the hell is going on with the quoting stuff today - I never wrote that! -
Thought I might as well start a thread off. As usual this one on paper should be a sure-fire Saints win, however if there's a team that could cause an upset, I think its Luton as they have some decent players. Craddock is a forward in form and they have a decent QPR striker on loan who is doing the business too. They have nothing to lose with this, so I cannot see them coming here to shut up shop in the first half certainly. As normal with Saints, if we can keep a clean sheet to half-time, they should start to tire earlier and we'll come away with it. If they score early it could prove to be another slog to get back into the game. Prediction : Saints 2 - Luton 1. COYS!

Absolutely right. There should be some kind of statement on the OS explaining why the decision was first made and now recinded by opening almost the entire ground. It certainly dilutes an advantage of owning an ST and only serves to promote the action of booking seats later rather than sooner. -

Sorry, but that's wrong. Part of the 'deal' with ST's is the supposed benefit of having preference to 'your' seat when other games such as cup games are issued. This is not happening consistently now and I see it as a (minor) violation of the clubs original contract commitment with ST holders. -

I agree with the comments on the Kingsland release. The majority of this stand is filled with loyal ST holders who deserve better frankly. I have bought two tickets in block 33, but would much prefer to have had the option to buy my own seat in block 30. Not happy with the manner in which the club are dealing with the stand restrictions - a policy re-think is needed please Mr Cortese.
