That makes for some good reading Duncan thanks. I did wonder whether this might end up as a possibility. My only hope is that the two groups don't cancel each other out in the negotiations and we end up with neither.

Completely agree with the original post. We have to raise the roof for OUR team on Saturday. Why? 1. Because we support the mighty Saints. 2. Our new owner(s) will almost certainly be there watching... and listening. 3. We need to show the footballing world that we will not be moved - Saints forever. 4. We still need to win the last two games -10 points or not. COME ON YOU SAINTS. ONE TEAM. ONE VOICE.

You've got the basics there covered.

Cannot believe for one minute that anyone with a keen business head would let Lowe near a company where a large proportion of its customers have zero confidence in him or his product. I think Lowe is gone for good - if not then, I am.
-
Fair play to KD (and Size). I for one would want to see these two guys and Perry back in Saints colours next season - could do a lot worse frankly and the team needs to be built from somewhere. Its all in the hands of Fry and how advanced he is with the potential buyers.

Excellent point well made BTF.

Why should he not quote what Rupert and his cohorts told him?

What a bunch of two-faced shallow individuals. LC is OK all the while he is pumping his money into the club (even prior to being a major shareholder) - acting as an ambassador - saving projects ****ed up by others? His comments are of little consequence NOW - if there is a good case to appeal, then we will win. It's very likely we will not win, but it will have f*ck all to do with LC's comments. Truth is the horse bolted when Lowe didn't put us into admin in March. Everyone needs to wake-up and smell the League One coffee. By far the biggest issue facing this club is its financial survival between now and when a new buyer walks in.

Meeting Thurs 23rd with Trust, SISA, Saveoursaints, 2 MPs, LM and MC

Derry - many thanks for the report and I am glad somebody is taking a lead and trying to do something. There are some key questions that in my mind are not clear and I would like to see the answers put on a sticky at the top of this forum. I agree also that the key monetary figure needed to survive until take-over, is published properly and publicly as soon as possible. Here are the questions... 1. My understanding is that £1m has been pledged to help the cause. If this is so, why not just call in those pledges? They amount to four times the £250k being bandied about, so what's the problem? 2. Why are the players not being lobbied a lot harder to contribute? They have been partly responsible for the poor results this season and frankly can afford, on a pro-rata basis, to contribute. 3. How do we know where the donated money is going to? Is there a mechanism that can be set-up in conjunction with the administrator that ensures that ALL monies paid by fans go DIRECTLY to the running of the club and NOT someone's personal pocket or indeed the administrators themselves. If this was possible, I believe many more individuals would have some faith in helping out and contributing. -
What a rubbish thread. What the hell is the guy supposed to say? He is not a shareholder, he is not a Director. He is just an influential and passionate fan who is doing his best to keep the club going. Get some perspective and give the guy a break FFS.

Completely agree - MODS please delete posts that use insulting and threatening language...it really drags this forum into the gutter.

The few players that HAVE put in enough effort
Saint Fan CaM replied to scott_saints's topic in The Saints
Its not just about the players though. Its about the system they're being asked to play. It's not worked consistently from day one. OK, we've had a couple of good wins, but it's not enough against teams that change to suit the opposition...i.e. not good enough against teams that have strong management and coaching staffs. Look at the difference between JP and Wotte - same squad, but Wotte decided to put 2 up front and hey presto we start scoring and winning some games. It was the same last year when Pearson came in and turned a crap squad into an OK squad. Water under the bridge now, but if only Wotte had had the balls to change the midfield too when needed, we might not have suffered some of the awful loses this season. -
Sorry, but I cannot agree with or condone some of the juvenile comments made on here. MW ploughed much money in to oust Lowe - he clearly believed that he could make a difference and for a short while he did. The first problem was that he lost control of the club to his employees the Execs. The second mistake he made was letting Lowe back (after Leon did his dirty work and got rid of the Execs) because he let his personal feelings get in the way of his business. He has paid the price and lost millions because of his failings. However, thanks to his mis-management and weakness the club has been brought to its knees. And for this he must go down as the most despised shareholder next to Lowe. I would not call him a fan or supporter - not now. Mike - you are no longer welcome at SMS - don't bother coming back. Lastly, lets also not forget the absolute shambles of a business that Lowe managed to engineer over his time at the club. He made so many mistakes, that in volume terms, Wildes pale by comparison. Lowe has most of the blood on his hands IMO.

I wish I had never found out about this forum (and its predecessor). Spent far too much of my life reading the nonsense and adding to it.

5-0 Saints. We are going to trounce them because sod's law says so. And you heard it here first. Thank you.
-
Magilton with Gorman would not be a bad management team in L1 to be fair.
-
Alps - that won't happen until we've got our new owner, won L1 and got promoted, won CCC and got back to the Prem. You might find some on here might concede to the one step back, two steps forward principle.
-
Get over yourself - pull together - brighter times on the way. We knew this would be tough - very tough, but it will be worth it in the end. SFC will live-on and go on to bigger and better things - we had to take a step back to take two forward. Now it the time when true Saints will stand together and sing the club back to the Prem.
-
Mate, I know you're hurting and it is Lowe's fault, but that's behind us now. There is every chance our new owner will be in the Directors area. Let's give them a reason to be proud of us - wear Red n White - be proud - we're not down and out yet - just bruised from a hard fight. The mighty Saints are here to stay and with the right leadership and great support, we will be fighting back. NO MORE NEGATIVITY - ONE VOICE - COME ON YOU SAINTS!
-
Glad I got an invite to a box on Saturday now...will be much closer to the real action in the Directors area to see who's who. Just hope it doesn't take too long to get some good news back into the club and something positive to support again.

League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
Saint Fan CaM replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
....and Lowe and Wilde should never allow their shadows to darken Southampton again...I would fear for their safety. Absolute incompetence of the highest order and Lowe particularly doesn't deserve to work again. -
League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
Saint Fan CaM replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
I find the decision to be disgraceful in the extreme. If they documented the rules and we've not broken the rules then there was no reason to deduct points. I am so glad Fry has decided to appeal - it's a terrible decision by the league and the timing is worse. The club will survive though - the support is too significant for it not to. -
I dropped mine full of char some months ago. Since then there's been a lot of 'tea leafs' about the place. Does that mean anything?
