  1. Its a shame, but certainly not something that i imagine only Saints fans do. It is just frustrating at times, especially on forums such as this that players get such a bad name so easily when you can see they have something the others don't. I remember Lallana and Surman being slagged off and many believing they should be sold or released the season that we went down. I also saw something in McG (probably only me lol) but IMO he seems more of a midfielder then a striker. It doesn't help the players that we seem to get on their backs so easily and so vocally however, hearing your own fans booing you when you are trying your best must be pretty much the most confidence destroying thing that can happen.
  2. I probably agree, i would rather start Barnard TBH as i rate him, but then why should Lambert get an automatic slot ? Fantastic last season and has had a bit of a bumpy ride this one as his 2 goals from open play suggest. Still, on top form he is arguably the best striker in league 1. I don't think we should just chuck Barnard in for every minute we can however as we have a few games catching up and it will eventually take its toll on the side. Barnard is one of my favourite players aswell BTW, but it is because of his workrate, something that i think Guly has aswell as what i would say good vision, technique and brain which is why i tend to let him off the odd miss. TBF the whole team both this season and last (mainly this) seem to fluff many many easy chances, in fact more than opposition teams seem to squander. We need to get better at converting thats for sure, but i certainly couldn't just mark one player as being very bad at it. I am not personally attacking you BTW Appy, i just think having Guly in the squad for the rest of the season surely has more positives then negatives.
  3. He played better and put more of a shift in IMO. He also seemed to get up and win a few more headers. My problem is one swallow doesn't make a summer (is that the saying?) and so he needs to do this more often. I stuck by him for a while early on but the past month or so i have been slowly losing my patience, i hope he gets back to top form, for whatever reason he is lacking (i see it as more of a mental issue then injury) I think a lot of it is that people have seen him score a goal, a good goal and then optimism takes over and in the hope that Lambert is back he is given a more positive outlook then he probably deserves. But all in all he did have a better game then the past few. For me, Jaidi looked strong, Guly had a pretty good game, as did Lallana and OX. Morgan also looked back to his best at times, but i admit i am slightely prejudiced in my outlook of him.
  4. Its a shame, i know i can be opinionated, i get that, but some of the crap that is often spoken around me at St Marys is just ludicrous. I hear that Kelvin is crap, Guly shouldn't be here, Lallana tries too hard. There are even those that slag off players that aren't even on the pitch my mistake. At times I think that these people only turn up to have a go at someone and wait until they can slag someone off before speaking, its pretty depressing.
  5. Pinnacle ?
  6. Appy, seriously, just go to bed now We get you don't like Guly, but some of us realise there is more to football !
  7. GET THE F*CK IN !!!!!!!!! I can go to bed now
  8. Except for today when he set up two goals and made life hard for the Huddersfield defence ?
  9. Its a good dillemma for me, Barnard works hard and seems to be a goal scorer (but misses his fair share too) on form Lambert is the leagues best striker (but isn't on form), Connolly looks dangerous when fit and Guly links up well and brings people into the game. Everyone misses chances every now and again, it doesn't help that certain elements of our fanbase seem to wait for players to make a mistake so they can jeer them, which is pretty f*cking disgraceful IMO. Guly had a good game today, his only bad points were the fact that he missed some chances (as did others) and sometimes he and Lambert made the same runs. Someone said earlier in another thread that he is at times too clever for his teammates, which is pretty true IMO. Also what he brings to the team is probably missed by some fans. Honestly i believe only about 30% of football fans actually understand the game.
  10. Except that Lallana missed his fair share, Lambert has done the square root of f*ck all most of the season, Connolly is a crock, Patterson and Robertson have done relatively f*ck all since they left saints and BWP very much missed his fair share of easy chances. Guly is a good player, not a striker i agree, but he knows that and we know that, and i think Adkins knows that it is just injuries that have forced him to play upfront (although he was dropping deeper and playing in the hole really) did you not see he was making space for and allowing Lambert n friends to get involved ?
  11. 10 mil is a bit steep, but then we don't need to sell and he is an important player for us. Of course he and his father can put pressure on but still we won't be held to ransom. Similarly like Puncheon, his stock is rising and whether he wants out or not we can within reason hold out for what we feel is reasonable. If he does go it will be for around 5mil plus add ons IMO.
  12. Its about what he brings to the team, and the fact that we now have a lot of games to catch up with. Barnard has just had a hernia op, how long do you think he will last if we play him in every minute available ?? Similarly with Ox-C and the fact he gets cramp if playing too long. Never mind the fact that Guly set up two goals, runs himself into the ground on many occasions and is technically pretty good. Oh no, he is sh*te. Get rid of him, and Punch and Morgan and anyone else that makes a mistake more than once.
  13. Thats true, lol Forgot about that, Lallana was another crapper back when the dutch duo were doing their worst. Now, even though he arguably missed as many as Guly then Guly is the sh*te one and Lallana is a god.
  14. We do have some mongs for fans. Oh well, chuck him in the crap pile along with Anders, Delap, Oakley, Fuller, Davies, Ormerod, Puncheon etc etc etc
  15. 1-0 Guly. COYS
  16. Oh well, thought we may be able to get him on the cheap, i still reserve judgement as to whether he could do the business in the championship, and looking at his appearance stats for Reading i don't think he can.
  17. Isn't Antonio out of contract again in the summer ? I was under the impression that his contract extension was only a year ?? I may be wrong however.
  18. Wlshere couldn't cut it at this level anyway.......................
  19. I am no fan of Pardew but even i think the fact that everything is so so bad about the start of the season is all Pard's fault is rediculous. Are we forgetting about the situation in which Pardew left under a cloud ? The injuries ? The Wilkins era and also the fact that the owner of the club passed away ?? All of these things probably had a massive effect.
  20. Sorry Alps, But that is complete nonsensicle utter boll*cks. He was/is a good player and tried hard before the fans got on his back, even though the rest of the team was not firing either. He tracked back a lot more than young adam does and IMO often looked like he was dangerous. I do agree though, if for whatever reason he doesn't want to play for us then he should go, but it is a shame, we will struggle to match his quality at this level.
  21. I fear you have documented your own downfalls my friend.
  22. Even then you are admitting that it is barely acceptable.
  23. So you have pretty much admitted that even in your pro hunt world it barely limits within the realms of acceptability then ??
  24. There are better ways of scientific testing though, you do not have to squirt things in anythings eyes anymore to know what sort of damage it can do, that is an economical issue. It is much cheaper to squirt 'acid' at something and look at the effects other than paying for the 'acid' to be tested properly, and that is what is wrong. As for bernard matthews, i do not buy processed crap. Food of that ilk is the reason that we have so many health issues these days. I try whenever reasonably possible to buy higher wealthfare meats such as free range poultry products etc. Obviously i fall down and buy the odd thing some times, everyone does.
  25. I am not saying that it is all about the hunt no, but generally take away the gentry and you take away the hunt. It is however, on any level a desire to be thrilled by the extinguishing of life, which however you look at it...is sick.
