  1. Either way all really engaging discussions are more than 1 dimensional and single sided. And clearly the twitter thing didn't work as there were like 2-3 questions read out.
  2. Well yeah thats what i was getting at. It depends on your perspective of the NC thing. Personally he has made some p*ss poor decisions (Photo Ban) and the payment plan not being communicated. I can't help but think there would not be so much animosity if he actually came out and spoke about the reasons behind some of his 'ideas'. For me he doesn't deserve quite as much vitriol as he gets. As for the Pardew situation, the fact it has been badly planned leads me to believe some sort of incident, somewhere happened, hell it could have been that NC and Pards had a spat or it could be the training ground incident we just don't know. I just think that with Cortese's background i would imagine if he 'planned' to get rid of a vital member of staff he would have a replacement all but ready, that fact he hasn't speaks volumes. Add this to the fact that Pardew has a lot of previous to do with falling out at clubs for one reason or another.
  3. Yeah i saw that, although i did think it was between Hammond and Jaidi to pick up Austin... at the time i thought it was Jaidi's mistake and wondered why Fonte was shouting at Hammond and not Jaidi who really made Fonte's job hard Tuesday. Harding is always a stroppy c*nt anyways, lost count the amount of times he loses his temper at 5 year old ball boys or other players. As for Barnard, he was sent for studs up, not the little scuffle.
  4. Or alternatively we might as well presume the rumours aren't true, so NC can continue to look like the devil incarnate.
  5. **** you and **** this ****ing place Not all of us have twitter, i just thought seeing as it is a podcast for the forum it would probably be better suited asking questions on teh forum ?
  6. I do thoroughly agree, but sometimes you need to just get to the byeline and swing some crosses in. Getting the wide men to swap around would be a good tactic to have, and if we played 4-5-1 the three behind the front man could be more fluid which would draw the defence out and cause lots of holes to appear.
  7. How objective and well debated.........................................................lol You really don't like Cortese do you ?? Generally its pretty well done but in reality it is two blokes who think exactly the same having a chat. Would be improved if you got us to ask questions on the forum perhaps or even debated with a few people of differing opinions (i realise we are all saints fans but many of us have different opinions)
  8. Perhaps, i just don't think it is as devastating as everyone is making out. IMO the fact that he was sacked so quickly with lack of planning is indicative of an off field event and not a planned sacking. As for Porto they are pretty much habitual winners of cups and leagues in portugal and Fergie was at stirling for something like 100 days so not really long enough to gain an opinion in my eyes. And like i said, any manager unable to bring this team and this set up success will be deemed a failure. Pardew did just what is expected and IMO if he hadn't have won the JPT probably less that expected.
  9. Adkins would be a good shout. I even think Howe would be a decent shout but think we MAY need to install a bigger name to ensure we keep the big names. It'll be a tough one, and IMO as much as it may hurt not to hear for a week or two then it may benefit in the long run if we install the right man.
  10. That looks better, Barry is over-rated and would probably look better on the left before Johnson turned up. I also think Milner had his best ever season last year but Walcott is on fire right now and we need pace in the england team. IMO we need to look at the Italian and German models which use the Euro's as a training ground for the new youth in order to become ready for the world cup. Will Terry/Lampard/Beckham/Scholes ever make the next world cup ? If even the Euro's FFS. Until the FA move into the future and embrace change we will never amount to anything.
  11. He is not meant to be a box to box player, he is a sort of deep playmaker who can do a bit of defending. Lazy ? No just positionally sound. He lets the flair players play. Would your mate think Mascherano and Makelele were lazy ?
  12. Many have achieved it though. And many who have, many on here do not regard as good enough to replace the mighty Pardew.
  13. Championship form and so win percentages is relative in any league and not an indication to the manager par se. It is just indicative of the capabilities as a whole the football club holds. I don't care how good Fergie is (and he is good) he would not get anywhere near that at a club that is not considered to be a league contender. Pardew's win percentage is indicative of SFC's first team squad, facilities but more importantly the wealth involved in building that. Any manager would have made a decent attempt at the playoffs and anything less would have been complete failure. As for the JPT, ok, yeah it was fantastic, and i was happy to see a successful saints again however as soon as pre-season started i was gutted we are plying our trade in the third tier again and honestly i would trade the JPT for the NPC any day. (FA Cup/League cup would be different)
  14. A lesson in self harm ?? Whats that all about ?
  15. Again situational, i would expect that from any manager that has this team, facilities and wealth behind it, anything less than that (and IMO its not great as you say championship form would be around the 60% mark). Timing could be out of NC's hands dependant on what has happened, but at the start of the season, with a game in hand and 6 points of the leaders after 3 games is hardly the worst possible time. The end of season run in however would have been. Success ? No not really, the JPT was a great day out but give it a few years and no one will care, it is a lower league cup. Our club will be judged on major trophies and league positions only.
  16. Before the season started i was more than confident we would be ok, but after the start we have had i was not so sure really. In all honesty with the team and money we have had to spend i would be dissapointed if I couldn't get us promoted let alone an experienced manager. This goes for last season as well, IMO if he was more tactically aware and more reactive to what was happening on the pitch we could have made the playoffs, also he asked for more cash in order to make it, he didn't. We have not made a blistering start, players look off form, but Swindon was a blip, it won't happen much. The fact the move has come so early has helped as we can sort ourselves out now rather than damaging a run later, also we were hardly in form anyway. Another thing is it was in the cup, this will help to focus on the league. Losing Pardew is not as bad as is being made out, plus if he was damaging the team it is a positive step (i accept we don't know either way). Unfortunately the fact he is being made out to be the best manager since WGS is situational as opposed to characteristically, in the same way as people can say Keegan achieved a lot..... but only when backed by cash.
  17. Were not likely to hear anything though i am afraid, we never do at any club really Cortese or no Cortese. The fact is however that when managers are usually dismissed for no reason to them then they usually 'release' the info at some point, like in MON's case. The fact Pardew has left without looking back or mentioning anything is as deafening as Cortese keeping his trap shut.
  18. Would fit in the puzzle i have been told
  19. Equally i am surprised that many believe it was the 'crazy' dictators 'crazy' f*ck up due to him not liking him. Look at whats happened and that we have heard nothing. Add this to the fact that Cortese has been a very successful in business. Honestly, if he identified Pardew as a weak link as some are saying or didn't like him then surely he would have a planned replacement. He hasn't, it seems to be a quick decision made on what can only assume an incident that has happened somewhere. Thats how i see it. Everywhere Pardew has been has been marred with something that has gone wrong or someone he has rubbed up the wrong way, this only adds to my thoughts on the issue.
  20. Its not really a major f*ck up though is it ?? Pardew wasn't that great and we don't actually know whats happened ?
  21. B*llocks. We have been playing with no imagination and no plan B if our main game plan was not coming to fruition. Our best players were simply not performing and there was obvious friction between NC, Pardew and the sports development staff. Add this to the now many rumours that Pardew did not get on too well with the players (something i heard before he was sacked) and the fact that apparantly he was just not motivated any more (don't know about that one so much). The thing is Pardew is not the managerial god everyone believes he is, he spent alot of money which all in all gave us our success, i don't think he is the sort of manager that could achieve anything without adequate backing. What really p*sses me off is the majority of fans who were booing the team early in the season... PARDEWS team, and now he is gone singing for him. Pathetic, fickle t*ssers the lot of them. As for Alpines repeated 'the players couldn't be bothered tues night' you were not at the game ? You heard it on the radio or from other posters who may or may not have been at the game ? So stop banging on as if it were fact. The players looked committed, just not good enough. And Jaidi managed to pretty much gift Swindon two goals. Fact is the players have been out of form every game so far.
  22. He probably won't get the cash if he gets a pay off ? Unless you mean from the papers etc ?? It also depends what has actually happened, if it is Pardews fault (of which i am leaning towards from what i hear) then he has no basis to go to the papers etc, what would be the point ? Whats done is done, i hope now the club will sit down and hire a committed, motivated and tactically astute manager who can get the best out of our players.
  23. Davis Butterfield Fonte Martin Harding Hammond Schniederlin Ox-C Puncheon Dickson Lambert We need a win, we need to play with some belief. And our big players need to hit form soon. Everyone is saying they looked bad on Tues as they were so bothered about the Pardew Dismissal but in all honesty we haven't been at our best all season yet. Hopefully the managers seat will be filled soon.
