To be honest, he's probably not far off with 3-0.

Does anyone know how many season ticket holders we actually have? I'm assuming it's around 23/24k? -

Going by the Inter website, Beer Sheva have been given the top tier of Inter's 'away end', blocks 301-318. Not sure what that equates to in terms of allocation but hopefully we get more. The 2nd tier of the same stand is classified as 'closed'. They also have the option to buy tickets in one of the side stands which I assume is the 'neutral' section. -
On Riccardo Saponara: http://www.tuttobolognaweb.it/news/southampton-su-saponara/?refresh_ce-cp " Only two days at the end of the market but Riccardo Saponara can still change jersey. In the last hours as reported by Sport Mediaset has become the insistent pressure of Southampton who has taken concrete steps to bring the attacking midfielder in the Premier . The player also like Bologna , Torino and Sassuolo but when the Saints are in pole position ."

Oliver Burke, who a few on here mentioned would be a great signing for us, has joined newly promoted Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig for a fee reported to be around £13m-£15m.

They're putting packages together for all 3 away games, according to the website. -

The club are offering travel packages for the away games too, which is worth mentioning. -
Fair to assume we're nowhere near close to agreeing a fee then.

I'll let someone else explain how it works but the bit in bold, IMO.... -------------------Forster--------------------- --Clyne-----VVD-----Alderweireld--Bertrand -----------------Wanyama----------------- -----Hojbjerg---------------Morgan------ ------Mane-----------------Lallana------ ----------------Lambert----------------- That's a top 4 team

Interestingly, Boufal didn't feature at the weekend for Lille and he doesn't appear to be injured at the moment from what I can tell.
-
Marko Rog (Dinamo Zagreb) who we supposedly had a bid rejected for is signing for Napoli this week. Another one to cross off the list.

You're all c*nts.

Already feels a bit must-win.... Forster Cedric Fonte VVD Bertrand (hopefully) Hojbjerg Clasie Redmond Tadic Long Austin 2-1 Saints.

Miles out of our league.

Sorry, just spotted that this was written by Alex Crook. Nothing to see here...

Have you at all considered that Hojbjerg's barely played a competitive 90 minutes in a long time? And comparing us to Aston Villa? Get a bloody grip.

I'd go with (presuming it will be 4-3-3): Forster; Targett, Fonte, Van Dijk, Cedric; Romeu, Hojbjerg, Davis; Redmond, Tadic, Long

Lille are out. Lubin heading out with 5 mins to go unless they score again -
As per the title, what do you expect from the season and what would you deem an acceptable finish (if the two are different)? Being realistic, we have overachieved the past 2 seasons and there's going to be a natural limit to how far we can keep progression in terms of league position - unless we pull off a Leicester style miracle. I'd say top 10 with getting out the group in the EL and a decent run in the FA/League Cup would be a good season but each to their own...

Updated with scores from 1st leg. Not too many surprises that would change my predictions too much. In terms of the UK/RIO teams - -Aberdeen probably 50/50, will have to score in Slovenia to have any chance -West ham should overturn NK Domzale's first leg league in their first game at the Olympic Stadium, especially as they have an away goal -Cork will need to replicate Dundalk's heroics to get through vs Genk (1-0 down). Probably a round too far for them. -
Worth mentioning that both of those players were signed in the Cortese era. Worst signing since then (from memory), with Les Reed as 'top dog' in terms of transfers, was probably Juanmi and at £5m it didn't exactly contain a lot of risk. People have mentioned Wanyama in terms of 'profit' too but you could hardly say it was a bad transfer (both in or out). Considering he missed a fair chunk of last season for being a liability to the team and getting sent off/yellow cards too much, selling him for break even (or just below) with a year left on his contract is good business. We've now gone and signed Hojbjerg for not much more money who is only 20 and is clearly a talent.
