I wasn't there but a couple of people have said that the talk was that the club are 'in discussions with a striker' or at least 'in the hunt for a striker'. So nothing new there really.

Should imagine just more competition for the current Cork-Spiderman positions. Davis I suspect will be competing with Ramirez for the No 10 slot with Ward-Prowse/Schneiderlin pushing into that role on occasion?

It's just covering our bases. Bid for 2-3 players from the same position but we'll probably only end up buying one. I suspect Banega is now seen as out of our reach but we're going for both Wanyama and Nainggolan in case the top target (either one) falls through.

Does it really matter that much? We've got to play everyone at some point and we're miles better than when we played there last season.
