He can't pass the ball to a member of our own team so no, he shouldn't play.

I went last night. I can accept making 11 changes because as Adkins said, the team he put out SHOULD be capable of giving a fairly average Leeds team a game. But the fact we didn't have a shot on target all game and it took until the 74th minute to have even an off target shot is beyond pathetic. No point debating a refund because myself and the other souls who had to put up with that mediocrity won't get one. Put the £20 towards clearing some dead wood and getting a half decent defence in January. Maybe even a new manager at this rate.

I hope you booed him and shouted obscenities in his direction like all good saints fans should

4 of us going. We'll just have to spread out to fill the away end.

Independent article sums it up perfectly

"Individually some players are maybe getting found out a little bit" Essentially, that's Adkins admitting that some players aren't good enough. Begs the question even more - why was the issue not sorted in the summer? The transfer 'committee' have a lot to answer for. -
This doesn't surprise me. If you believe Adkins - Fox has had about 3 separate injuries so far this season.

Won't vote on this until after the Spurs game.

It's pretty obvious that Cortese tries to save as many pennies as possible (to the extreme in some cases). It might seem cold but let's be honest - he doesn't really give a toss as long as it's of the benefit to the club.

But he said that about 2 years ago now if memory serves me correctly (was after Adkins had come in, interview with Dan Roan) Maybe the situation has changed and plan B doesn't exist anymore? -
It's a marketing exercise they just never thought through.

They were fond years but the whole point of football (well, sport) is to try and be the best. It may have been more entertaining in the Championship but surely anyone with a brain cell, if asked, would logically chose the Premier League over the Championship. That's without even getting into the new TV deal that, if we stay up, we'll get a share of If I remember rightly.

Yeah, I'd much rather be in a lower league.....
-
I think we all would.

Who the captain is really isn't our issue right now. Adkins works with Adam everyday so he must have been pretty sure that he was ready. It probably doesn't help that Adam is the 4th captain we've had in the space of the past 2 years but he's a regular in the side, works as hard as any other player and knows the values of the club blah blah... Would be handy if he could play in defence right now, though.

Steven or Kelvin?

Bugger! -
Fully deserved. Hope a certain Mr Lambert is next.

Well he's not Messi, is he? The poster said, rightly so, that form should count in this case and that Puncheon deserves to start. We play Arsenal on 15th September whilst Ramirez is likely to feature in Uruguay's game against Ecuador on 11th September so the earliest he will meet up with the squad is probably Thursday 13th after a lot of travelling. It makes sense to play Puncheon over Ramirez for this game. Why you brought up Messi I'll never know.

We really needed a CM on the bench yesterday because JWP was knackered by the end. He was terrific but I think he started to cramp up by 75 minutes.

I think they know it's sh1t. Most of the clubs do but they're stuck with it for now, unless they and us want to pay a massive fee to get out of the contract.

3-1 United. We'll give it a good go but they'll be too strong. Expecti it to be about October before we fully get going with the new signings.

Alex Ferguson. He's just trying to wind us up ahead of Sunday.
